Always remember the lies I’ve told. Never trust anyone.
Shadows of my past still cling to me like filth. No matter how far I try to run, it’s always there—a dark reminder of the secrets I carry.
The walls I built around me are there for a reason. So when Jackson starts breaking them down brick by brick, I fall deeper into him, breaking my own damn rules.
I should have known better. I shouldn’t have let my guard down. By letting Jackson become a part of my life I allowed the shadows to sink their claws into him as well.
My secrets are hanging by a thread, and it’s only a matter of time before they’re exposed.
Murder wasn’t my first choice…but we do what we have to in order to survive.
Jagged Edges is the second book in the Shattered Fate series; this is Mia's story. *Contains sensitive subject matter and graphic scenes*
In Shattered Edges, Mia was mysterious and kept everyone, including Ashley at an arm's length. We didn't get to understand Mia's past... until now. Jagged Edges takes place right after Shattered Fate, a year after Ashley's journey starts. Mia fights falling in love and forming a lasting relationship while she tries to face the fact that after 10 years, she can't keep running. Mia is a conundrum, but in a way that makes you love her. Ashley's story may have been domestic violence, but Mia's running from something much darker and more confusing.
I received Shattered Fate and Jagged Edges by T.L. Anderson for free in return for honest reviews. These opinions are my own.
Title: Jagged Edges Author: T.L. Anderson Format: ebook Genre: Romantic Suspense, dark Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Book 2 of the Shattered Fate series POV: Mia Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty 5/5
Jagged Edges, the second book of the Shattered Fate series features Mia, who we met in the first book Shattered Fate. You don't need to read Shattered Fate first but I recommend it so you get to know Mia and some of the other side characters.
Jagged Edges was just as gripping and haunting as Shattered Fate. The twists and turns were throughout. Mia is such a strong character - a fighter and a survivor.
This book isn't for the faint of heart: It's dirty and gritty. Mia's emotions and struggles are palpable. However if you're looking for a fantastic read by a great new author then pick up this series where the women are strong, fight to survive, and learn to love after trauma.
I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This is a new author to me, and I am very happy that I decided to read this book. The author has an amazing way of utilizing words so that I was pulled into the story and at times it seemed to literally fly off the screen with a vivid image in my mind. This is a wonder story of what happens when two broken souls meet and begin to rear down the walls exposing secrets that should never have seen the light of day again! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This one was much better than the first and I am happy I didn’t give up on this author. The plot was more thought out and flowed properly resulting in a much less confusing read. I would’ve given it a full 5 stars, but there were quite a few literary errors such as plurals being used in the wrong places and apostrophes being used at the wrong times. Regardless, this novel was definitely worth the read and I will be selecting another publication written by this author to read 😊
This is my first book by this author, not sure what to think. I started reading and was impressed. It pulls you in and makes you feel. Not always good, it brings your emotions out. The characters are damaged and lost. When they find each other can the walls come down and they help each other find a life with love and contentment. It is worth the read and I recommend it to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
Book 2 is the story of Mia. I loved her character in the first book. A healthy dose of bad ass mixed in with a dash of brokenness and she continued that trend in book 2.
I love have T.L. Anderson sucks you into her stories. She has a way with creating the perfect escape that breaks you heart but in the end leaves you feeling like you got the ending you deserve.
I don't want to put in any spoilers in this review but this book has a little bit for everyone and is for sure worth the read!
Mia is a woman who was placed in a situation that changed the course of her life. Time and time again events out of her control sent her spinning and eventually forced her to run from the only family she had left and take residence at a women's shelter. After living the past few years with a life built on lies, she is finally able to find love in Jackson. Unfortunately, just when everything seems perfect, her past comes back kicking and swinging.
Loved this book but I feel like it focused more on the drama rather than the relationship. I just wish there was more building on the romance but it’s still a good book. My heart hurts for Mia and everything she had to go through with Jake. Love Mia and Jackson together!
This book is Mia's story. She is a loose cannon and her need to take revenge on her brother and try to save him at the same time. Mia single handed to take out the drug Lord that destroyed her family. Ok so this is the focal point of the story.
I liked it. It had lots of drama, character development, length was great, and the writing was done well. I look forward to more books by Miss Anderson.
