Falling for the wrong cowboy never felt so good . . .

Samantha Baker is a high-flying movie producer living in New York City. She loves her shoes, drinking cosmopolitans, and wouldn’t trade the comforts of city life for anything in the world. But when her job is put on the line, Samantha has no other choice than to move to the middle of nowhere to straighten out the filming of her latest romantic comedy blockbuster.

Her new country home has no Starbucks, no Pilates, and the one pub in town has never heard of appletinis—only serves beer and whiskey neat. On the plus side, the views are scenic. And not just for the aerial shots, as the local eye-candy provides a welcome distraction.

At least until Samantha discovers a native cowboy, Travis Hunt, is the source of all her troubles...

And the battle begins.

Each has something the other wants, but as Samantha and Travis go head to head, they might discover the endgame has changed. When hate turns to heat, all becomes fair in love and war for these two sworn enemies who’ve been playing a game of hearts.

But will a roll in the hay be enough to make Samantha decide there’s no sex in the city and convert to country living?

Samantha Baker is a new yorker, she loves the city, the busy sidewalks and the noises too, so she is utterly annoyed when her boss sends her on the set of their latest rom com in a small town of Indiana to solve the problems that halt the shooting.
On the way from the airport to her bed & breakfast she encounters her first obstacle, a cow stucked in the middle of the road, she tries to make it move but the animal doesn't want until it listen the sound coming from the lips of a cowboy. Travis Hunt is a cowboy, among other things, and that won't be the only time he sees Samantha.

Samantha and Travis live in two worlds apart, but maybe not too far as I expected. These characters surprised me, I wanted to dislike the city woman attitude towards the country people, but as I got to know Samantha better I found she is a strong, lovable woman. Travis is a kind, resolute man who does everything to help his town. They were istantly attracted to each other but they refrein to act on their desire because they don't really get along. In the end they are a well matched couple that will bring out the best of each other.

Camilla Isley once again told a light, romantic story that breach in your heart, giving you joy and pleasure thank to an easy and amusing writing.

Sweet Love and Country Roads played out in my mind like a movie, the town of Emerald Creek sounds a nice place to rest and recharge, I throughly recommend to read it.

This book was sooo cute. Your usual city girl and country boy romance but it was done very well. I’m going to be honest in the beginning I was a little annoyed with the female main character due to how negative she was about her situation, being that she was sent to the middle of nowhere. Which I understand as well but I felt she just too negative about it all. But I LOVED Travis with all my heart. He was just the sweetest and funniest dude. And Hildi the goat omg. I want a goat now. This book felt like a warm hug and something that I would grab if I just wanted a quick, cute cowboy romance. My one wish with this book is that the end wasn’t so rushed. It felt like it all of a sudden came to a close in a sense that all the weeks and experiences were summarized and glazed over. But other than that I loved this book!

I do love a smoking hot cowboy!
I also love small town USA romances!
And I really enjoy enemies to loves tropes!
Oh and I love anything featuring film making too!
Not to mention an unlikely amusing and adorable animal that I want for myself!
Oh and I really really love Camilla Isley books!

So when all of these elements are combined, can you guess how I feel about this book?

If you said that I loved it then you would be correct! It's fabulous, just my sort of read. It's pure romantic escapism with fabulous chemistry, great banter, a whole cast of entertaining characters,

It's the perfect summer read, great for a garden or a beach, where you just want to be entertained. And I loved the cameos from characters in other books in this series. But it can 100% be read as a standalone, as we have never met Samantha and Travis before.

And the sheriff in town caught my eye too. And seeing Samantha trying to adjust to temporary life in Indiana, when she is used to the hustle and bustle of New York.

It's just another simply fantastic Camilla Isley novel, that I had a ball reading.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

3.5 rounded up.

