Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis
Loved this sweet read. I feel teens and young adults would love it too. We have Cora who was orphaned and could not find her place in this world. Sarah is her case manager that toke care of her between different homes. Sarah finely placed her in the last home and she was meet by Colin, Casey, Rin and Rex. Will Cora accept these people? Can Colin and Casey her guardians protect her? Can Rex who has feeling for her protect her? Can Cora help Rin? What will she do when she finds out the truth?

Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff
This book is very intriguing and a very strong start to the series. I like that Lou is hybrid and realistic. This is great start introducting Lou's potential harem. This has made me excited for the next installment to the series.

Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis
This is a very intriguing start to a larger series. This is very entertainment and is captivating and engaging from the very beginning. It was easy to be sympathetic to Cora and her life circumstances. This read is filled with magic, mischief and mystery.

A gripping tale of deceit, pain, secrets, hope, new beginnings, love, magic and friendship. Has all the makings of a RH series. In between a coven of 13 witches, bound mates, magical cures and more the upcoming books in this series promise to be exciting and fun.

My review is currently for Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis. I found the story of Cora captivating seeing where she started out and where she finds herself in the Bradford House. The connection between Corinne and Cora is priceless from the very beginning but seeing everyone adapt and grow with one another has me falling for this story more and more. A great read with twists and turns that will keep you on your toes until the very end.

Magic and Mayhem: A Paranormal And Fantasy Academy Collection 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

******** May Contain Some Spoilers ********

I will try my absolute best to keep spoilers to a minimum or completely out of my review. Sometimes it can be hard to do so.

All stories are about starting at an academy. This book has 18 authors and 15 anthology stories. I will list story name, author, and how many stars I gave that story.

1) Dangerous Words (Hunters' Academy, Summer 1)
By: Margo Bond Collings & Ivy Hearne 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Izzy is half coywolf shifter and magic-user. She is having trouble shifting. The headmaster of Hunters' Academy offers help with a Sumner tutoring. Izzy goes to the academy, she feels like she doesn't belong. Bash trys to help but a misunderstanding causes problems. Izzy leaves the academy and makes a huge decision that will change her life. This is leading to The Hunters’ Academy first year serial starting with Hunters’ Academy Book 1: Entrance Exam. I will be checking out that series.

2) Magical Mischief Magic And Metaphysics Academy #1
By: Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely loved this story. Lou is the FMC (female main character) and she is a hybrid. Her roommates at the academy are Tyler and Estelle. Both of these ladies seem to be the kind I would hang out with. Now the Sparkles (chicks that think they are better than everyone else) Madison and Sadie seem to be truly nice but the head Sparkle makes them mean. Kristi, (Debitch head Sparkle) is pure evil and I'd love to punch her. The sexy men of the academy Jayse, Brroks, and Francis (Kristi's EX). All 3 guys have the hots for Lou. Kristi makes a huge mistake crossing Lou, I have a feeling that Lou is gonna take Kristi to the cleaners. Definitely one of my favorites! I can't wait for Magical Mistake (Magic And Metaphysics Academy Book 2) to be released!

3) Valkyrie’s Chaos The Valkyrie Games: 1
By: Arizona Tape 3 Stars ⭐⭐⭐

I tried really hard to read all 21 chapters for this story. I only made it to the end of chapter 6. It is extremely hard to continue reading when you don't like the main character. Brynhild (Bryn) is the main character. She is an absolute monster. Bryn is Heir of the East and future Matriarch of the East. Due to her status, she is conceited and an arrogant attitude. Bryn believes everyone is beneath her including the professors at the academy. Her so called friends she refers to them as lackeys. Bryn is the mean girl/bully.
The blurb states everything goes wrong and she must learn the truth about herself. Bryn's attitude might change once everything goes wrong, I just couldn't hold out long enough.

4) A Royal Discovery
By: Catherine Banks 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was completely enthralled with this storyline. Catherine did an amazing job with the characters and environment development. Completely easy to read. Ali is a lost royal that has been missing for 15 years. 5 guys (4 shifters and a mage) and 1 girl mage must do everything in their power to keep her safe, even when she refuses to listen.

