This story was one sexy, hot, and amazing read. I just love this author, she is the Queen of Mafia romance reads. I have read a lot of Mafia romance reads of late, and this one just shot up to my top 5 reads.
Cara and Gian story was erotic and intriguing and full of a ton of drama, suspense, death destruction, betrayals, and a love story that survived the odds.
Cara was my favorite as she was one fierce and determined woman who took a lot of public humiliation to be with the man that she loved with her whole heart. I loved her from the onset of the story. She was beautiful, kind strong, and outspoken telling it like it was a kind of gal, and you could not help but, love her from the very first pages.
Gian was a character that you just could not help but, fall in love with. We loved the sexy playboy with his witty personality and charismatic ways, and let's not forget the sexy and sinful dark looks and bad boy ways.
Overall we loved it as it was a page-turner that had amazing characters and there was never a dull moment going on in the story it was so suspenseful that it kept you on edge the entire time.
Recommended read to all!

Cara is feminine and feisty with a beautiful spirit. Strong and caring and stubborn and true to herself.
Gian is the embodiment of the alpha with a heart. Merciless, cold-hearted and practical, yet vulnerable and giving when it counts.
They’re perfection together and miserable apart.
She’s protective of him and he’ll do anything for her. Anything.

La trama es sencilla de seguir y mantuvo un flujo fluido. Los eventos están bien descritos, incluso si hubo escenas de relleno y los personajes están bien elaborados, lo que sumó al atractivo general del libro.

Unravelled
Unravelled is a fabulous introduction to the Guzzi Duet. I was pulled into the story right from the start.
Gian is the grandson of the mafia boss. He is a made man, his dream come true. He has the looks, the personality and the sexy accents. Hard to resist!
Cara is a student. She is from a mafia family, but has left her home to avoid getting mixed up with that way of life. After losing someone close to her, she is more determined to have a normal life.
Cara has shut herself from the world after her loss. She is having a hard time coming to terms with this terrible ordeal. She needs a push! This push comes along in the form of a friend who convinces her to go on a night out. She reluctantly agrees, maybe it will help to get her out of this rut. Gian, the owner of the club spots her and makes a beeline for her. It's his duty to know his club's patrons!
He is confident in his approach and before long, they are chatting to each other. Followed by a dance. Then sex. Nothing serious! A casual affair. Before they know it, they start craving each other. The casual approach is not working and they are now addicted. Not just physically, emotionally too. It's the last thing that Cara wants to happen, but she can't resist. Neither can he!
At the same time, there is a lot going on in the organisation and Gian can no longer ignore the discord between the older and younger generation. He has been manipulated into the situation and intends to change that sooner than later. He soon learns that not everyone is who they appear to be and the betrayal stings! He does what he has to do, but Cara's life can be threatened. He takes the right steps to stop her from being a target and a bargaining tool. Although Cara is not happy, she understands only too well and complies to Gian's demand. Hopefully, everything will return to normal soon!
Cara makes a shocking discovery and it tears her apart. Gian has some explaining to do, but will Cara listen to him? Her pain is so raw and tangible that I felt it right along with her, and this is where this instalment ends.
It's a well paced. It's full of suspense, betrayal, lies and violence. It's intense and passionate. I am so glad that I don't have to wait to see how and if the situation between Gian and Cara can be resolved. I am going to dive straight into the next instalment.
Entangled
Unraveled, the first installment of this duet ended with a painful revelation. This second installment takes us to the conclusion of this journey that is entangled in a web of lies, deceits and so much more.
Gian is now the Don of his outfit. Something that he has been groomed do be from a young age, and it's what he wants. He is a good boss and he works hard, but he isn't happy.
Cara is doing well in her studies and doing well in a placement, counselling abused girls and women. She loves helping and is hoping for permanent employment once she graduates. If anything, she works long hours to keep her occupied. It stops her from hurting, if only temporarily.
Three months later, Gian and Cara have a chance encounter for the first time since that awful revelation. It's a short meeting but their feelings are still very strong. This prompts Cara to pull herself together and move on. It doesn't turn out as she expects! Gian just happens to be in the same place. Their initial unpleasant conversation brings back memories and their hearts win out. Their love is too strong!
Gian's position expects him to keep up appearances, which means a relationship with Cara is not acceptable. Nevertheless, they try to find a happy medium that will satisfy everyone. It's not so easy, given his past problems! He has more than one enemy, but one in particular is devious, calculated, remorseless and manipulative. There are threats, bloodsheds and more bloodsheds. Gian's is in a predicament, where whatever he does is bound to go against him. The unravelling of the extent of the lies and deceits make him realise that he can't trust anyone! Will he be able to resolve these problems and have as normal a life as possible?
This installment is fast paced, full of suspense and passion. I found my heart melting and then breaking again. It's a brilliantly executed plot with a worthy outcome. I was completely invested in this duet and hope that there are more stories to come with the next generation.