This was a fun opposites attract, enemies to lovers, fade to black type romance between a big city movie producer who comes to a small country town to get a film back on track and ends up falling for the mayor. I enjoyed the banter and the farm animal side characters totally stole the show in my opinion!! It was a little too convenient how she was able to find a job to let her stay and live outside NYC but that's the genre and I can't fault it too much. Good on audio and recommended for fans of books like Part of your world by Abby Jimenez or Grumpy Cowboy by Max Monroe. LOVE LOVE this cover!!

This is your typical city girl meets country boy story, but it was well done. It took me a minute to like the FMC because she was a brass New Yorker and not someone I can relate to, but I Travis was such a fun character and I loved Hildi the goat! She was so sweet and added such a quirky element to the story. I didn’t realize this was part of a series until after I read it so it can clearly be read as a stand-alone. I loved the banter between Samantha and Travis once I warmed up to Samantha :)
I kind of wish the ending didn’t feel as rushed, but I guess maybe the author wanted to keep it shorter. That being said, there was probably some other stuff that could have been cut out to make room for some more flushing out at the ending. Other than that, a sweet country fade to black love story.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I am always up for a good small town romance book and this was just that! It was cute and a good read for the summertime while you are relaxing. Having the tropes enemies to lovers and opposites attract was just an added bonus! Usually I’m not one to read a lot of fade to black romances but this was a good book! The cover is absolutely adorable! The characters were ever so charming and the banter was wonderful! This is a part of a series but you can read it as a standalone.

A big thanks to Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Books & Tonic for the the ARC!

2.5 stars rounded down.

It really breaks my heart to give Camilla's book 2 stars but it would be a disservice to my love for her other books if I give this more.
This is the weakest book in First comes love series. I miss the intense conflict of the earlier books, whether it is treasure hunting with sinister persons, or being hung up on the wrong person, or dealing with exes who left them at the altar the conflict of why the main couple had to stay apart before they came together felt genuine and the tension palpable. At this day and age no matter the job, the career keeping Sam and Travis apart felt weak.
Secondly Camilla gives intricate details about the characters, I still love Arthur's epic backstory in I Wish For You which awed me for the level of detailing. Here there's no backstory, the book is filled with so so many hook ups mainly with what each person is wearing that day or how hot they were that it felt I was reading an ordinary contemporary romance. I miss her old characters. The Home For Christmas brought back the old charm, this one fell through. All in all, I still love Camilla I wish we could bring back the style of her earlier books. The two stars is mainly for Hildi, Fluffy and Duncan and Amber who seemed like they deserved their own book. Sam and Travis just didn't make it for me!

Well it turns out I have a thing for cowboys, shame I live somewhere that although it has cows, doesn’t have the sexy hunk on a horse following them. Luckily for me though there are book ones and Travis is right up there with Luke from The Longest Ride.

This book had everything I love in a romance and it gave me all the feels. An independent, career driven feisty female who loves her life, a man who is at home both in jeans and a suit, an enemies to lovers trope, adorable animals and a little bit of spice.

I loved how I knew what was going to happen even before the characters did and the fun I had sitting back and watching it all play out. The teasing and tormenting from both sides as they played games with each other was just as tormenting for me as a reader and hell I would have been riding that cowboy quicker than the cat could sneak on the bed.

Another fun and romantic read from this author and my only addition would be please write a book for Amber and Duncan the Sheriff.

Camilla Isley's "Love to Hate You" is an easily digestible but average cowboy-lawyer-mayor meets big-wig-prissy-Hollywood-producer romance that will satisfy your sweet-romance-tooth. Personally, it's a little too "aww" for me. I never feel like I got to know main character Samantha apart from some surface-level facts about her. She comes off a little poorly in the beginning, and it took some time for me to warm to her. Her arc felt less "take charge" and more "poor sport/stuck between a rock and a hard place." Emerald Creek, Indiana eventually softens her, though. I did, however, enjoy Travis as a main male character. We get to know him a lot better, and I think I fell in love with him a little bit. Is my cowboy era finally beginning? 🤠 I liked Samantha and Travis's growing chemistry as they go from enemies to friends to potential lovers. They have some terrific banter with one another. As a whole, this book feels like it is missing a spark, a pop, some sizzle, something to set it apart from other books just like it. The end also wraps up too quickly and nicely with a bow for me. If you know you like Camilla Isley, read away!

