When terror strikes, forever altering your life, it doesn’t ask permission or forgiveness.
Madeleine and Amélie’s quiet lives are ripped apart by a creature they never imagined could exist outside a horror story. Their mother is murdered, their father is missing, and the only safe haven is with a family full of secrets. But rescue comes at a price.
Ripped from the light of youth, the sisters are forced into the shadows—where they meet brothers Rafe and Rowan.
It’s not the time for infatuation or love, but the heart rarely listens to reason.
Now, the young women have decisions to make. Will they be able to achieve their unified goal of stopping evil, or will it consume them from the inside out?
Tia Silverthorne Bach has been married to her college sweetheart for twenty-four years, has three beautiful girls, and adores living in the beautiful state of Colorado. She believes in fairy tales and happy endings and is an avid reader and rabid grammar hound.

If she’s not writing, you can find her on the tennis court, at the movies, reading a good book, or spooning Jif peanut butter right out of the jar.
Madeleine and Amélie are seemingly normal sisters, until tragedy strikes one night. A weird attack leaves them on their own, wondering who, or what, just attacked their mother. Enter Rafe and Rowan, two brothers who know so many of the answers the girls desperately need. However, as the girls get closer to the brothers, and the truth, it becomes clear that everything is not exactly as it seems.
I've read and loved the other two books in this series, and am so glad Bach decided to give us some more background into two of the most exciting characters. This book not only brought Madeleine and Amelie to life for me, but gave me a much better feel of Rafe and Rowan, who are critical characters in the Chasing Memories and Chasing Shadows.
As always, Bach deftly captures the perfect tone and mood and carries you through this page turner. Highly recommended!
Chasing Forgiveness begs readers to witness the harsh reality of forgiveness. It’s convoluted and complicated. Its difficulty increases when placed within the erratic world of vampires and werewolves. Is it forgiveness or is it some kind of code for creatures of evil? Forgiveness has to be redefined. Novelist Tia Bach does not struggle with this concept in her new novella. As evil hammers its truth into two sisters, Madeleine and Amelie, two brothers, Rowan and Rafe draw battle lines where forgiveness may mean a new beginning or a new end. For followers of the Tala Prophesy, you won’t want to miss this intriguing work by a master in YA writing.
I won this book from Goodreads Giveaway. I am not one that loves fantasy, werwolf or vampires. I did not even finish Twilight. All that being said, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice, easy and very captivating page turner. I kept wanting to go back for more. It is well written! Now, I may need to read the others.

This story gripped me from the beginning. One night Amelie and Madeline's mother was murdered and from that their lives changed. This was a really good novella that made me want to read more about the sisters and Rafe. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop.
I grabbed a copy of this book on Amazon as soon as it hit the shelves. Yes, I'd already read it; I wanted a copy of it forever. It's that good. I'm sure, if you're a fan of the series, you've been wondering about the four characters featured in this story. I was drooling to learn more. Madeline is such a strong personality, and the way she acts around Reagan and Rowan has always had me questioning what was really going on there. Anyway, let's get to the good stuff.
From a Reader's Perspective: I felt for the sisters, Madeline and Amélie, from the first scene. Of course, I'd already developed a little affection for them from the series. Being able to see how close they were to one another, and how protective Madeline is of her sister, brought me a new level of understanding of their characters in general. I like them a lot. They seem like the type of girls I want to hug and slap at the same time. Why slap? Because some of their actions had the "uh oh, this won't end well" feeling. I could see it, but they were clueless (isn't it always more difficult to see your potential errors when you're the one IN the situation?).
Rafe reached a new level of low for me in this story. I had a mad hate on for him before; now, I think I'd strangle him if I could. He's so very evil. I understand why (you'll have to read the books to find out), but that doesn't mean I have to let him off the hook for his actions.
Bach did a great job of pulling me in and showing me the angst each sister struggled with. Not only with one another, but also with their change of lifestyle. There's a sensitive topic in the forefront of this novella. While it's a clean (intimacy fades to black) book, it touches on some squeamish areas for some people. That being said, I think the author handled it with a magic touch. Pacing is great, and you can probably read through this story in an hour or so. It's everything a companion novella should be.
From an Editor's Perspective: Dear me, I hope you don't find any errors. I didn't.
Rating: 1 Star for showing me how sisters can be at odds and still love one another 1 Star for giving me an emotional ride 1 Star for making me despise Rafe even more than I already did 1 Star for treating such a sensitive topic with a gentle touch 1 Star for writing style and pacing Overall: 5 out of 5 stars! Recommended if you like a quick, YA paranormal read that isn't the usual stuff.
I read Chasing Forgiveness during the Booktube-a-thon. It fulfilled the challenge of "read a whole book without letting go of it"...literally. I really enjoyed this novella. It was a little confusing at first with the jumping back and forth between the girls' POVs, but once I got the hang of their individual voices, then it was smooth sailing.
Madeline was the strong and brave sister, whereas Amelie was the sweet and understanding one. Towards the end, I felt sorry for Amelie. I hoped we would get a more detailed look at Rowan's character but since this is a prequel novella, I'm sure he gets more attention in the subsequent novels (which I haven't read YET). Rafe was downright scary. I got a weird vibe from him from the beginning and gave myself a pat on the back that my instincts were right.
This was my first book by Tia Silverthorne Bach and I really enjoyed her writing style. I hope to continue this series in the near future.
When reading books 1-3 in the Tala Prophecy series, you meet Madeline and her sister Amelie but you don't know their full story of how they got to where they are now. This story begins with the attack in their home and the death of their mother. The two sisters become werewolves and the struggles they go through during this time with Rafe and Rowan along with the rest of Hemming's pack. I really enjoyed reading this back story of the two sisters. Can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next in this amazing series!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is an interesting short story featuring two sisters named Madeleine and Amélie whose entire lives change overnight. I haven't read this series before reading this novella. However, this story definitely has me intrigued and as a result of reading this I will be reading the series immediately! I highly recommend reading this story to anyone as I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Great ya book. Lots of twists and turns and the ending has quite a shocker. It is a page turner and quick read with like able characters. Two sisters and two brothers are brought together in a moment of terror but not everything is as it seems, or should I say everyone. Can't wait to read more!
An unique spin added to a paranormal fantasy story. Interesting relationships between sisters. I'm heading on to Chasing Shadows (book two) to see how it all pans out.
What a great beginning. I am the type that wants an ending whether its a stand alone or a series so was upset this story is an on going one. As far as the story its wonderful but unless you have all the books in this series, you'll be disappointed.
I thought this was a great novella. Once I started reading it was hard to put down. I loved reading about Madeleine and Amélie and each of their stories and how the became part of a pact and being a prequel to the Tala Prophecy and how the war started.
5 Outstanding Stars I was given a book in exchange for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

