In this stunning new book in the Chosen Storm series, Riley Storm must face a deadly enemy while coping with the loss of her soul mate. Riley Storm is Chosen by the gods. Elemental. Powerful. Abandoned. After a lifetime of being unloved and uncared for, Riley finally found someone to believe in and love. A soul mate. The one destined to be with her forever. So when Caleb rejects her right as she needs him most, Riley's left with a shattered heart, questioning where she went wrong. Now she must find a way to pick up the pieces and keep pushing forward with her training because Samael is still out to get her, and he's growing impatient. His army of Fallen grows by the day, poised to take down the Elemental world, and he plans to start with Riley and her family. Can Riley reclaim the confidence she lost, and find a way to trust in herself before it's too late? Or will evil triumph?
I'm so sad with this series and with the fact that it wasn't on ku so I paid for it. . . . Nothing happens in this book and the FMC still hasn't grown a backbone.

I really like this series. The overarching storyline has me hooked and I want to know how it ends. This author is seriously amazing with writing poignant, emotional scenes. Even though the setup was so unbelievable and a bit annoying [more on that below] I still found tears streaming down my checks at the heatbreak the MC was feeling.
There are a few character traits / plot tools that are consistent throughout the series that are not my favorite. It may just be personal preference, and obviously I still enjoy the series enough to keep reading, so I wouldn't let this stop you from checking it out, but here we go: The main thing that bothers me is the MC's over-the-top obtuseness/obliviousness to social norms.
I *know* it's a piece of her back story and a well-explained aspect of her personality, but it's just SO extreme and used *very* frequently as the conflict mechanism, which just feels.... I don't know... a little bit lazy? Like, we can't have any legitimate conflict between characters because they're all just so kind/likeable/whatever. So instead we have misunderstanding after misunderstanding to drive the story forward and her extreme awkwardness is the lynchpin that allows those conflicts to linger(for days? weeks?) rather than being cleared up an hour later.
In this one I was mildly irritated with the whole lot of them. The story picks up more or less where the last one left off - the 2nd book ended on a legitimately believable misunderstanding (no ridiculous over-reaching). But now here we are weeks later and not one of them has pursued getting an actual answer to this 'misunderstanding'? Her dad is understandably pissed that her boyfriend hurt her in some way - but this isn't some stranger who's dating his daughter, it's a guy he's known for years! In any reasonable universe with the history between these characters Dad would say "what did you do?" and when BF says "I legitimately have no idea!" Dad would then pursue it further with his daughter, not blindly ban her boyfriend from interacting with her. Likewise her brother and her best friend are intimately tied to her boyfriend, so why on earth would NONE of them try probing, even a little bit?
I know a decent story needs conflict - I'm frequently mad at wonderful authors for being so hard on characters I love - but the miscommunication here is just so beyond normal, and it truly just doesn't make sense with the very close knit group.

That aside, the overarching plot is fascinating, the sci-fi world is a unique spin on some common themes, and I *feel* this writing in my gut. I can forgive the forced mini-plots.
Riley was only just beginning to believe. She is Chosen by the gods to be the most powerful Elemental leading the others in the fight against the Fallen. She has a family who loves her, a best friend, and a soul mate. She finally trusts in this love. So when Caleb tells her he can't "do this anymore" and walks away, she is left shattered. Trying to pick herself back up Riley is determined to continue her training to be the best weapon possible in the fight against Samael and his Fallen. It's difficult though since her body seems to be hurting as much as her broken heart. She's lost what little confidence she had and with Caleb wanting to be friends she isn't sure she will be strong enough to face her future.