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books, and Camilla Isley for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for my review.

I love a good cowboy romance! I had no idea what to expect going into this, but it was just such a good time in the end, and exactly what I was looking for out of an end-of-summer romance read. The concept was definitely a bit far-fetched, of a movie producer having to help rebuild a town in order to get filming permits, but I honestly really enjoyed the ridiculousness of it all. I always enjoy a small-town setting, and this was no exception with the country dances and the one bar in town, and the tight-knit community. Travis and Samantha were very cute together, and I appreciated how New York was incorporated as a common point between the two of them while also loving the small town too. Travis was such a sweetheart and it was nice to see how thoughtful he was towards Samantha and her career.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for the opportunity to receive an ARC of Love To Hate You by Camilla Isley.

I loved this cute little small town romance. It was done so well as to not seem too cheesy and just felt like pure, quick entertainment. It was giving Hannah Montana movie and I liveeeee for that.

It's very rare for me to say this but I actually think this book could have been longer! I felt like the enemies to lovers vibe just turned way too quickly, and it wasn't so believable because it literally shifted so fast it gave me some trope whiplash.

Regardless of the strange pacing, I still really enjoyed this story and would recommend it!

4 stars!

This was much cuter than the 3rd book in the series. This isn’t your porno read, but it is a quick and adorable romance that depicts the trope of enemies to lovers. If you’ve got some time on your hand or are emotionally wrecked from your last read, this one will do just the job of getting you back into the swing of things.

I may have liked this better if I read it physically, but the audiobook is not doing it for me. It feels kind of childish. She has a hate to love thing with the mayor, but they quickly turn that into attraction. He kisses her, but doesn't want to start anything else because she is eventually going back to NYC. She then is determined to get him to give in to wanting her.

The first half was very entertaining and fun! But the second half was draging and more tell and no show. It was like reading a diary instead of a book. But fun for an inbetween book.

4.5 stars really!

For some reason I was thinking we got the male POV in the other books I’ve read by the author this summer, but this time we did not. That’s okay, it probably made for some of the stuff that got to be slowly revealed, but I would have enjoyed it for sure. We did get to spend some time with characters from the other books though too. I liked the whole enemies to lovers type of story for Samantha and Travis, although that kind of got us past quickly. Then there was the whole how would they be able to overcome the distance since her job was in NYC, and he didn’t plan to leave his hometown because he needed to be there for his mom. Plus he was the mayor now, and seemed to be pretty happy there anyway, even if he did miss things about the city.

I enjoyed all of how their relationship developed, their banter again was good, as well as a lot of fun situations they got themselves into. There was a goat that seemed to want to help Samantha when she was doing her pilates on the porch, I’m surprised she didn’t pull the goat into some goat yoga, lol. The cat was fun as well, and I liked what happened with the animals at the end of the book.

There were a few slow spots for me as I read, but they were quickly overcome by the banter or fun situations. It is closed door bedroom scenes, although we get the kissing and leading up to that and it isn’t left completely off page, so that was a little more my style too. There was also the sheriff who called Travis a weird nickname, Vis-Vis? That was just kind of out there for me.

I really like how they came up with the solution in the end, and the drama for drama’s sake didn’t really occur because they figured out what to fix together, and so that made the ending one I really liked! Another winner from Camilla Isley!

Camilla Isley has done it again! Love to Hate You is a fabulous romantic read, filled with entertaining characters, witty banter, and 12 out of 10 chemistry. It gave me all the feels (as the kids would say) and while this book is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I read it as a standalone, so you know I’m not pulling your leg.