There wasn't anything mentioned about turning this into a series. I hope Catherine does decide to make a series out of this. Definitely one of my favorites.

5) A Half Demon’s Guide to Magic School
By: Lili Zander 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very interesting storyline. The daughter of Lucifer, Sahara, has a mission to hunt down a rouge demon. When she finds him she is return him to the underworld for punishment. Should be easy right, not gonna happen. The academy that Caim (rouge demon) is hiding in has a surprise for Sahara. The Red Dragon 🐉, Taran, is also hunting Caim. There could be something between Sahara and Taran.

It is noted that Sahara and Taean will return. I'm hopeful that means a series. I really enjoyed these two characters.

6) Princess Takes Academy A Princess Takes Unicorns story
By: Joely Sue Burkhart 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a prequel to A Princess Takes Unicorns. From what I was able to tell, this is also a part of Their Vampire Queen series. I honestly don't have a clue what is really going on with this storyline. I don't feel a bad review should be given due to me not having read the other books. This story is well written. It took a little while to understand some of words used. The storyline is interesting. A spoiled brat of a princess looses her magic, her best friend and almost her life. She has a colossal tantrum about losing her best friend.

7) Flower Moon Rising Lupine Hollow Academy Book 1
By: Quinn Arthurs 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A very interesting storyline. After Penelope/Pixie list her mother in an accident, an uncle (Lyle) she has never met becomes her guardian. Lyle is a weasel. Pixie's mom had made arrangements for her to attend Lupine Hollow should anything happen to her. Lupine Hollow is an academy for werewolves. One human in an academy full of werewolves, what could go wrong? There was no mention of another book but hopefully there will be. Definitely a storyline I would like to see more of.

8) Wicked Intentions Xavier Academy
By: Nikki Landis 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very interesting storyline. A young girl growing up in the system. Her name is Coraline/Cora and she is a witch. Beaten in her foster home, she is moved to a new home. The new foster family has secrets of their own. Cora also has secrets hidden by her family she must figure out. Well trying to figure all the secrets, she starts to fall for Casey, Colin, and Rex.
The series will continue with Wicked Secrets, Xavier Academy #2. Definitely a favorite!

9)Her Kind of Magic (Hunter Academy Book 1)
By: May Dawson 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I enjoyed this storyline. Very captivating. Deidra has been raised by her uncle Liam since vampires killed her parents. Some kind of creatures attacked Deidra & Liam. Unfortunately one of the creatures killed Liam. The Hunter Academy seems two hunters to bring her in for protection. It seems a nasty witch named Truby is after Deidra. Cade, Nix, and Tristan have been given the task of helping her adjust. Turns out Deidra is a powerful witch. There are a lot of secrets about her life she doesn't know and has to uncover them to stay alive.

There is a link for Hunter Academy Book 2, but the link doesn't work yet. That gives me hope that this is going to be a series. Definitely a favorite!

10) Spellcaster Hidden Spellbound Shifters: Fates & Visions, Book 3 By: Keira Blackwood and Liza Street 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Interesting storyline. Witch/Oracle/Wolf shifter running/hiding from danger. She crashes her car into the wards at Spellbound Academy. To stay safe, Wren must keep her identify hidden and survive the academy. This academy is hardcore and only the top 50% of students get to stay. Wren also has to deal with finding her 3 mates while at the academy, one of them is her professor. Good times 👍

11) Of Shadows and Secrets The Academy of the Accords Book One
By: Grace White 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

💜 I loved this storyline. It's a paranormal twist on Cinderella. 💜 A human girl, Ellie, has to go attend an academy for Light/Dark Good/Evil supernaturals. Her stepmother is the principal of the academy and her twin step-sisters also attend the academy. See the Cinderella theme? Ellie is a sweet girl who gets walked all over because she is human. For the first time ever 2 guys Cobi (light) and Zane (dark) are drawn to Ellie. Something is wrong with Ellie, extremely painful pain keeps causing her to pass out. Ellie is fixing to have her whole word turned upside down.
Definitely a favorite! 💜 There is only the mention at the end of the story that it's the end for now. I hope this does turn into a series, I really want to know what happens!

