Olga #3

Par-dessus la tête!

Rate this book

Are there really no more books on this series?
I just loved Olga, her quests to know more and her scientific approach to solving problems. And of course, Meh and Olga’s new friends who made her restore her faith in humanity!

Loved this graphic novel-chapter book hybrid (think Wimpy Kid again) about a truly quirky young girl scientist who has found a new species of animal--an olgamus ridiculus, an alien creature that looks somewhat like a cat and a bit like a pig. In this volume, Olgamus has babies in Olga's refrigerators--and a house full of Olgamus babies is more than one Olga can take care of! Very funny and highly original. Great for quirky kids and those who like quirky stories! For grades 3-5.

Didn't realize this was a part of a series at first but made it through the book just fine having jumped into this one (the third one). Really quirky book. With even quirkier illustrations. Strange, funny, and probably a book many kids would find entertaining. Would recommend for 2nd/3rd grade and up.

Another adorable adventure featuring Olga and Meh that's filled with fun facts, science, hilarity, and just enough grossness. A nice, fun read.

This is such a great read, especially for young and/or reluctant readers. Humorous, silly, and slightly gross all while promoting STEM, reading, and learning. Such a wonderful series.

As with the other books, I enjoyed the story and artwork. I've really enjoyed watching Olga come out of her shell and make friends as the series progresses. Olga and Meh have come so far together. And I'm so happy for Meh and her spring rolls, I mean babies.

Olga's pet, Meh, likes to sleep in the garbage can! She only eats olives. She has an adorable face and is nicer than most humans. So Olga loves her but Meh is a lot of work. I really like this book and want to read more.

Being a scientist and caring for an alienate both important responsibilities. They require attention, effort and help.

From pregnancy, runts, to the danger of death in large litters, Olga's third(and final?) Book covers it all. The situation being dealt with is more chaotic than ever but full of characters and fun.

Despite being so young, Olga faces The perils of raising multiple children basically. With up to half a dozen little babies running around and one additional olgamus: the runt. She is really busy.

But, as has been shown in the last two books, she has started to make friends, and with friends comes help. Olga might have been bold in the first book and thought she needed no one but by the third book she knows she needs her friends. Even if she doesn't fully understand them or their interest. She has grown so much as a character and such few words.

Well it still expressing selfishness as in not wanting to give the babies away to anybody, Olga still makes do and raises the kids by herself.

Several of the babies develop different features, one turns dark, one develops a varieties of stripes, and one gets spots. But one, the runt, Mu is the outlier. It gets worse when he is kicked out and left a fend for himself, very young and slowly deteriorating into near lifelessness.

Mu's brush with death certainly scares everyone. Including his mother, Meh.

From thorrable to smad, Olga isn't in it alone. Self-aware, crude, organ-stuffed, and wholesome, this trilogy is a ride for sure.

A great conclusion to what started as a girl going at the world alone.

5 stars.

This is a great series, especially for kids who like zany characters like Dory Fantasmagory and Franny K. Stein. I find it very challenging to find read-aloud books for my kids who are three years apart--one is just learning to read and one is a very strong independent reader. But, books with lots of humorous bits, like this series, work well. My older child is willing to 'read down' if the story is funny enough.

This is the longest book we’ve read at bedtime so far. We read 1-2 chapters a night and the girls really enjoyed it. Elise Gravel is a fav.

Olga is a little scientist and after her pet Meh, an Olgamus has babies, she finds herself with little of little Olgamuses to take care of! A super cute graphic novel.

This was my favorite Olga book. It was the most interesting because Meh had her babies.

Aquest llibre va sobre una nena i animals que son els protagonistas.
La nena es diu Olga i els animals es diuen Olgamus.
Va sobre la Olga que te molt de treball i esta tot el dia sense descansar.
M'ha agradat perquè surten animals.
Super divertit!
