THE TEMPLAR CODE HAS BEEN BROKEN, RISKING THE VERY FUTURE OF THE ORDER. NOW IT’S A RACE AGAINST TIME TO UNCOVER THOSE RESPONSIBLE.
An awkward young man uniquely adept at recognizing patterns has broken the Templar’s secret code used to securely transfer wealth across Europe and the Holy Lands.
His only motivation is to help his family and those in need, yet when he forges Letters of Credit to transfer small amounts from the wealthy Templars to his struggling neighbors, his noble plan is discovered and twisted into something far more sinister.
A plot to destroy the Templars once and for all.
And when an old friend arrives on their humble farm to investigate the forgeries, Sir Marcus de Rancourt and his men are drawn into a conspiracy that if not stopped, could change the power structure of Europe for centuries to come, and destroy the Knights Templar without a single blade drawn.

Another brilliant instalment in this enthralling series. You cannot go wrong with this series. It really is captivating, suspenseful and the message and event in history that it is based on are well done.
So glad there will be more of them. I would love to have them never-ending!
What an Excellent book! Even with a stereotypical 'Scooby Doo' ending!
J. Robert Kennedy wrote another stunning Templar Detective novel. The way he crafts everything together is masterful. Oh...the Scooby Doo reference...I simply love it at the end when Sir Marcus absolutely exasperates the characters waiting (with baited breath) for him to lay out exactly WHY he knows what he knows! Reminds me of when Fred and the gang would say: "Zoinks! It's old man Mr. Kennedy, the failed playwright!". All we are missing is the And guys exclamation afterwards: "And I would've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling kids and that darn dog!" I think Tonya qualifies here...gotta love the old girl! Just like all his series...it was a book I did not want to put down! It would be awesome to connect Professor Acton and Sir Marcus in a book...but I honestly cannot think how to do that unless a historian discovered a Templar crypt with his remains, etc. Hey...it could work...
Another thrilling adventure from this curious templar and his loyal friends. A gripping novel, with a solid plot involving templars, hospitallers, spies, intrigues and plenty of action. These stories are very well set in XIII century, developed by a cast of characters really interesting and well defined. Really enjoyable, as the four previous novels of this collection were.
I was given my first Templar Detective book as a birthday present, the second as a gift for caring for the same persons mother for eight and a half years. My son bought me three for Christmas and I bought the last two. I am utterly addicted and hope there will be more. Like the other books before I couldn't put them down. Please, please write some more soon. xx
I love this series! Mr. Kennedy is very talented in providing a interesting and entertaining story. Sir Marcus is a wonderful character with exceptional deductive skills. I look forward to the next book. Thank you Mr. Kennedy!
Once again from the beginning the reader feels (myself) as if they are taking part. The clever and misleading hints gradually bring the fabulous hero to the correct solution.
This was billed as "historical fiction," and I suppose it was. But set in the time of the Crusades, it is difficult to discern fact from fiction. I note that this same plot could be set in the present day when applied to cryptocurrency and blockchain.
I was lucky enough to have gotten a ARC copy of this book from the author. I am volunteering to leave this review. Fantastic book takes you back to times of the Templar and a great who done it.
