I like this book for exposing beginning readers to informational texts because it has a simple, easy to follow lay out. It also has a table of contents with clearly defined chapters so that students can begin to learn how to access just the information they're looking for. This book informs readers about where hedgehogs are found in the wild, where they like to make their homes, how they grow into adults, and how their spines protect them. This book would also be a great resource if students were researching predators or hibernation, each idea is valuable and not just specific to hedgehogs.

Books #49. Easy reader DK style with lots of pop up facts and captions, large font and uncluttered layout. I learned a lot! Who doesn’t love a cute, perhaps not so cuddly, hedgehog?
