Tundra Wolves #2

The Reckoning

Rate this book
Jag is first beta for the Heart Pack and has an insatiable sexual appetite. As a beta he loves to dominate, but wants more than just a willing submissive. He dreams of having what his alpha and best friend Ridge has with his mate Caleb. A mate to share his life with. An equal partner in life, but someone who will give themselves to him freely in the bedroom and can keep up with his every need and desire.

Bo is an enforcer and delta with the York pack, so he is tough and not afraid to go into battle. As a delta it is ingrained in his DNA to submit to a more dominant wolf, but to also crave sex. It’s what deltas are known for. But, as Bo’s twenty-fifth birthday approaches, he realizes he wants something more and those dreams scare him.

When the two get together for a meeting for their alphas, the attraction they have for one another is so strong that it comes to a head and they spend a night in sexual bliss. When the dawn of day comes, the two must return home to their lives, but neither can get the other, or their night together, out of their thoughts.

Jag is sent to the York pack for his alpha and when he sees the sexy delta of his dreams again, Jag knows he has to have the man and somehow make Bo his.

To find out that they are actually true mates is a big surprise to both of them, but as wolves, they know the gift they have been given and grab onto it with both hands. However, when they learn the truth of true mating's and something called The Reckoning that is coming to their world, both Jag and Bo hold on even tighter to one another as forces they have no control over conspire to rip their world and future apart.
WARNING: This book may contain triggers for some readers. It has some scenes of violence and some intense BDSM scenes.

Hot mess

Though the story was okay, there were 2 glaring continuity issues from the first in this series, including the mating ritual, which I would think was pretty important. Plus the original reasons the packs got together was also different. There were constant repeated words, 'Now' as an example. When every sentence in a paragraph starts that way? This either needs a complete overhaul or an editor, I'm not sure which.
I did like the characters, as much of them as we got to know. The ending felt incomplete and there was almost no conflict, at all, except for internal, and even that was miraculously fixed. As much as I liked the first in this series (even with it's issues) this on fell flat and needs a bunch if work.

Jag finding his true mate is just beautiful. Jag finding out his true mate is none other than Bo (the man he had one night with and can't forget). Their story of how they come together and make things work is outstanding.

Book 2 of this series and the second book I've read by this author and am hooked. Some people binge watch netflix, I binge read good authors and Maggie Walsh will be my new binge reading material. Going to read book 3 of this series and then begin on her other series.

Disliked the writing style - too much telling and information dumping. DNF.
