I like the We Both Read format, where the adult reads a page and the child reads the opposite page. This one is simple, with the child's page having only a few words, not a complete sentence.
This one is a little too gender stereotype-y for me. June comes up with a tune. Then she works on lyrics. Then a boy comes along who likes the tune, but suggests his own lyrics. June wants to sing about flowers and cakes. The boy wants to sing about dinosaurs and bugs. They argue. Eventually a third child shows up and suggests a compromise.
Why should June compromise? It's her tune. It's in the title.
Big hit with both the 4 year-old and the one year-old (tune! Tune!), who enjoy the whimsical alliterative and rhyming lyrics that the characters imagine.