12) Holy Smokes Lost Souls Book Zero
By: Bethany Jadin 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Holy Smokes is an exclusive prelude to Speak of the Devils: Lost Souls Academy Book 1

After reading the blurb for this story, I wasn't sure it would be a storyline I would enjoy. Well I was wrong. I know don't judge a book by its cover. A new angel (Astrid) finally gets a pass to Earth 🌎 for a few days. Nothing bad could happen right. Another angle (Mihra) sneaks to Earth 🌎 with Astrid. The ladies meet up with 3 angels (Raziel, Xander, and Malakai) who love to cause mischief. Things go from crazy to holy cow dangerous. As punishment for their misdeeds, all 5 are given time at Lost Souls Academy. Astrid and the guys have to live together. That is were book 1 is to pick up.

13) Hallowed Woods Academy
By: Tabitha Barret 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sadie, orphaned at thirteen, has been trying to find her mother and stay out of the foster system. Two months ago she received a package with her mother's dairy and a necklace, she was also told her mother was dead. Running as always, Sadie is being chased by three men and she has no idea why. A handsome young man, Lucas, rescuers her and takes her to Hallowed Woods Academy. An academy for witches and wizards to learn how to control their magic. While at the academy, Sadie, discovers that her life has been a lie and many secrets about her past.
Very interesting storyline that hopefully will become a series.

14) Dark Visions Greyling Academy Book Zero
By: Cecilia Randell 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Intriguing storyline. Genie is a lonely girl that everyone has given up on. Even her family. Since age 12, she has been told she had seizures. Genie knows the truth, she has visions. She gets accepted at Greyling Academy where she hopes to get answers. Genie's visions are always from the killers eyes and it happens in real time. There is a killer at the academy and her new friends help her find the killer. I think I know who the killer is but I have to wait for the next book.
Genie’s tale continues in Shadowed Dreams. Look for it to come in October!

15) Finding Allies Monster Academy: Lesson One
By: Jaliza A. Burwell 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Next in the series -- Lesson Two: Staying True (Monster Academy Book 2)

This storyline has the potential to be a really good series. Neutrals (supernaturals) have been revealed to humans. Things didn't go well, Neutrals were murdered. An extremist group, Purity Party, wants all Neutrals killed. One Neutral, Adeelah, decides she wants a safe place for the Neutral kiddes. She decides an academy is the best thing for them. It's almost time for the academy to open. Betrayal, kidnapping, attempted assassinations are just a few things that happen before opening day. Luckily Adeelah has the help of 3 guys, Rophan, Alto, and Archon.

Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis
This was a great start to the Xavier Academy series! Cora Blackbyrne is an orphan who has been bounced around multiple foster homes over the years because she can’t seem to control her magic. The only constant she’s had in her life was her social worker Sarah who she feels a strong connection with. She’s placed into the Bradford home next where she forms an instant friendship with Corrine and suddenly attracted and wary of Casey, Colin, and Rex. I loved the different relationship that she had with the three guys- she cared and loved each one in their own way and they all felt the need to protect and keep her safe. This book is filled with secrets of Cora’s unknown childhood, twists and turns, romance, and plenty of darkness and magic around every corner.

Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff
This was a really good start to the Magic & Metaphysics Academy series! Lou has been homeschooled and shelterd her whole life while her zoomagologist parents take her around the world for their work. Finally able to go to a real school and be around people her own age, she’s desperate to fit in and not commit social suicide- she changes and hides who she is completely to be part of the Sparkles. At first they seem nice and welcoming, but the leader’s true colors show soon enough which brings Lou to do whatever it takes to bring her down. Although I didn’t know what to expect, I really wasn’t expecting a similar plot to Mean Girls. I loved the paranormal twist, the reverse harem build up, and Lou’s internal and external struggles she has to face. Her roommates Tyler and Estelle have great personalities, Sadie and Madison, the two inferior Sparkles, seemed helpful and caring, and her potential harem, Brooks, Francis, and Jayse, were incredibly amazing and compassionate towards her. I can’t wait for the next installment from these two great authors and I hope to see more involvement and background for Estelle, Madison, Sadie, and Tyler.

