Violet Charlie Blaze made my heart flutter that first day at freshman orientation. Two years later, I’m still content to admire him from afar, no matter what I write in my diary. He’s tall and athletic—the consummate jock complete with cocky friends and the requisite cheerleader girlfriend. When he comes to my library to work, he’s witty and kind, and I’m pleasantly surprised. But just when I think there’s more to Charlie than meets the eye, he shows me he’s like all the rest.
Guys like Charlie Blaze don’t belong with girls like me.
Charlie There is something special about Violet Duchenne—it was obvious from the moment I laid eyes on her. But no matter how hard I try to get her attention, it’s clear she wants nothing to do with me. When my research project brings me to the library where she works, it seems I got her all wrong. She’s smart and funny, and she sees me in a way no one else does. Trouble is, the rest of my life isn’t on board—and that’s been made painfully clear to her.
Girls like Violet Duchenne don’t go for guys like me.

Fiona Starr is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal Romance. She writes everything from Reverse Harem to M/F, as long as it has magic, shifters, and other creatures! She loves fated mates and enemies to lovers romance, even better when it's set in a gripping mystery. Actually, most tropes are fair game, as long as we get to the HEA (which we always do!). She lives her happily ever after in the mountains of Colorado with her hunky husband and their fleet of fur babies.
2 underwhelmed stars for this one, it's super short and involves an instant attraction, which doesn't lead to an immediate relationship. Shy girl Violet spends plenty of time fantasizing about Charlie but her nerves mean when he first approaches her she locks up, then about a year or two later he approaches her again.
His friends were idiots and I wasn't keen on him not ripping into them, his inaction didn't have me sighing in delight.
3.5 Stars. This story wasn’t too bad even though there was no than a few grammatical errors. Charlie and Violet meet in freshman orientation and both are instantly smitten but Violet is extremely shy and Charlie believes she isn’t interested. Skip ahead two years. I kind of wish Charlie didn’t have a girlfriend, if you think you have a soulmate kind of connection with someone you should definitely fight harder to win them over. Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. H is not a virgin and just broke up with his girlfriend, h is a virgin and didn’t date anyone in the two years. No op drama but there is a misunderstanding that I would have smacked Charlie over. No abuse.
3.5 Violet is a relatable character with her introvert emotions especially when you add in having your crush speak to you. Charlie is a man that fits in comfortably with the popular crowd and is on the fence with expressing how he feels to everyone because of their views. A quick read that was rather fast paced but I felt the storyline was spread out just enough that there was a bit of realistic feels as the characters moved through their lives.
Romance genre: opposites attract Series: The May Flowers Length: 50 pages
Plot: Charlie has had a crush on Violet for a couple of years now. He approached her in the beginning but her shyness made it impossible for her to respond back to him. So he's been living his life until he goes to the library and sees her working there. He makes his move again and finds out that he's not the only one who's been pining.
Commentary: When checking on Amazon, it seems this book has been unpublished, so it's unavailable right now. You know what I would love? If the Flirt Club series were published in a collection (as in, all the May Flower books in a collection, all the Fireworks stories in a collection, etc.). That would be a great use of KU. That sounds like a logistical nightmare though. But still. Also, not sure why Charlie had to have a girlfriend. It seems like if he was absolutely in love with Violent, he could ave made a second attempt to get her attention. Instead he said, "oh well, who needs a soulmate" and went out and got a girlfriend. Not that I wanted him to stop living in the two years, just that it shouldn't have been two years, not if he had been a little more alpha.
I've really enjoyed a lot of these Flirt Club multi-author series, but this particular entry didn't do much for me. Rather underwhelming insta-love short story. 2 stars - just OK.
Charlie (H) encounters Violet (h) at an freshman orientation seminar. Her cold reaction leads him to believe she's not interested. It takes two years before they get a chance to talk again, at which point he learns that she's just painfully shy. Could this be their chance to see if their connection can grow?
Violet was too weak for me. I understand being shy and introverted. But she literally flinched when anyone tried to talk to her. As short as the story is, we don't get much backstory to her, other than 'she's shy' and there was some bullying. I can understand when it's their encounter at the library - a little - because she's been crushing on him, writing fantasies, etc. The natural guilt-type embarrassment would definitely lead to increased shyness. But she seriously doesn't seem like someone who has been in university for three years and in a job working with the public. I know that librarians don't get waitress or retail levels of "dealing with the public" but we still definitely work with the public.
Also, the library job wasn't believable in itself, not just her shyness while working in it. No university library would have an undergrad working the reference desk. Circulation desk, of course. Not reference.
The relationship too was weak. Insta-love with multiple misunderstandings provide the drama. They talk and then they're hopping in bed. Charlie never stands up for her in public, never corrects his friends. That would definitely have gone a long way in my approval of him, even if it had just been a brief comment in the epilogue. Again, it's just so short, never really any deeper development to the characters and their relationship.
Alternating 1sst person POV. No cheating, no love triangle, no OW/OM drama. Not really much of anything, really - just so short. Weak h and a H that never really steps up either. Short and simple short story of a college romance. HEA and no cliffhanger.
Would I read more in the series? I love these multi-author series. They are a great way to get introduced to new authors, and the stories themselves are quick short escapes. There are always going to be weaker ones for every favorite in the series.