I love this series. I can't get enough of it. I look forward to each new book and once I get a new one, I want to read it from cover to cover at once. I love the Elementals and the Fallen are strong adversaries. I can't stand when opponents are weak. What's the point if the outcome of a fight is never in question? I like Riley. I know that some readers have difficulty with her but they don't understand how well written she is. I work with Survivors. If she walked away from all of her childhood trauma and immediately seemed strong and well-balanced, I couldn't continue reading. She was trained to react certain ways to survive her childhood. She is damaged; her spirit is bruised. She will recover but will likely always carry scars. She has come so far but it's not a straight path. Two steps forward, one back, half a dozen sideways. Her self-doubt, her fears are complex and perfectly natural. She is going to assume the worst because that's what she knows. Be patient with her. Well done Amanda. Riley's family is awesome. Each one seems so genuine. I love the way they love and support her even when she closes herself off. Unconditional acceptance is perfect. The storyline with Caleb was necessarily frustrating. I was thrilled it was resolved before the book ended. I hate when characters have misunderstandings or refuse to talk for the entire book. And I adore Caleb. I realize it's silly to state the obvious since he is Riley's soulmate, but he is the perfect man for her. The scene with Caleb and Rose endeared him to me even more than he already was before. The book is just better when Riley has Caleb by her side.
The book ended with a cliffhanger. Not a horrible one, just mid-story. It was a natural break and had to be done since there is still much more story to come. I am interested to see what is truly happening. I think it could be something different from the obvious. Either way, I look forward to more.
There is a pretty big cliffhanger and I will be waiting for book four but I was pretty disappoint by several plot points that just weren't thought out.
Spoilers ahead
Riley is attacked a mile from her home. She is told they know about her and are coming for her. She is like uber important to the elements. THEY DONT MOVE. They don't even get extra security. They just go home and act like nothing ever happened.
Not only that, they then are like oh! We should go to a remote location alone. Is that a bad idea? No, it's an excellent idea because it is romantic!
The whole thing with Caleb. They know the situation will kill Riley, or Caleb, or both of them and everyone is just like eh we will see how this plays out. For a month. No one says hey just so you know you or he will DIE if you don't work this out so, you know, maybe talk to us about it. They just let them not eat and slowly doe for a month. A MONTH.
Everyone is supposed to be super caring and protective of each other and especially of theory soulmate, unless the harm was done by a god, and then quit whining you big baby. So they literally burned you and you have a scar, roast piggies are funny. WTF.
Riley is supposed to be a massive secret. They discover her secret is out. NO ONE PANICS OR DOES ANYTHING. Seriously nothing. Life goes on exactly as though that revelation never happened. There wasn't even a hey should we talk about this? Naw. okay, cool.
I enjoyed the book, but these things really pulled me out of the story so I wasn't in love with the books telling everyone you HAVE to read this as I stalk Perry's page for updates om book four. It also makes me cautious aboiy starting a new series from her.
So I liked this one better than book 2. However most of the book felt like no plot movement happened. This one read better than the second. In this third installment we see Riley grow more into herself (maybe because I can't relate to her I don't connect well with her struggles). Her rocky relationships are tested further and her family learns how to work with her and grow alongside her. My only real negative is that this book could have been dumb down to a few chapters and then we could get to the crazy end of the world plot. Question: why in the book world do characters get time to prepare for thier trials? Lol. But it's a good read. Check it out and see if you agree.
I was super excited to see this book released because the plot from the previous book had a ton of potential. The beginning of the book Riley fustrated me because she just assumed everyones feeling instead of speaking her mind but I found it to be believable because of her background. I love the whole family dynamic and look forward to seeing them together in ghe next book. The blue flower thing has been driving me nuts since the first time it happened Im so happy it was finished brought up! It was great foreshadowing. I cant wait to see were the plot goes in this my only negative comment is I wish it was longer, I felt like I wanted more before the book ended.
The emotional depth of the MC never ceases to amaze me. Although slightly repetitive and jumps to conclusions faster than a teenager in a tv show, everything serves a purpose - like jumping to a conclusion leads to big misunderstanding. I would love to have a chapter or more from Caleb’s perspective, I think that would show the readers who Caleb is on a deeper level, since we only get Rileys perspective.. Anyways, this book gives readers a few answers, but gives more questions than answers. I’m looking forward to book 4.