This is a great anthology with lots of great authors. I haven’t gotten through all the stories yet but so far these stories have been great.

Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood and LA Boruff (4 stars)
Lou has been home-schooled by her parents due to some special abilities that she needed to learn to control and hide a bit. Lou is kind of naive, and is at first overwhelmed by the “rules,” her fellow students, some unexpected popularity, when she really is more of the nerd-type, I liked seeing Lou experience the Academy and figuring out the dynamics between all the supernatural races. Lou is a bit gullible, but I liked seeing her start to get more spirit towards the end. I liked the guys too and can’t wait to see how their relationships develop.

Valkyries Chaos by Arizona Tape (4.5 stars)
Bryn is one day going to be the Queen of the East Wind. Bryn is terrifically imperfect MC. Because of her legacy, she is arrogant and hasn’t really treated others the greatest, even her friends. She makes a lot of mistakes, but she also does a lot of growing throughout this story. The ending answers some questions, but is suspenseful and leaves you needing more! I can’t wait for the next book :)

Flower Moon Rising: Lupine Hallows Academy Book 1 by Quinn Arthurs
Pixie is grieving the death of her mother. Her uncle shows up and basically evicts her, but a friend of her mothers shows up to let her know she has been accepted into an academy full of werewolves - the only problem, she is not one. She faces challenges from most of those around her, including the mean girls and the guys who are supposed to help her out. I have to say I’m hooked and need more :)

Finding Allies: Monster Academy Lesson 1 by Jaliza Burwell (5 stars)
This is a prequel to Burwell’s upcoming Monsters Academy series, and I have to say I love Adeelah. While this is seems to be an academy RH series, Adeelah is the Headmistress of the school, not a student. Adeelah comes from the powerful supernatural Neutral family, but she has a secret relating to her powers. In this prequel she is in the process of putting the finishing touches on the Academy before the doors open, but she is facing opposition from the humans, the Purity party, and some Naturals. I loved how fierce Adeelah was and how she just gets things done. The guys were a little mysterious, and while the end mentions 3 specificallly, I’m hoping a certain Councilman has a chance too.

(A review of Spellcaster Hidden by Liza Street and Keira Blackwood)

I REALLY liked this story!

Firstly, let me say that this is a PG-13 story; it's mostly clean but not graphic, so it fit in well with the "academy" setting. But holy cow, the allusion to the you-know-what that went on between Wren and her mates was...whoo!

This story was really an adventure. It had a Harry Potter-ish feel to it, in my opinion, but was absolutely its own separate and individual story with no real similarities to Harry Potter.

But this story was SO COOL.

I followed Wren, an oracle who was fleeing for her safety and stumbled upon the academy, and although she had never been officially trained as a magical person, she certainly had the talent to hang with the big kids.

Though the underdog with a target on her back courtesy of several different people, she never gave up and worked extra hard to ensure she was successful at her studies.

I especially liked the "magic tests" that the students had to face; the imagery was very well done and the suspense was an awesome and unexpected perk!

The story had a Happy For Now ending, and I'm SO excited to read more of Wren and her mates once they reunite!

(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)

I'll be honest, I don't read many witch or magic books. Very few as a matter of fact but when I heard Nikki Landis had the beginning of a new series "Wicked Intentions - Xavier Academy 1" in this Magic and Mayhem anthology, I couldn't wait to see what it was and what it had to offer. It set a quick, intriguing pace in the first chapter and didn't slow down throughout the entire storyline. There's intrigue and adventure, pain and sorrow, friendship and love, good and evil, vampires and magic. The plot is steadily building throughout while the more secrets that are revealed, the more questions come to light. This is a compelling story with characters you will automatically be able to relate to. If this is any indication of the caliber of talent from the authors I haven't met yet, then I'm totally ramped.

