Angel of the Crypt
I’m a fallen angel damned to walk the Earth alone with nothing but my own shame keeping me company. I’ve learned to accept my fate…until I cross paths with a demon hunter.
The universe tries to convince me that the hunter is my soulmate. But I can’t accept that. Not only is Ronin a demon hunter touched by angels, he’s also human. The vessel that carries his soul isn’t strong enough to survive our love. To survive me.
No matter how hard I try to push him away, he’s determined to prove that we can beat the odds against us. But I’m not willing to take that chance. What kind of being would that make me if I risked his life so I can escape my eternal loneliness—even just for a short while?
Unfortunately, it seems that we might not have a choice. There’s a threat looming over the Heavens, and it’s up to Ronin and me to put a stop to Lucifer and his plan to gain power.

So what do I love to write about? Well, whatever takes my fancy to be quite honest. I'm not one to write for the market - I write for myself, what comes from the voices, sorry - muses, in my head, and what I think are unique twists in this repetitive world.
As a result, you can find me scattered across genres from steamy romance to dark fantasy and horror. My only hesitance at the moment is sci-fi but I'm sure I'll tackle it some day!
Conspiracy theories, the supernatural, and the darker side of human nature fascinate me. I adore mythology and ancient history too, and also (only when I'm feeling intellectual) tend to dip my toes into quantum physics to better understand theories of the supposed impossible.

This is the story of Makeysha who was in heaven until she was banished to earth because she couldn’t pick a side Gods or Lucifer’s so god banished Lucifer and the angels that took his side and Makeysha who thought that they were both wrong. Ronin is a hunter he hunts vampires, demons etc the angels came to earth and gave certain humans powers to help fight evil and the powers were passed along bloodlines for generations, or if you married into another hunter family your children were going to be very powerful. Ronin went to New Orleans to see a witch he just went to please his mother she told him that he had eyes of angels and that he was very powerful, the witch said shh and that’s when Ronin’s hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he knew that it was a vampire. Ronin chased the vampire into a cemetery he chased it into a crypt and then he fell on a bed that felt like it was made of clouds, then he heard a scream and the vampire turned to ash. Ronin slowly turned around and there was the angel that hunters told their children about he thought that it was a myth but standing in front of him was the beautiful angel Makeysha. Wow what a fascinating story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I loved this book! The twists and the romance, and the comedy between the characters. The story line was brilliant, this is my first book from C J Laurence and I intend to read more.

Angel of the Crypt is a well written paranormal romance by Author C. J. Laurence. Like many of her other paranormal titles the author does not fail to deliver on everything that fans adore about this genre, and in this story she introduces yet another spin to the typical storytelling of myths and legends. The war between Heaven and Hell, God and Lucifer and the fall out of their wrath and ego, as one is intent on usurping the other, and proving who is the all powerful, is a plot that has been delivered by many writers, each bringing their own twist to this story arc. However I must say that I particularly loved the way that C.J. brought their individual characters to life, injecting personality, and highlighting both strengths and flaws, thus making them more real and engaging, although they are not the main characters of focus in this telling.
The protagonist is an Angel called Makeysha who refuses to take sides in the current disagreement between Lucifer and God. Caught in the crossfire she is cast out of Heaven and forced to walk Earth alone, helping souls transition over. As matters escalate in Heaven, Makeysha is soon drawn back into the feud with the clever manipulation of the Fate Sisters. As the only Angel who had the strength and tenacity to stand up to both Lucifer and God, the Fates orchestrate events and encourage Makeysha to take matters into her hands to settle the feud and restore order. With the support of her soul mate, Ronin who is half angel, Makeysha can undo what Lucifer has set in motion, but her bonding with Ronin brings its own complications and a major decision must be made. A decision that can only be reached with a ‘sliding doors’ effect as she sees what the consequences are of making the wrong decision.
The plot grips from the beginning and moves at a great pace. There is much to entertain readers and keep them engrossed in the book as it progresses, and readers will love the characters introduced and invest in their stories. The dialogue is credible and there are no significant issues to detract from the pure enjoyment of the story. Unlike some of C J’s other titles this story is not intended for young readers as there is an inclusion of a mature ‘Adult’ scene, however this is the only scene in the story that would preclude a younger reading audience, and takes place quite far into the story. I would therefore highlight that Angels of Crypt is for a reading audience of 16+.
I really enjoyed reading and award a well deserved 5 stars.

I love any story about Angel's and Demon's, God and the Devil, but when it's written with such originality I'm hooked!
C. J. Laurence is a new author to me, and I'm really happy I decided to break out of my comfort zone and read this.
Makeysha is a fallen angel, one God cast out of Heaven because she wouldn't pick a side between God and Lucifer along with other Angel's who took Lucifer's side and Lucifer himself.
Ronin is a demon hunter, he hunts any evil creatures who wish to harm humans. He is a human with powers that have been passed down the bloodlines for generations
The story had me right from the beginning...the forbidden love, the fighting to save humanity...it had so many things that I think everyone would love at least part if not ALL of it!
Hope there will be more books like it.

I must admit that I have not read a paranormal romance book in awhile but this one was a great book to pull me back into that genre. I found myself pulled right into the story from the beginning. I also enjoyed the different spin that the author uses to create their own originality. I found that the book was well written with great characters. The story had a smooth flow in having our characters meet, struggle come together to then have to face separation in an impossible war. Great book!

I enjoyed reading Angel of the Crypt. The writing and storyline was incredible! The take of how God and Lucifer fell apart in Heaven and why, to how and angel caught in the middle came to be who she was meant to be. I loved her interaction with Hunter, Ronin and how they both are made for much bigger things together. Wonderful story, well worth reading!

If you are a fan of paranormal and supernatural then this is the book for you. I was drawn in and could not put the book down until the end. For those who miss supernatural and following the Winchesters then this is the book for you. The author will transport you into the adventure of a fallen angel who falls for a human. Great book. I will definately be reading more by this author.

A different type of good vs. evil where one of the Good is a fallen angel and the other Good in the equation is a demon hunter going against Lucifer himself.

This was an interesting book. Kept my interest from the first page to the last. Intense storyline. Multi layered characters. Felt like I knew the characters personally by the way the author told their story. I loved this!!

Angel of the Crypt by C.J. Laurence is a great story to read. If you like reading about demon hunters and angels then this story is definately for you.I recommend this story to all who love reading about demon hunters, angels, fantasy and paranormal romances in their stories.

I loved loved loved this book! I love books that are action packed and have a super well done and well thought out story. This author made super new ideas and presented them in a really great way. The writing was excellent, the characters were all very well done. It’s one of those books that you don’t want to put down. I can’t wait to read more of this authors books!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Angel of the Crypt by C.J. Laurence. I really enjoyed this read. This isn't your typical good versus evil story. Fallen angels, demon hunters, lucifer and an agenda that brings some interesting twists. A great anytime read that packs on the entertainment.

This was a very different view on angels and supernaturals. It also had a very original view on the fall of Lucifer and the war between Lucifer and God. There was plenty of action to keep your interest.

This book drew me in right from the start. Very descriptive and hauntingly beautiful. Very different approach to the whole heaven and hell story. Would be interested in more of this author's work.

A unique paranormal romance. The writing was good, and I enjoyed the story. It is an interesting story with angels and demons. Low spice. I will be reading more by this author.

I really enjoyed this different twist on heaven, hell, and in between. The balance of good and evil balance precariously on the shoulders of one angel. An angel who has been banished to earth to reside between heaven and hell for not being able to see just one side but both. An easy book to get sucked into and held until the last page.