I bought all three parts of this series that was published so far and read it as a boxset.
Did I enjoy it ? Yes..
Did I get my closure inspite of reading the three books ? No...
Stretching a book to three is criminal but beyond that is atrocious !! Am I in pins and needles to know what happens next yes.. but Will I buy one more book to see how it goes NO. Why because I had reached my limit of it being stretched. Everything else I really liked about it. It was sweet and romantic. Good flow too.

I love this series!! It's great to find an author that is talented enough to craft a great supernatural story without having to resort to gratuitous sex scenes. I only took away a star because of the cussing. It's not really necessary to the story. I wanted to shake the heroine a few times for the misunderstandings in the story, but it makes it seem true to her history that she would think that way. I am eagerly waiting on the next book.
Not a bad read for the third book. This one mostly focused on the relationship between Riley and Caleb. Not much was seen on her working with her powers and dealing with the future conflict. There was a bit on it but not a lot. The main plot seems to be moving at a slow pace as Riley learns to trust her family and where she and Caleb stand. There was a bit of action and we were left with a cliffhanger.
Ok. First. Loved this book. Riley is finally able to talk about he feelings. But it takes a few weeks and things are unnecessarily complicated from well meant outside interference. Things seem to be going much better and she gets to have her first date with Caleb when it’s mysteriously interrupted! And then the book ends!!!!! There hasn’t been a new one in two years! I didn’t know this had a cliffhanger! I got so attached and ate this series up and now there’s no ending. Nooooooooooooo
Ya. Paranormal. M/F. Elementals. I liked this one a lot more than the second one. Its focus was more of cementing Riley's family. She finally makes some leaps with her communication issues and we get to see a bit of Chosen plot (emphasis on a bit). Still liking it though, Riley is a pretty pure soul that you cant help but like.
Things get better in this book thankfully but it takes about 1/2 way through before we get some resolution. Riley is becoming more sure of herself and confident. I like that she is starting therapy as well and trusting more. We meet Samuel finally... And it ends on a big cliffy.
Good book overall though might have been better served as a 2.5 novella as there was very little actual story line in this, and mostly sorting out relationship issues.
That being said, is this series still being continued? I can't find any news about a next book or if the author is still active.
Despite another cliffhanger, it was so good!! I love the story building it has and the character growth. Also, I love that it’s slow burn to be honest as it makes you get to know the character better... though I wish there was just a little more lol! Hoping the next book comes out soon!
Since the first book, I fell in love with this series. I don't want to give away this book but this book will make you cry and then root. Riley starts off so damage and scared in the first book then become so strong you don't want to miss this book.
I absolutely love this series I never want it to stop. I love the characters. They are so well developed. I love that it makes you go through all the feelings you cry laugh. I definitely recommend this series I cant wait for the next one.
This story just grabs you and keeps you until the end. Riley is living on a rollercoaster, one minute things are up in the air the next it's smooth sailing and then all of a sudden rough weather appears. Can't wait to read the next book.
I like this series, and this 3rd book is good. It focuses more on the relationship between Riley and Caleb with a few (and I mean few) bits of action and plot progression. I will continue with this series because Amanda Perry has yet to let me down. This book ends in a cliffhanger
So much better then book 2 I really didn't care for that one at all. This one got back to the plot I almost gave up on it but this one bought me back a lot more action and little more info all round better then 2 so I am looking forward to 4.
amazing from start to finish I love how this book works with Rileys misplaced guilt and it shows how she trusts her family after what happened in the last book
Yay- finally moore og Riley’s story! And it’s as good as the other books. I’m really looking forward to see what’s going to happen to her and her new family!
Another great installment in this series. The MC still bugs me a bit. And the plot is still somewhat predictable, but boy oh boy was that some cliffhanger! I will need the read the next to find out what happens!