Amazing and Fantastic Stories!

This is an absolutely fantastic collection of stories by some very creative and terrific authors. Amazing world building and fantastic characters.

Review is for Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis.

I really enjoyed reading this story. There was so much suspense and intrigue with little twists and turns throughout. I loved all the main characters. Each one is unique and well written. Cora is a fantastic character. She’s fierce and independent even with her tragic background. With her new family by her side she is going to be an amazing witch. I can’t wait to read the next part of this story. Fantastic writing as always and great world building.

This set off books was fantastic I was hooked from the start and really couldn't put them down, even taking to reading in my lunch break to get my fix.
I particularly liked Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis which is full of Magi, Mystery and adventure. Cora's relationship with her three love interest are all different which is refreshing, This book has darkness and laughter as well as many twists and turns so will hold your interest. Very well written and I couldn’t put it down from start to finish.
Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff was also brilliant. A really good storey and a lot of great characters with great personalities. A few twists and turns but didn’t enjoy the bullying aspect. However the rest of the storey was good enough to compensate
Spellcaster Hidden by Keira Blackwood & Liza Street is another I really liked

Cora has been through the foster system for years. All she can do is go from day to day, and keep practicing her magic. When she is sent to Bradfords, she senses that they have magic too - but it is all kept secret - until she meets Rex, a dhampire who bonds with her and finds out more of her truth. Casey and Colin, the twins, appear to be attracted to her too - and Corinne, their sister becomes a close friend. But Sarah, who has been around Cora all of her life is hiding a secret - is she about to destroy Cora? Cora knows that all of her family are dead - or are they? Loved it, and cant wait to read more.

The Magic and Mayhem - A Paranormal and Fantasy Academy Collection is a wonderful assortment of books from so many amazing authors - really just too many too count.

My favourite stories were Arizona Tape’s Valkyrie’s Chaos and Magical Mischief by Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff.

Valkyrie’s Chaos by Arizona Tape
Loved this story from Bryan’s POV, which is a perfect accompaniment to the Afterlife Academy series. There’s no requirement to have read the other books, however I highly recommend the series.

Nikki Landis has given us a well-written, exciting beginning to the Xavier Academy series. The flow is interestingly dark, suspenseful and twisted with great emotional tension between the main characters. This storyline is everything I could want in a good paranormal fantasy and it has exceeded my expectations! I can’t wait to read more. Cora, Casey, Colin, and Rex are very interesting magical beings with each having their own agenda and secrets. I would like to know more about Sarah in the future, she would have an interesting story. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

If you're a fan of paranormal and fantasy, with some good romantic tension, this is what you need to read next! I really liked seeing the list of authors, some of which I am familiar with, but I also saw some names that are new to me.

I've read Wicked Intentions, and it's full of magic and mayhem, for sure! Cora, Casey, Colin and Rex are all part of a bigger society of magic-bearing folks, and while this book doesn't conclude yet, I'm definitely interested in finding out what happens next!

Not being a fan of the academy genre I was a bit dubious about this but was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed it and found myself wanting more. The premise sounded good so I gave it the benefit of a try and really did like this.
Cora is sent to a new home and finds herself fitting in for the first time in her life but secrets abound and as they are revealed life gets more interesting.

All in all a good tale and i look forward to the next in the series

This review is for Wicked Intentions by Nikki Landis.

This intro to Xavier Academy was an absolutely addictive tale of an orphaned witch finally finding her place in the world. Along the way Cora also discovers several young witches who want to protect her, a best friend, an entire magical community, and answers to questions about her past. Cora is a strong, likable main character with an interesting supporting cast. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

In Wicked Intentions, Nikki Landis has created a tough and courageous character in Cora. She starts each day anew no matter what the past has thrown at her or what she has yet to face. Although she has those who are loyal to her, she relies on her inner strength and abilities to help herself.