Mafia Romance
Boss (H) /Mistress (h)
He's married (arranged) and divorce is not allowed
She didn't know she was the mistress
Not exactly what I wanted but it still worked. I wanted angsty OW drama or even cheating, but this didn't have that. The OW drama only came from the wife's evil machinations. The marriage was only on paper (they both secretly slept with other people and hated each other). I don't consider the H a cheater in this scenario, and I don't feel the h was a bad person for falling in love with him. She left him after finding out he had a wife but ultimately, they couldn't stay away from each other, especially when she came to understand his situation better. I felt the love and passion between them. He adored her, and I loved this; it was sweet how much he worshiped her. Maybe that's why the duet kept my interest and I was able to finish it and not DNF like I usually do lately. I do wish he was more alpha. I wouldn't call him a beta but considering he was a mafia boss, I expected him to be more pushy and not let her go so easily when he loved her so much. But I guess I understood why he wanted her to come to her own decision to be with him. She would have to be willing to be with him knowing he could never get a divorce. That's a tough pill to swallow. I suppose for some readers a hero who isn't pushy, is perfect, but I prefer my fiction heroes more cavemanish. But there were times when Gian could be a yummy alpha and that made me a happy camper.
I also wish Cara had pushed back more so I could get my angst-fix. I mean, it was still angsty but Cara made it too easy for him once she went back to him. She just simply accepted the situation and was content living that way...always seen as the OW by everyone else. The labels placed on her were awful, and undeserved. I don't get how she could live like that. Fortunately, everything worked out in the end and Cara and Gian got their gorgeous HEA. The story earned extra brownie points for that epilogue. It was perfect! I absolutely love these last scenes told from Gian's PoV, seeing it through his eyes and knowing how he felt about it, it was the cherry on top. Cara was truly queen of her domain 👑♥️

