This book made me very anxious for spring and getting back in the garden! It had a whole section on pest control, but nothing on mosquitos or Japanese beetles which are some of my biggest pests, so I thought it was lacking in some areas. Overall, though, very good info!
Covered a wide variety of topics including how gardens can clean air, modify air temperature, modulate sound, grow healing herbs, etc. Gives a brief but surprisingly thorough overview of many topics. UK based.
This had a lot of information but I was disappointed in seeing some poor recommendations on planting very invasive species, which made it unreliable to me.
I appreciated the organization of this one around different garden goals: low allergens, noise reduction, welcoming wildlife, scent or to draw wild life.
Very interesting, loved learning about the protective nature of plants - against pollution and sound and floods, as well as the obvious relaxation properties and eating and herbal traits.
