I was devastated when Maggie left town for nursing school.
Yeah, sure, we were only innocent high school friends back then.
Besides, I had big plans for my future, too.

I tried to put Maggie out of my mind…
I tried to replace her with a new love.
It didn’t last, and I started hitting the bottle.

Four years later, we ran into each other, literally.

Now, I can’t take my eyes off her and those luscious curves.
This time, I vow to make Maggie all mine.

I can’t believe the guy driving that delivery truck is so careless.
What a jerk!
I’ll give him a piece of my mind!

Oh, my God. It’s Marty… Marty LaFleur!
Wow, how he’s changed!
I try not to lick my lips, but I can’t help it.
And he still has that incredible fun-loving smile.

Right now, I’m on spring break…
Time to catch up on old times
And dream of having him… Well, you know.
But my nursing intuition tells me something isn’t quite right.
I’m worried about his health. I want us to be together forever...

No more ‘goodbyes.’

Will Marty listen to me, or will he think I’m just a know-it-all student nurse?

The author portrays the character of an alcoholic very well. Both had big dreams but only one stayed tje course. Will Marty continue to blame her for his epic failures or will he embrace her and her wisdom and seek help before he loses her again for good this time. The book ends on a semi HFN ending.

OMG – I love that this book was short and sweet. This is Maggie’s story and again it starts during Mardi Gras as it did with her best friends Zoe and Abigail. Each found their new love during this time frame. As I believe this is the last book of the Spring Fling Series, I would hope that there is one more that connects them all as Zoe & Aiden; Abigail & Alejandro and now Maggie & Marty deserve a nice send off.

I loved that this book talked about incorporated medicine and flowers as one thing can always heal the other. Marty’s family is in the flower business and he has been working with them all of his life. Maggie on the other hand is gone off to college to be a nurse. They were once great friends with a summer romance before she headed off to college. They didn’t keep in touch but she knew he married and she was just left with her studies. Well here come Mardi Gras to reunite them and it does it in a special way. She not only studies to be a nurse, she lives with it in her heart and knows when something doesn’t look right. I’m glad that this book dealt with cancer and alcoholism, it brings new perspective to just a romance book, it brings reality to things we don’t like to acknowledge or talk about. This is a must read and again I truly hope there is a final book for them all with a big wedding for all three.

Love conquers all !!!

This was the third book in the Spring Fling series. They are about three best friends and sorority sisters living together at Tulane University in New Orleans. J.P. Comeau cleverly wrote them to be occurring at the same time. While it's not necessary to read them in any particular order, it helps to know that they are taking place simultaneously.
Lovesick is about senior nursing student, Maggie. In a few short months, she be graduating from Tulane and then hopes to stay in New Orleans with a full time nursing career. During a weekend trip home for Mardi Gras, she literally runs into her high school crush, Marty. Unlike Maggie, Marty decided not to go to college and instead stayed in Lafayette to learn and help run the family flower business. Over the few days they are together, the two reconnect their friendship and decide they want to see where it may lead. They soon discover that while careers and distance may pose to be difficult, their biggest obstacle comes when Marty visits his doctor.

Lovesick is the 3rd book in the Spring Fling Series by Ms. Comeau. I have read all of Ms. Comeau's works up to this point, I truly enjoy the depth that she gives all of her characters and her stories are very well written.

Lovesick is in a way a Second Chance Romance as the characters Maggie and Marty dated the summer after graduating High School but broke up when Maggie went away to college. Both Maggie and Marty continued to think of each other but didn't pursue anything because of the physical distance and the differences in their expected careers. Until....... Maggie returned home for a visit and literally ran into Marty in a hotel parking lot. The reuniting of this young couple was sweet and wonderfully written. The story doesn't have the typical angst you expect in this type of story. It does show what true love means and gives us, the readers, hope.

I recommend this and all of Ms. Comeau's works. She is an excellent writer and I look forward to more of her works in the future.