I’ve seen these Flirt Club books online before, so I thought it was time that I give one a try and see what they’re all about. The premise seemed intriguing, and I really wasn’t sure what to expect. How do I feel after having read the book? Meh. It took me less than an hour to read, and probably will be remembered for a similar length of time. It wasn’t bad, but there also wasn’t a lot to it so I can’t say that it was awesome either.
The story follows Violet, a shy college student, and Charlie, a popular guy who finds himself drawn to Violet. They met during freshman orientation and Charlie tried to flirt with Violet, but she didn’t reciprocate. Two years later, they come face to face again at the library, and suddenly it’s on. The book is equal parts sweet and steamy, in addition to being realistic but also over the top. It’s a cute, semi ridiculous story that’s a good choice if you’re just looking to read something quick on your lunch break or as you fall asleep.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is story in the May Flowers series written by various authors known as the Flirt Club. Charlie met Violet when they started college, but she was shy and he thought she wasn't interested. Two years later, Violet was working at the library when Charlie came in looking for books. Violet has spent the last two years dreaming about Charlie, but he is so popular and dating another girl. Charlie was surprised to see Violet, but he wanted to be with her and decided he would take a chance. Violet and Charlie were getting close until Charlie's phone rang and Violet pulled away thinking it was charlie's girlfriend. Violet felt so guilty and when she overheard Charlie and his friends, she thought Charlie was a jerk. Charlie wanted another chance and he wanted to explain and apologize. Violet had to decide if she could forgive him. I like this series, this was a good one, but not my favorite. I think Charlie was a bit of a jerk and he should have been a little more mature.
His Violet is a novella that is a part of the Mayflower series. This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Violet Duchenne is a painfully shy college student that has a crush on fellow student, Charlie Blaze. Charlie Blaze has wanted Violet since he first saw her in freshman year. When she ran before he could get to know her he was a little disappointed. A year later and Charlie comes face to face with Violet in the library and can finally make his move. The chemistry between Charlie and Violet was clear to see and they made a cute couple. I liked that when Charlie messed up, Violet had the confidence to speak out and then give him a second chance. I really liked the epilogue/so many years later part of this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is a nice read.
Another fantastic addition to the Flirt Club “May Flowers” series 12 fantastic authors writing short story contemporary romances and this is Violet’s and Charlie’s story. Charlie and Violet met in freshman year they are attracted to each other but Violet shies away she runs every time class finishes. Violet has written naughty things in her diary about Charlie and now he is standing right in front of her here in the library where she works. Charlie has always been attracted to Violet but when he tries to talk to her she would run away but now she is here standing right in front of him still as shy as she was before. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but it’s a short fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

From the moment that Charlie saw Violet at freshman orientation he was drawn to but when he approached her he misinterpreted her extreme shyness for disinterest. Violet is painfully shy and more comfortable with books than people and doesn’t understand what a popular jock who could have any girl he wanted would want her.
Two years later he comes into the library where she works, and the sparks fly. Will this be their second chance, or will they let insecurities and the opinions of others come between them?
Sweet and steamy this is a story about two people who couldn’t be more different or more perfect for each other.
Violet had a crush on Charlie Blaze since Freshman orientation but she never thought he would want her. When he finally makes his move a few years later she thinks this is it until she hears his friends making fun of her and Charlie not saying anything. However when he realizes that he may very well lose his chance with her Charlie vows to show her how much she means to him. Can he prove to Violet that she is the only one for him?
This is a great short story. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This May Flower read is on the sweet and shy side. Violet is incredibly shy so when she meets Charlie in freshman year, he feels like she is not interested in him. They have a few classes together each year but they just exist in the same universe. Finally fate steps in and sends Charlie to the campus library for a class project and he comes face to face with Violet. Is fate strong enough this time around? A misunderstanding could permanently derail these two. Charlie has to step up his game but can he live up to Violet's Diary Charlie?

