Oh my, the cover models are exactly how I pictured Jared and Renee.
I loved this book. I think the twists were a lot exciting and difficult. I think we could of eliminated the character, Ben. It meant so little (really). I think the ex wife was not entirely to blame but the author treated the situation really well. We could see good things for that situation in the future, for everyone.
Fun stuff, Kat. Keep writing and we'll keep reading.

5 star Review Las Vegas Sidewinders: Jared (# 12) by Kat Mizera
I have only read a couple of books from Kat Mizera and have found them all to be highly entertaining and well written.
Jared Wylde is a divorced former hockey player who has just scored the head coaching position for the Las Vegas Sidewinders. After celebrating winning the cup, he meets and is instantly attracted to another party goer, Renee DeSantos.
Renee is a bestselling romance author who is not afraid to go after what or who she wants. The attraction between Jared and Renee is electrifying and they fall quickly into bed and just as fast find themselves in a relationship that neither were expecting.
Renee is happy in the life she has, the mother of a 19 year old daughter who is studying in Switzerland, she is more than satisfied with the friends with benefits relationship she finds herself in with Jared. All that is about to change when Jared gets the shocking news that his ex wife has died and he has a 9 year old son he knew nothing about.
As Jared and Renee struggle to juggle the intense chemistry between them along with the shocking news of Jared’s paternity and what it means for their blossoming relationship, tensions rise.

Beautiful story of two people finding each other just when they need each other most.
Jared and Renee are pretty much set in their ways, so I loved the surprise when both of them felt the kind of immediate connection that lasts more then one night together. When life throws curve balls at both of them, they learn they don't have to go through it all alone and that they are stronger together. It's a beautiful story of finding love again - and not just any love, but a love they were destined for. Kat does a brilliant job stringing the reader along in such a heartwarming and gut-wrenching way, that not only makes it realistic but also deeply connects the readers to the characters in such a way you can't put the book down. The way she writes vulnerability and angst is crafted us masterful; the reader can only feel heart tugs despite the frustration that occurs when the characters fight their feelings. Expect the usual ups, downs, warmth, unforgettable characters, friendships, and book hangover that comes with reading a Kat Mizera book.

Las Vegas Sidewinders: Jared- Book 13 by Kat Mizera. This is an amazing older aged romance read. This has the heroine who is older at 39 and the hero at 35.
Jared and Renee met at a party and from there, their relationship develops. She is a widow with an 18 daughter while Jared is a divorced former hockey player who has just been made the head coach for the Las Vegas Sidewinders. They caught each other's eyes and it was lust at first sight ...or is it something more? I don't want to give any spoilers away but just know that they have mad chemistry and there is more than 1 tie between them. The road to love is an emotional rollercoaster ride and as always, Kat Mizera has written a beautiful story with feels that will have you rooting for Jared and Renee. A true #Sidewinders read!!!

Having struggled to raise a daughter as a single parent after her husband died, she’s now a best selling romance author with her child in college. She loves her life in Vegas and isn’t looking for anything right now but a little bit of fun.
Jared Wylde is ready to tackle life on his terms. Sidelined ten years ago by an accident that not only ended his professional hockey career but also his marriage, he’s ready to take on his first head coaching job at the pro level. He’s ready to move on from his past and towards a bright new future . . . and a one night stand with a sexy woman is just icing on the cake.
While neither was looking for serious, as they both had baggage, they were ready to look towards the future as a couple as long as they stay on the same page . . . no more kids and a true understanding of the time commitments both of their careers require. Just lots of companionship and fun. But, Jared’s past and Renee’s future come barging in turning their simple, easy relationship into anything but. They’ll both need to decide if this is the path they want to take together or if they are better off going their separate ways.
First of all, I loved that Kat brought readers a more mature couple. It was fabulous to see characters that were nearing 40 and had already lived and learned coming together for a new chance at happiness.
I absolutely loved Renee’s character! She rocks. I love that she took control of her life and did what she needed to in order to raise her child and that she now has a career she loves. She is living her best life now, even if she is a bit lonely. She knows what she wants from her future (at least she thinks she does) and she has a great relationship with her daughter Daisy, even when tough love is needed
Jared is sexy and dominant and a bit of a romantic. He’s just what Renee needs to ease her loneliness. When a huge surprise comes knocking on his door, however, he’s completely overwhelmed and I loved how real the author made that feel. He needs Renee more than ever . . . but can she give him what he needs and keep herself happy? It was a very real emotional struggle and gave amazing depth to the storyline.
As always Kat Mizera has knocked another book out of the park! So much heat! So much drama! Just so so good! 5 stars

