"They read from the Iban New Testament which had already been translated and one of them came to put his trust in the Lord, 'It's not what you've been saying, it's that Word,' was his comment."

"The greatest thing to have happened in the history of the Kelabit people was the conversion of the tribe to Christianity. The developments in the Kelabit country carried by the Government in the last thirty years have been a success mainly because of the effect of Christianity on the Kelabits..."

some encouraging quotes!

This book discusses the revival among the tribes of East Malaysia in the 1900s. It was so encouraged and I loved learning about East Malaysia. I was given this book by a friend of mine when I was actually IN East Malaysia and reading this book while I explored Sabah was so fun and such a good experience. Seriously, so many quotes that were very encouraging!! The last few chapters were my favorite parts :) highly recommend!

The story of the Lun Bawang people of Sarawak, Malaysia adopting Christianity and reversing their drunken, disease-riddled "path toward extinction". I lived in Ba Kelalan with Lun Bawang people in 2010. This was a fascinating read.