No matter the size or topic of the book Tia Silverthorne Bach never ceases to amaze me at how she can pull you into the story and make you want to just linger there a bit longer. I recommend reading Chasing Forgiveness after Chasing Shadows and before Chasing Destiny so that you can get some back-story on a few of the characters. Even though this was a companion novella it gave quiet an insight on how four of the werewolves interacted before Reagan, or even her grandfather or brother joined the pack.
Madeline and Amélie are sisters. We met Amélie briefly in Chasing Shadows (if you read that before this). These two girls are sisters and it turns out that they were chased out of their house by their first encounter with a paranormal creature, a vampire. It turns out that Madeline knows how to handle herself when it comes to the paranormal world, well on the outside, on the inside she is shaking in her boots. When they come to from "fainting" they are in a cave with Rowan and Rafe. It seems like Rafe and Madeline have a thing going on after Rowan has explained what has happened and they are now apart of the werewolf family. Amélie is really jealous of Madeline and Rafe for some reason and she can not figure out why, however when Rafe and Madeline break things off she goes after him and claims him. Rowan plays the supportive role throughout the story, and is there for Madeline when her world is turned upside down. Rafe has decided he wants to become alpha and challenges anyone and everyone in his wake. Amélie and Madeline both have a certain challenge ahead of them. One will handle it one way and their life turns out for the better, one handles it the other way and their life turns out, well different. What happens when Rafe has challenged the leader for the alpha role? Who does Madeline turn to for comfort? Amélie has a special gift that helps Rafe along his path, what could it possibly be? What are these two sisters facing with the brothers in the pact? Only time will tell and reading this book will help!!
Again I was stunned at how drawn in I was and how much I did not want Madeline and Amélie's story to end. I know it had to end for the other stories to go on. I hope that Tia Silverthorne Bach will continue to write companion novella's so that we can get back stories on a lot of the supporting characters in the Tala Prophecy! I recommend this story to anyone and everyone of all ages!

Although this book was a novella, it was still a good book. If you have been reading the Tala Prophecy series, then this novella will help provide more of a back story on 4 main characters of the series. I enjoyed this story. It was a quick read that explained a lot in regards to the series.
This novella tells us why brothers Rafe and Rowan split. Why one is fighting for good and one for evil. It also gave more back story to sisters that are in the series. I am not going to give you much more information than that for fear that I will give away the entire novella.
I recommend this book as I do the whole series. I can't wait to read more! Keep them coming Tia!!!
This mini novella explains so much you see a side of Madeleine and why she is the way she is with Reagan. Amèlie is introduced to us instead of just mentioned. The bond of the sisters so special and yet torn apart because of a man. Rafe actions make you loath him even more which makes you want to continue reading the series to find out what happens.