I love the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. They are filled with amazingly hot hockey players and the passion they find on and off the ice. Jared is no different. Well maybe a little. You get a little less hockey and more passion and family with this one. I for one am okay with that considering Jared isn't a player but the new coach so there is less teammate dynamic that is needed for the story. This can be read as a complete standalone because of that. But you do still get many familiar faces throughout. I love Jared. He is sweet and level headed and he knows what he wants when Renee enters his world. Renee....I have a love and a little dislike of her. But really I get it once you really read this and get to know her. I do have to say that her relationship with her daughter Daisy is amazing. Renee is an amazing mom and author who is ready for the next phase of her life yet doesn't want a relationship. Then Jared breaks down those relationship walls like no other. You feel for Jared when his world gets flipped upside down and inside out. Watching Renee and Jared navigate this new loop was interesting to watch. You will love their chemistry and how they work together to figure how they manage this new relationship through everything. By the end of this read like all of the books I've read by Kat Mizera my heart was stolen and I fell in love with Jared and Renee like I did the rest of the Sidewinders. This is an amazing hockey romance that needs to be read.

Jared Wylde is tapped to fill in as an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Sidewinders. I almost felt like he was drifting a bit, still bitter about the accident that ruined his professional career and cost him his marriage. When he meets Renee DeSantos, a bestselling romance author, she catches his attention, and she is interested in Jared. Renee lost her husband many years ago but is still afraid to risk her heart in another relationship.
I liked reading what each of them were thinking/feeling while they were unable to be honest with each other, both leery of being hurt. With a nice selection of hockey players and their wives from previous books, plus some new characters, it was really fun to read. Plus there were twists and turns and although I knew they would get their happy ever after, Kat kept me guessing how she was able to get these two together.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

He is coaching a college team when he gets the call that The Sidewinders need an assistant coach for the rest of the tournament season after a heart attack takes out a coach. While he is there he meets Renee. Renee is a friend to all the wives. She is a few years older and an best-selling author. They have an instant attraction and very hot chemistry. Will it be enough to get past the bump coming? This book had a lot going on in it. Very emotional.

Jared is a single guy not looking for any commitments, no way! After what happen to him a decade ago, he prefers it this way. Renee is a very busy person that enjoy and needs her quiet time. She has no time for relationships and they will only get on her way. Neither of them were expecting it. It had only taken to bump into each other and they’re life as they want it will totally change after a secret is reveal to Jared. Will they be able to change their minds on what they wanted on each other’s life?
Like all the stories in this series, this is a beautiful second chance love story! This is a must read book as the whole series is!

So... Jared and Renee meet when Jared goes to Vegas to coach the Sidewinders and they instantly hit it off. These two have so much in common neither wants a relationship or any complications til Jared decides he does. These two have so much chemistry and things going for them. When Jared gets some crazy news he's definitely not expecting Renee takes it better than I thought but you can also see the walls going up. They suck at communicating and making sure they each know whats truly going on. I will say after some time apart they both realize they messed up and fix it.

Jared is a temporary new addition to the coaching staff of the Sidewinders. Renee is an author ( I love this about her) and a friend of the Sidewinders via the wives club. They meet and the sparks immediately fly. It was not smooth sailing for Jared and Renee. When they finally seem to be moving forward Jared is hit with something he never saw coming. Jared stole my heart and his story will stay with me for a while.

The Sidewinder series is the main reason why I started to love hockey romance novels.
As we are up to book 12, all the characters are like family. Even to me. I have laughed and cried with them all with each book.
Jared and Renee’s story is a great addition to this series. Jared has just been announced as the new head coach and is happy to fall into a friends with benefits relationship with Renee.
I loved the banter between these two, and even though they started off casual I knew it wouldn’t take long before they both wanted something more.
Brilliantly written as always, Kat certainly knows how to weave a wonderful tale.

