“You know my family. It’s full of secrets we’d never want the world to know…”
In the Great House of Collinwood Amy Jennings and David Collins are finally putting years of tragedy and loss behind them and committing to a life together. And, as the ceremony approaches, friends old and new are drawn to the town at the edge of the sea.
Once again, the tortured vampire, Barnabas Collins, is amongst them. But this time he is not alone. After so many years away, Doctor Julia Hoffman has returned with him, finally convinced she has the means to cure his affliction.
But joy and happiness never last long in Collinsport, for malevolent forces are never far away. Among those gathered for the celebration are some who would conspire to tear the family apart. In this town some wounds refuse to heal, some secrets demand to be heard, and some sins cry out to be punished.
Welcome back to Collinsport. Until death do you part.
A grand wedding at Collinwood is coming together and Amy Jennings and David Collins are very happy, but with old friends returning and new friends coming to town. Trouble isn't too far away...
EPISODE SEVEN: In the year of our lord 1767, Tom Cunningham has been sent to the past not knowing why or how. He meets a young woman Sarah Filmore and a relationship Blossoms. But a familiar figure is at the house of Collinwood in the year of our lord. A figure thought long gone. But there are bigger issues to worry about, residents of The Collins Family are finding themselves in the past, without knowing why... This was a fantastic episode, more of a historical romance kind of story which I really liked. 10/10
EPISODE EIGHT: Across the past and the present, a mystery is slowly unfolding but still nobody has the answers to what's going on or who's behind them. This was a great episode with seances, love and Barnabas' vampire curse. 10/10
EPISODE NINE: As more of the family is lost in the past. The situation grows grave at Collinwood and everyone and the history of The Collins family is at risk. Wow, this series has all of a sudden got very complex with time, something of which I had never expected from Dark Shadows even though Time Travel is a key element to the series. A juicy complex episode where the fabric of the Collins Family history is in danger. 10/10
EPISODE TEN: Wow, what a brave experiment of a story this is! With most of our characters scattered across the history of Collinsport, they all have one thing in common, a recording device. The same recording device throughout history and they altogether record their incidents from the past. This is a bunch of clips from the past into one audio and it's brilliant! So many little stories and references in to such little time and it's done so well. 10/10
EPISODE ELEVEN: With more people getting lost in time, Amy Jennings might have just found a way of bringing them back. Meanwhile Julia and Quentin must go after Barnabas before his hunger grows worse and before it's too late. This was a really good episode with great scenes and one terrifying scene in particular. 10/10
EPISODE TWELVE: Finally we're at the start of the endgame. A game has been played on the Collins family for so long and now it's moving towards the end. Questions are being answered but the answers are shocking. This was a really great episode with a shocking ending. 10/10
EPISODE THIRTEEN: Wow, what a finale! The culprit has been revealed and only Barnabas and Julia are left to stop them! This episode concluded so many threads in the Dark Shadow's audios, dor example Barnabas being back in his normal body with a great little recording of Jonathan Frid at the end. Characters are finally back in their own time and rightful place. There was a nice cameo from Angelique Bouchard and the ending was fantastic. If Big Finish decide to stop doing Dark Shadows anytime soon. I wouldn't mind because the conclusion for this set truly felt like a solid ending to Dark Shadows for me! 10/10
Overall a very solid series, the writers alongside the actors and directors and of course the series' brilliant script editor Josepth Lidster have produced one of the best things Big Finish have done in a long time!
I very much enjoyed this. Very soap-opera in tone, and very Dark Shadows in execution. I thought having such a large group of characters spread throughout various periods in time would be over-much, but it really wasn't. This was a lot of fun to listen to. The characters visited interesting times in the past (and one got to witness Paul Stoddard's "murder" and Jason McGuire's coverup).
David disappears from the alter and nobody remembers him. He's not the only one. One by one a member of the collins family disappears to the past. Will people remember them. Will they get back and who is doing it.
