The Office of Threat Management secretly watches over the world, stopping threats before they spiral out of control, but what happens when a hacktivist bent on destroying the OTM discovers their secrets?
A drone attack against Marine One nearly kills the President of the United States. Five Syrian men in London are framed for a terrorist attack against the Olympic opening ceremony. The British Intelligence network has been compromised by hackers. Can Eric Wise and the OTM keep the world safe while remaining anonymous, or will they finally be forced from the shadows?
Kevin Lee Swaim has accomplished something hard to do. He has written an almost true to life plot. This series develops its characters and makes them come to life. Military enthusiasts will enjoy this series, special operations and just a touch of Sit-In. I will be reading more of Mr. Swaim work. I recommend this series as I have really enjoyed this series.
Loved the premise and the action. I am sure that organizations exist to keep others safe. As to what they are called, I will never know but am glad there is someone out there taking care of business...Kudos to the author reminding !e to believe.
An interesting excellent adventure thriller that keeps the reader engaged from page one. The unexpected twists and turns careening to the the reader off track. And, the ending is unexpected.
First-time reader. Great group of characters. Some folks are willing to put themselves in harm's way for th greater good, but who.gets to decide what that is......
Lots of intrigue, action and carnage. The interaction between the characters is interesting and dynamic. The technology and the thought of the possibilities and consequences it could render is frightening.
This book kept me engaged throughout. The mix of technology and a realistic storyline helped me to thoroughly reading the book. I would recommend it to anyone.
Great book it was written by a great author and it would have many more of the best possible way it will end and leave me hanging around with the best possible way it will end
This series is definitely one that should be read in order. Otherwise you'll be lost. Kevin Lee Swaim wrote a very good series. Can't wait for the next ones.
Four stars as I was a bit 'boggy' in parts. I thoroughly enjoyed the original 3 books, so much that I have read them 3 times, alas part 4 was not as good.
If you like spy novels this is one of the best. Every government has it’s secret security and this is part of the story of one of them. Are they a good or bad thing? Sometimes yes and other times less so. Perhaps this novel will help you decide.
As I read this book I felt like I was right there as a character in a movie that was really happening. The action is intense, the characters are so real that I felt like I knew each one personally. The plot, the story, the book and Kevin Lee Swaim all deserve a rating of 5 Trillion Stars. Magnificent!!!!!
Let's say 2 1/2 stars. It was a quick and exciting read, but ultimately I had several problems with this book:
1. In the 1st chapter, the author introduces a character, "Omar", who discovers something in a lab at the OTM, a secret government agency that protects the United States. We never hear of this character again until he's briefly mentioned at the end of the book as the (indirect) cause of a lot of the problems.
2. He appears to do the same thing in the last chapter, introducing a character 2 pages from the end of the book who becomes sort of a "Deus Ex Machina" to explain why things happened the way they did.
3. The author sometimes paints his characters with broad stereotypes. I was especially concerned with his portrayal of "Dewey" a character with Asperger's syndrome. The Strike force team was a cornucopia of different races, creeds and colors, and the French, Chinese, and Russians didn't make out too well in the stereotype department!
As I said before, the story has a lot of action and moves quickly so if you just like action, by all means take a flier on it, but because of the stereotypes, it seemed sorta shallow to me.
I can't believe I say reading this. Well the Covid 19 confinement made me desperate. The characters are shallow and in some ways their dialog is trivial. There has to be a quirky tech character and his love interest.
Did not keep my attention like Exodus. Too much energy devoted to Group of eight that just watered down the content. What's with Clark and the guy in the bathroom? So high tech but that's where they met to discuss nothing. Why leave Nancy's mom out of the story after making her seem so important?
Many twist and turns. Keeps you reading to find out what’s next. At times I was wondering if he was writing about current events. I am looking forward to the next in series.
I listen to my books while I do things around the house. With this book I kept catching myself stopped and feeling like I was there. It's safe to say I've found another favorite author. Can't wait to read the next book.
Great concept and plot. Good characters too. A few too many typos was distracting. Overall very interesting and I’m curious about where the storie goes from here.