Meet Samatha. She’s a city girl and is extremely irritated when her boss sees her to the set of their latest romantic comedy, because it’s in the small town of Emerald Creek, Indiana. Problems arose that halted shooting, so she’s needed as soon as possible. As she’s making her way from the airport to her accommodations, a cow is stuck in the middle of the road. Meet Travis. He’s a cowboy, who while out for a ride one day, sees a cow standing in the middle of the road and a woman trying to make the animal move. He decides to help her out, and is utterly amused with this woman from the city. Will he ever see her again?

I related to Samantha so hard. I was a city girl who moved to the country and met my husband, so I stayed in the country. I was a fish out of water, and instead of a cow, there was a family of deer in the middle of the road on my first journey. They also did not want to move, and my Dad got a big kick out of my phone call at one in the morning. He also got a kick out of the phone call I made complaining that the entire town smelt like manure. My Dad was a countryman just like my husband is, so I’m getting better, but I still am learning. Clearly, Isley penned a terrific tale that I devoured and was unable to put down. This story is a light yet romantic read that will bring you joy, I highly recommend!

Thanks to the Blog Tour organiser & the publisher for inviting me on the tour.

This is the fourth book in this series, just look at that cover, isn’t it amazing?.

This time it’s Samantha’s story, we met her in the the first book she’s a Movie Producer and worked with Christian Slade on one of his Movies.

Her worse nightmare has come true she’s got to move to Emerald Creek, Indiana for the duration of a movie shoot ( Love to Hate You) to fix a few problems and it’s in the middle of nowhere, think Cowboy Land! and a Movie Set on a real Ranch.

Travis Hunt is the stereotypical Hot and Steamy Cowboy all of us dream about, he first meets Samantha when he rescues her from a cow that’s stuck in the middle of the road, he’s also the son of the B&B owner .

This is a tale as old as time, city girl falls for a country cowboy but do you know what? I loved every single page of it!.

It was SO captivating and sweet, a true romance with some laughs and heartwarming moments.

Another fantastic book by this author.

SO SO GOOD!!!!

this follows samantha, a movie producer who has to temporarily move to a rural indiana town to oversee her latest film. the movie has been delayed due to the mayor stalling permit approvals, so she takes it upon herself to confront him… only for the major to be the cowboy who saved her from a cow just days before.

this was such a joy to read and i loved every minute. it has similar vibes to the hannah montana movie sans the whole pop star double life thing (lol).

it is opposites attract excellence and i can definitely see myself rereading it in the future!

ps i now want a pet goat

For a lot of reasons, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book. So, I went through tall my previous Isley’s reviews and compared. The only other book I’ve given two stars to is Fool Me Twiceand it was mostly just because I wasn’t behind the characters and their particular dynamic. I think that plays another major role here. Though, I did learn to like our MC, Samantha/Baker, she is 100% not my kind of relatable. Sure, I like Starbucks but nothing else about her fast paced NYC- movie producer life, equipped with daily Pilates, kale smoothies, zero dairy and vast designer shoe collection was relatable for me.

I liked Travis though, despite being a little over the top love/swooney towards the end. Hildy (the goat) was by far one of my favorite characters. She really deserved more chapter time.

I liked getting to see Lana and Christian again, they’re delightful. And Matt, the airport bartender, always makes me smile. (Rooting for a Matt story. I feel like all the matches and romances he witnesses at the airport has real potential for something. 🤞🏼)

Here’s the thing, all the things we love about Isley is in this book. There’s even a little over the top romantic ending where Travis rescues her on his stead (that I don’t think was every mentioned until then). I rolled my eyes and smirked at how perfect the “riding into the sunset” line was. 😏 👀. The epilogue is the better ending for me, probably because it’s an animal ending. But it’s really pretty perfect too given the dog=family conversation they had earlier in the book.