Outstanding! What a terrific duet with fantastic characters. I don't know how this wonderful author continues to create unique heroes and heroines for her mafia worlds. This one has dirty talking, take charge, heir apparent of the Toronto Guzzi family, Gian Guzzi. What a sexy name. Yum! He was taught that duty, legacy and love, in that order, are the way he will live his life. But he didn't count on meeting the stunning Cara and soon decides that love will come first for him even if he is bound by duty. Cara is recovering from a life altering tragedy when she meets Gian. As a Rossi of the Chicago Outfit she's no stranger to his world but she doesn't want to be involved in his lifestyle. Gian with his dangerous voice, overwhelming sexiness and rough handling are too much for Cara to resist. And what woman could resist a bossy hunk that speaks beautiful words in three languages. Hotness personified! This is one sizzling couple. I loved the way Gian really talked to Cara with beautiful words and so much understanding. The conversations between these two are outstanding. The emotion was killer at times. Their story is full of danger, intrigue, bloody deeds, deception and trickery. I knew there would be a twist at the end of the first story but I was so blown away. I did not see that one coming. Fantastic! The second half picks up with our couple in shreds and seemingly no way back from their circumstances. There were parts that were a little slow for me but I still kept flipping the pages because I knew I was in for more jaw-dropping twists and I was not disappointed. Evil villains caused so much damage and tried to thwart Gian and Cara at every turn. The culprits were not that big of a surprise and one got what they deserved while the other was heartbreaking. But that's life in the Cosa Nostra. Bloody goodness! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Wow! Bethany Kris spins a web of lies, deceit and mystery that keeps you glued to the pages. Unexpected turn of events that leave you breathless.
Cara Rossi's world unraveled after the murder of her twin sister who was killed by the mafia. She avoided them at all cost until Gian Guzzi waltzed into her life.
When Gian's grandfather, the Boss, was murdered, he was overcome with grief that he didn't immediately take up the position as the new Boss. He was blindsided by Edmond and the older generation.
With Edmond being the new Boss it created many problems within the ranks and mini wars within the mafia.
The chemistry between Gian and Cara is explosive. Even though Cara struggles with her demons daily, Gian's unconditional love helps her heal. She learns to love and trust. Gian has a dark secret that could destroy his relationship with Cara.
There is a cliffy that will blow you away but so worth the wait in this duet.

As the pieces of the puzzle start to fall in place, Gian discovers the traitors within his la famiglia.
Loved the phrase "milk drunk."
I love mafia stories! I would strongly recommend Bethany Kris' books!

Cian's grandfather pounded this into his head, "Duty. Legacy. Love. Always in that order." And that's how he's lived his life, until he came face to face with Cara Rossi. Cara lost her twin, and blames it on the fact that her family is part of a crime family, so she's trying to distance herself as far as way as possible, plus, she's having an impossible time living without her twin. When one of her sister's friends forces her out to a club, she comes face to face with Gian, and all of a sudden, her life takes a new turn. They spend a super HOT amount of time hooking up, and I mean, setting the sheets on fire, but then when it's over, she leaves. Cian can't leave her alone, and she finally gives into him, as there's no hiding from their connection. However, after someone kills his grandfather, the chaos going on in the organization is taking up most of his time, not to mention, he's got secrets, and we all know that secrets don't make friends. Those secrets only add to the big twists that are everywhere, and provide great f-bomb dropping fun. While I normally I get so frustrated by push & pull, the brilliant Bethany-Kris does it in a way that I'm not plotting things while emotional. I was ever so grateful that I had the whole story in one place, because otherwise, I would by dying in side from the first book's cliffhanger. Anyway, enough out of me since it just wastes your team when you could be one clicking the very exciting piece of goodness! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The writing style was nice and Gian's devotion was enjoyable to read about, but I was unsatisfied with the story. Cara gets spine removal surgery shortly into the second book and all her aspirations toward her degree and career are replaced with her new identity of 'boy mom.' She's also so isolated after fully falling into the mistress role, once she I think for the last half of the second book, the only people she speaks to are Gian, her brother, and the police who show up at her apartment. Girl get some friends, have something in your life outside of what Gian is able to give you.
And Gian eventually just started looking weak to me. If the mafia aspect of this book were more significant and not just a backdrop for the relationship/a reason to put the heroine through trauma, I can't imagine Gian actually surviving to the 'Seventeen Years Later' epilogue we get. Bro would've gotten assassinated, usurped, something. There would be mutiny.
And Gian eventually just started looking weak to me. If the mafia aspect of this book were more significant and not just a backdrop for the relationship/a reason to put the heroine through trauma, I can't imagine Gian actually surviving to the 'Seventeen Years Later' epilogue we get. I never thought I could ever enjoy let alone adore a story involving a married man and clueless heroine (who is not his wife) but Bethany-Kris has a magic hand and a gift. I had read all the Guzzi brother books ahead of this one. So it was like filling in the blanks on the family's origins. I think that softened the blow of the affair. I mean, the option of divorce was totally there and the excuses given were so lame to me even as I was so immersed in this Guzzi world. Being Catholic and a mafia boss does not mean tou can't get a divorce so f off with that bs.
Ultimately, I put it out of my mind and enjoyed the romance between Cara and smooth talking Gian. I can see where the Guzzi boys got their charm and trilingual flirtation skills from. Gian and Cara's generation was definitely f'ed up compared to their kids'. I suppose that was purposefully done.
Either way, thoroughly enjoyed this duet.
Ultimately, I put it out of my mind and enjoyed the romance between Cara and smooth talking Gian. I can see where the Guzzi boys got their charm and trilingual flirtation skills from. Gian and Cara's generation was definitely f'ed up compared to their kids'. I suppose that was purposefully done.
Either way, thoroughly enjoyed this duet.