This is a story of being in the right place at the right time. Maggie Fontenot is a nursing student at Tulane but always returns to spend Mardi Gras with her family. Marty LeFleur works for his family business, LeFleur Floral and both he and Maggie have a history together. They liked each other in high school but never acted on it. At a stop sign, Maggie literally runs into Marty in his work van. She sees this as an opportunity to find out if there's anything between her and Marty. Marty has never changed his feelings toward her and this is a prayer answered. When they are together, Maggie notices a lump and tells Marty he just has to have it checked. Again, she's in the right place at the right time. As a nurse, there is no one better to help him through this and their future seems bright. As long as he is healthy, they will have their wishes come true. A special story that includes some special people that we've met in the previous books in this series. Very well-written with characters whose love and friendship are felt throughout.

She harps, whines and repeats when she gets something in her head. Marty has stayed at home learning his families Florist business. Can they find true love, survive living long distance apart and something even bigger, the Big C. You'll have to read this book to find out how everything pans out for Maggie.

This book is the 3rd in the Spring Fling series involving a group of friends at Tulane. Maggie is a nursing student close to graduating. During Mardi Gras, she heads home to Lafayette to spend some time with family and literally runs into her old boyfriend Marty LaFleur. His family owns a flower business and he was being groomed to take over when Maggie left for nursing school. Separate careers, separate paths. When they meet again, the chemistry they had 4 years ago is still there, in fact, it's hotter!!! Now they are both thinking of the future.... Then Maggie noticed a lump on Marty's neck (ever the vigilant nurse-to-be). She convinces him to see a doctor. What will be found? Will it affect their future? Will it draw them closer or further apart? Read this sweet story. I did wish for an epilogue.

Maggie and Marty dated the summer after they graduated high school but broke up when she left for college. Now years later they literally run into each other in a fender bender and reconnect. While on spring break Maggie spends whatever time she can with Marty. They start dating and things heat up and Maggie feels a lump on his neck one night. She tells him that he needs to have it looked at. When he gets it checked out it turns out to be cancerous and he ends up where Maggie is finishing her last rotation for nursing school. Will he tell Maggie about his diagnosis? What will this mean for their relationship?

This is an emotional story that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The chemistry between the is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is the third book in J. P. Comeau's series set in New Orleans. This story is about Maggie, a graduating nursing student and Marty, an old boyfriend from her hometown of Lafayette. They bump into each other (pun intended) when Maggie returns home to Lafayette for Mardi Gras. After reconnecting, Maggie and Marty discover that the chemistry they had in high school blazed back to life. Besides the physical distance between New Orleans and Lafayette, a new issue with far-reaching consequences rears its ugly head and threatens their relationship and the opportunity of an HEA ending.
The author brought these characters to life with all the flaws and foibles found in everyday people. They are relatable on every level: the insecurities, uncertainties and the deep capacity to love. As a master storyteller, J. P. Comeau brought her A-game in this book.

Marty and Maggie had dated in high school but she went off to college while he stayed home to help with the family flower business. Four years later the literally crashed into each other. The fender bender was just the start of things to come.

This is a beautifully crafted contemporary romance with some steamy scenes set in. The author expertly weaves the realistic and interesting characters that are facing real life crises Into a wonderful love story. This is an easy read and can be read in one evening if your in the mood for a feel good story with an that will take you for an emotional Ride. I found this book to be well written and left me feeling uplifted. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with a bit of heat.

Maggie and Marty were dating one summer but then Maggie left to go to nursing school, she comes home for Mardi Gras but Maggie goes through a stop sign and she hits a flower truck. Getting out to give the driver of the flower truck a piece of her mind but it’s the last person she expected to see it’s her old flame Marty LaFleur who still has that gorgeous smile. They give each other a hug and Maggie feels a lump on the back of Marty’s neck and now Maggie’s nursing instincts kick in, but will Marty tell her it’s fine it’s no big deal or will Maggie keep pushing him to get it checked?. This is a fantastic second chance romance and I enjoyed it and I definitely recommend this book.

I love how this story starts with Mardi Grad and getting Zoe ready for her party. Taking us back to the first book in this series. This time the focus was on Maggie and her chance at finding love at the same time that her two best friends find it all at different places.
Maggie is able to reconnect with her high school sweetheart and they find their way back to each other. However not without some pitfalls during their romance.
I highly recommend this book to be put on your TBR. It is heartwarming with a side story to the love they find.