I did think as the book came to a close we started getting the fast forward sort of chapters where before we went through all parts of the story. I’m sure that was just to wrap things up, but I notice irregularities. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Overall, it’s not a bad book at all. I just wasn’t as invested as I have been in the past.

This is the fourth in series but can be read as a standalone. This book focuses on Sam, who we met in The Love Theorem. Sam is sent off to Indiana to fix some problems on a movie set. While there, she meets a cowboy lawyer whose family runs the B&B where she is staying. She misses New York fiercely…what New Yorker is used to cows blocking the only street to her B&B? Oh, and the mayor is stalling signing off on their permits to film in public spaces.

This book was lighthearted fun. Enemies to lovers with a touch of forced proximity, likable main characters, excellent side characters, and a very cute goat named Hildi. I loved the mayors “nefarious”reasons for stonewalling production.

if you like sweet romances with low stakes, this is definitely for you. Solid four stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an arc of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

it started off so well bro, like the plot although cliche was working the initial like conflict was funny and the banter was entertaining. But my god the fact that he just magically got over her issues with dating a city girl long term by one fucking naked dress was insane. AND THE INSTA LOVE. HOLY SHIT WHI SAYS I LOVE YOU AFTER 3 WEEKS GODDAMN. idk i was close to dnfing after they called them fucking for the first time making love. And the ending fell so flat, like the unnecessary mentions of the town hall meetings and the zoning issues being magically resolved by her creating a whole ass studio there???? And it was so clear that bro missed the city so bad and miss girl loved and for once it could be the small town boy moving to the big city instead of the girl moving to asscrack of Indiana, like him being mayor and lawyer and whatever made no sense.
I’m just flabbergasted at the fact that I managed to finish this.

Samantha is a city girl from New York who gets sent to a small town in Indianapolis to help get her filming team back on track after being delayed. Turns out the main reason that’s being stalled is because of the town Mayer, Travis. Full on country boy with also a city heart, puts her through the wringer, but slowly bond.

The playful banter and the flirting that these two do is adorable. I will say travis’ character is a bit cliche (in what you normally think of with a cowboy) but I loved it! It’s exactly what I expected and wanted out of him. And Sam’s character really surprised me at the end! Really enjoyed! Overall, I would give a 3.75 ⭐️. I probably would have ranked this one higher if it had more spice, but considering it’s a YA book I would give it a 4.5 ⭐️

A witty enemy to lovers' rom com to entertain and delight for hours! She's a big city girl and he's come home to help his family and town out with no chance to leave soon. He's also decided to be a pain in her side making it harder for her to accomplish her goals and get back to the city where she belongs. However, the longer they spar the more it becomes clear that neither is sure where she belongs. If you are looking for a book with fun dialogue from sparring main characters with a happily ever after, then this is your book! If you love a good Hallmark movie romance, then this book is definitely for you! I can't wait to read more from this series!

Sweet Love and Country Roads is the seventh book in First Comes Love series by Camilla Isley.

I liked this one the most after Opposites Attract, the first book in the series.

It is a sweet, cute and fun enemies to lovers romance set in a small town of Indiana called Emerald Creek. Samantha Baker is in the town for the production of her movie and Travis Hunt is the mayor of this little town and also the son of the owner of Sagebrush Ranch, the place Samantha is staying at.

I listened to the audiobook for like 80% and the rest 20% was print format and I enjoyed it immensely. There was such an intense slow burn in this one, I was dying to see Samantha and Travis together.

Their bickering and the passion and sexual tension it generated was absolutely marvelous. I enjoyed the sweet moments at the fair especially, him buying her the boots was adorable! Honourable mention to the naughtiest cat ever Flully and the cute goat Hildi for making this book so much more fun.

4 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Camilla Isley for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This was another enjoyable story by Camilla. This one was a lovely small town romance. I loved the bond between Samantha and the animals.

There were lots of funny moments and overall I really enjoyed this!
