Great introductory text. Excellent visualization of the topography

Very accessible text. The writing is engaging and draws the reader in for more. An excellent visualization of the topography is included in each chapter.

Can be a tad repetitive in some of the descriptions but that doesn't take away from anything.

A list of primary and secondary sources follows each chapter with an appraisal of their merits - this is pretty helpful if you want to go down some rabbit holes.