Their second chance at love takes a little extra time.

High school sweethearts meet again at their hometown.  Maggie is in nursing school.  Almost ready to graduate.  After her and Marty's seeing each other again she notices something that doesn't feel right on his neck.  Something that she urges him to get checked out.
Marty gets results of the tests and they are not good.  Maggie stays by his side and gives Marty her support.  Their second chance doesn't come easy but the chances that they can be happy are there.
I definitely recommend this book to be read.  Fantastic book.

A bit dramatic but essentially tender
3.5
I liked this well written story, mixing an old love and a point a little more dramatic related to the health of one of the characters, but all at the same time seemed a bit simple.
Maggie returns for the holidays in her hometown and she finds a former boyfriend who divorced, Marty. Immediately they fall in love with each other again, but Maggie who is a student nurse worries about Marty's drinking and discovers another alarming point.

This is the third installment in the spring fling series. I have had the privilege of being able to read all 3 books in the series so far. Ms. J. P. Comeau is an amazing author. She has the ability to make her characters come to life. They have amazing chemistry. The story flows smoothly throughout. Plus this is a second chance at romance. Each book gets better and better. Pick up this book and you won't be disappointed.

Friends to lovers to potentially more. This is the third book in the spring fling series. Flawless cutesy story but for some reason I far preferred the first two books. Maybe I'm just a bit overtaxed at the moment so I was likely not drawn in like I usually am by this amazing authors' craft. Still a good read though with the sensitive & emotive subject of cancer, luckily caught early enough. It was quite sobering, literally & figuratively. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

Heart-warming and sweet

Continuation of the Mardi Gras series of stories of three college friends from Tulane University. This one is for Maggie who attends nursing school.
I love to read heart-warming and sweet stories. They always made me feel that there's hope and that love can conquer all. What I liked most about this was that there's no angst and one twist that would send most people running away from starting any kind of relationship kept Maggie with Marty and cemented their fragile reconnection. Great, quick, very well paced read.

Lovesick. A very moving love story. I could feel the love flowing from Maggie for Marty ever since they rekindled their friendship. This is the sort of friends to lovers relationship everyone should encounter in their lives. The characters were so believable and they captured your heart as you read their story. This was the third book in the Spring Fling series. The series tells the stories of three best friends and sorority sisters living together at Tulane University in New Orleans. All three books take part in the same time span between Mardi Gras and the summer. This is the story about second chance love. Maggie is studying to be a nurse and goes home to Lafayette to visit her family. She runs into Marty, her first love. They rekindle the love that neither has been able to forget. Maggie helps Marty with a serious health issue before these two are able to find their happy ever after.

I liked this well-written, quick and easy, second chance romance. The storyline has some drama, chemistry, and finally a chance for a HEA. The main characters were school sweethearts and one leaves the other behind, but with a little help from the fates, a second chance appears. I found this short read to be fun, entertaining and engaging. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

This story started off like so many others with a couple who had dated in school and then moved away only to reconnect later. Then it turned into so much more. I loved Marty and Maggie both as a couple and in their own right. I'm not going to give the storyline away. It was a surprise to me and it should be to you. Well worth reading.

I really enjoyed this story of a second chance at love. Marty and Maggie split up after high school, but run into each other, literally, when she comes home for Mardi Gras. The old feelings are still there, but they will have to deal with a long distance relationship, along with other issues that could tear any couple apart.

Loved it!

What's not to love. All J.P. books are amazing. This one tugged at my heart strings just a little more. It was great the friends reconnected, then turned to lovers which they always were it showed a little more now that someone needed to be shown. Read this & you will understand how it tugs on the heart. It was a great read..

This is a standalone in this great series with great characters and a storyline that flows smoothly and is thoroughly entertaining. Maggie and Marty meet later as adults and find that the chemistry they had in high school burns brighter than ever. Their story takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride before we get to their HEA.

This book had some tough stuff in it. I thought Maggie was a little tough to like in places. I was a little confused about the timelines in a couple of places. I was confused about Marty too. But overall an enjoyable story.