Finding your soul mate Such a good story. Charlie meets Violet at orientation and is interested but her severe shyness makes it seem like she's not interested so he backs off. Violet is interested in Charlie but can't do anything about it so he'll just be with her in her diary. Flash forward two years and they make contact again but this time Charlie is determined to do something about it. A couple of mistakes on Charlie's part almost end it again but he apologizes in big way, showing Violet he means it. That opens the door for them to see what they could be. Sweet, romantic, left me with a smile on my face and happiness in my heart.
I like this series of books. Fun and exciting to see how each flower plays out. This is about a girl who has it altogether but is shy and works in the library with a crush on a jock. Then there is the popular jock with the popular girlfriend. He ends up needing the library which gives him a chance to meet her and get to know her. But she has a wall up and shy's away at the slightest thing she doesn't understand. It has drama, emotional situations and so much more. This was a cute, quick read. I wish it was longer because I loved the story so much. I didn't want it to end.
Charlie and Violet met on the first day of college but Violet walked away before Charlie could really talk with her. They had some classes on a couple of semesters but they never sat close enough. Charlie has a paper that he needs to write so he heads to the library where Violet is working. They share a passionate kiss before it all fell apart. Will they be able to work things out?

His Violet by Fiona Starr a five-star read you would chase after. This novella was a challenge, at times I wanted to throat punch Charlie Blaze, and that just shows me the talent of Fiona Starr as to get such a visceral reaction in so few pages. The positive is that I didn’t feel that way for long, I have to admit I loved how Violet went from a shrinking little flower to a beautiful full garden.
A case of assumptions that are unfounded, add in shyness as a result of middle school bullying and you've got Violet and Charlie's sweet short story. I am not one to be very critical of editing, however I could not look past it. There were so many issues that I just mentally corrected it and moved on as I know that this is not typical of Fiona Starr's writing. Still, it was an enjoyable read.
Charlie and Violet met freshman year and he was attracted to her but she acted disinterested so he moved on. Two years later his is everything that shy Violet is not, he is popular and dates cheerleaders but when he comes into the library where she works things change and she doesn't have to write her steamy thoughts in her diary any longer.

Another great quick read from this May flowers series. A story of misunderstood attraction and missed opportunities. Violet is painfully shy and Charlie misread that as her being not interested. But as the saying goes, it only takes 4 or 5 seconds of bravery and he kisses her and wham bam thank you ma’am the sparks fly and he pursues her. Cue HEA! The ending was beautiful with the proposal in their graduation gowns.
Shy librarian Violet is totally adorable but when hot guy Charlie sniffs her hair and says it smells great she freaks out. Charlie thinks she is repulsed by him and makes it a point to avoid her. Little did he know she had fantasies staring him. Years later he gets a another chance but he almost blows it. Charlie finally gets to see the real Violet and is totally smitten. Cute couple who bring out the best in each other eventually.
Violet sat next to Charlie first day at freshman orientation for college. He saw,her and was hooked, but thought she wasn't interested and went his own way. Meanwhile, extremely shy Violet didn't think herself worthy of Charlie and just fantasized about him daily. Until one day 2 yrs later he walks into the library for help and there she is....sweet ending.
A well written, sweet, and engaging read! It is flawless, emotionally deep, witty, and funny with misunderstandings and assumed differences. Loveable characters; their chemistry is intense and off the charts. A Must Read!

A sweet story of two college students attracted to each other but do not act on those feelings right away. They meet up after awhile at the library where Violet works and Charlie needs help with a term paper. Such a cute couple! A wonderful quick read.

I really enjoyed this quick read romance. I thought that this YA, opposites attract story is very sweet and has some heat. Shy Violet and Jock Charlie's story is just perfect for when you want a fast read, something to recover from a book hangover or just want a little reading treat for yourself. I'm posting a honest, voluntary review.