Wow If i could give this amazingly sexy hot Mafia read more stars then I certainly would it was that superb and a favourite read! Obviously with any Mafia story you can expect rivalry, war, bloodshed and heartache and for Cara who has lost people through the mafia and wants nothing more to do with the heartache of it all she never expects to fall for Gian who's a handsome and loveable rogue and you get the impression Gian is more committed to their relationship at times than Cara you see so many sides to this couple and you read the beauty in their tough love story and whenever devastation or loss is looming they always seem to pull towards one another.
This is the perfect Mafia story with Gian who will no doubt leave you swooning too.

I had an absolute blast reliving Cara and Gian’s love story again! Bethany-Kris has always been my go-to gal when it comes to mafia romance. Cara and Gian’s story proves to be no exception to her excellent roster of the interconnected world of organized crime.
I read their story a few years back already but I still got all the feels to this book. It was really refreshing to read about an organized crime family whose home base is outside the US. I was even fascinated by the French dialogue. Partly because I don’t know a single word of it but mainly because it added a bit of flair to the story. And that’s the sort of nuanced detail that you can expect from a BK romance.
Reading this duet made me even more thrilled to read about Cara and Gian’s children! The Guzzi boys will definitely be another serial that I’ll be raving about it in the coming months!

I fell in love with the handsome, Canadian Mafia Boss, Gian, and the gorgeous red-headed Cara from the Chicago Mafia family. Cara has suffered a tragedy that has emotionally crippled her - until she meets Gian. This book is extraordinary and so many emotions, grief, desire, passion, despair, anger, rage, love, and sex just to mention a few. I was blown away again. Gian is in a mafia family. He's dealing with the loss of his grandfather, a new boss that is a threat and his personal feelings for Cara. Cara is from a mafia family too but she left to escape it. She's a student trying to deal with loss of her own. The chemistry between this couple is off the charts hot and sexy. The interesting thing is they are dealing with problems that most people deal with in every day life. I enjoyed reading both these books. A recommended read for anyone that likes mafia and romance.

I absolutely loved it! I was so happy to see a Mafioso finally not caring on some level what the Famiglia expected of him concerning the women he loved even though she was the other women. I usually dont tend to read those i stay away from these love triangles but thats not what this was what so ever. Can decide on my favorite couple though love Abriella and Tommas but Gian and Cara man hot steamy wow!

The 2 stars is for the story.. I hated that the H lied and the h took it, accepted it even when naked photos of her circulated!! The storyline just irked me throughout and I hated the H for who he was. Although he revered the h, it wasn't enough to do the right thing by her. I hated him for not stepping up and I hated her for not stepping on. Irrespective of that I still love this author, the writing style reads effortlessly.

Cara and Gian are some of my favorite BK characters. Their story is one that I will NEVER forget. The passion and emotions they have for one another is out of this world. You HAVE to read this duet. And I love the cover for this boxset!

I really liked first part but the second one lost my interest. Like it is sweet but plot has so many deceiving characters. And all died in the end. Seriously no redemption nothing. Dom dying can be saved by some redemption and realization.