I loved how Kat put in the book, for Renee who is an author to write an series about a hockey team, and make the books about the players on the team. 😊 I also think anyone who makes alcohol infused cupcakes is awesome. My eyes are literally bugging out at all the info the players are spitting out, at the after party 😳 I like how in this book, even though it’s about Jared and Renee it’s also about the families of all the hockey players. So you get to see when one is in need many come to to help. It’s very heart warming.

This was a very entertaining and emotional read. I felt that this book offered an excellent balance between romance and reality. Jared and Renee's story has lots of drama, twists, heat, and emotional turmoil. I felt it was easy to feel the attraction and chemistry between these two and I was quickly pulled into their story. By my own choice I am posting a forthright review.

I really enjoyed this story and all of the characters. Jared and Renee were an unlikely pair that was drawn to each other like magnets. So many obstacles in their way at every turn seeming to break them apart. In the end, they are stronger than ever. Excellent book!

Absolutely loved it..
Renee is an author and has a 19 year old daughter who is away at college in Switzerland.. Jared just got hired as the new head coach of the Sidewinders after filling in as assistant for the end of the last season. When they meet its instant sparks but neither one is looking for a relationship but one night stands are not going to work for them either. When Jared gets unexpected news the first person he needs is Renee and while she is there for him it all is becoming too much. Is love in the cards for these two ?

Once again, Kat has outdone herself. I love the Sidewinders series. It gives me the smoking hot hockey players that I love so much and the real life issues that people in love deal with. I can always relate to Kat's characters and, as always, I couldn't put it down.

Get your wee handheld fan out cause you gonna needs it for the hot times within the book! 🔥 Jared and Renee have already done a lot in life both have been married, both are now single they have an instant that even though they didn't expect it they are drawn to each ....thats the easy part. Things start out simple but then they are tested to almost breaking point and you are turning the page to see if not only will they last but also what will happen with both Braden and Daisy. Definitely get comfy as there is a lot going on in this book and you wont want to put it down until the end and I dare you not to shed a tear with the limousine scene at the end!❤

Renee has been alone since her husband died almost 16 years ago, the last thing on her mind was falling for a smoking hot hockey coach.
Jared is hoping to land the head coach job after being brought on as emergency assistant coach with the Sidewinders in the run up to the Stanley Cup, the last thing on his mind is women. When he is almost literally bowled over by a hot auburn woman he is hooked.
Despite both normally preferring casual relationships they are both hooked and decide to see where things lead. Since neither wants kids (Renee already had a grown-up daughter) things seem perfect but all that could be about to change when Jared learns he has a son he never knew about and who has been left without a family.
Can he step up and be dad to a son he never knew existed? Can Renee see herself with another child or is this a game changer?
Jared and Renee are hot together but twists and turns happen and things change in relationships. A 9 year old son appearing within 2 months of them meeting could prove to be too much for them both.
I love this Sidewinders series and seeing the team dynamic from an outsider's perspective again is refreshing. I love this couple and Braden (Jared's son). Fingers crossed for more from them

Jared and Renee were great for each other! Their relationship was moving along great until the past catches up with Jared and throws his world upside down! Jared and Renee’s story has a lot of drama, twists and hot, steamy, sexiness! This was an amazing story! It grabbed me from the first! I couldn’t put it down! It had twists and turns that keep you reading to see what happens! Thank you Kat for another fantastic book! I can’t wait for the next book!

Jared and Renee’s love story is not an easy road, and both have a lot of things to overcome to allow love in their lives again. Jared, a divorced former professional hockey player, was left by his first wife when he was injured and in rehab. Renee is a widowed single mother to a college student, and a best selling author. She’s had a hard road supporting her daughter and herself while raising her daughter alone. Their relationship is new and fun, but then the hits start coming, and neither are sure whether or not they can weather the storms to be able to be together.

I've been sitting here for a little bit trying to figure out how I wanted to write this review. While I enjoyed this book I also didn't love it. I enjoyed getting to read a book where the hero and heroine were a bit older. Getting to know both Jared and Renee was a treat. They both were established and enjoying life. What I think bothered me the most was that there just seemed to be so much going on. It helped with the family dynamic and getting to know everyone involved. But between Renee/Jared, Daisy/Zio, and Braden there was A LOT going on. The book was also a bit slow. But I did love that you felt like you were actually mixed up in their everyday life. It's also fun to see characters from some of the past books. Makes me want to go back and read what I haven't. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
