Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
There is so much I want to say about this book, but it really applies to all of Kathleen Ball's stories. This one especially touched me. I think we have all felt not good enough at times in our lives although we are all the same and loved in God's eyes. This is the journey of Daisy Weathers, a very compassionate person who's only fault is that she saved people during the small pox epidemic but survived herself. She ended up with scars on her fax and everyone shunned he and blamed her for others dying. With the narration of Hannah Fisher and words of this author I wanted to reach out to her so much and just yell at those people! Yes, I know, but it is an example of how much emotion plays into these books. Daisy has a hard road to find happiness, but she is led to the one meant for her, but it takes time and deep love. Simply amazing and I am praying myself this is not the last of the Mail Order Brides of Spring Water. I want to live there myself! I listened to this in audible
** I am reviewing the audio version of this book.**
This was a short, but sweet story. This novella seems to be part of a series, but works well as a stand alone also. Having said that, i will be keeping a lookout for more books in this series. I really enjoyed Sterling and Daisy’s story.
The story was well written and left me feeling good. I loved the set up Georgie and Parker had on their ranch. By contrast, I couldn’t believe how nasty the people in Daisy’s town were, but i guess people had strange, superstitious beliefs back then. Lots of lessons about not judging people by how they look in this story. Would highly recommend.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request, and have voluntarily left this review.
As a child I was ostracized bec ause of my family's beliefs. But it was mostly my fault. I am a Seventh-day Adventist. I lived in a Catholic community. I was told by my mother not to play on the new drive way. Of course I did. I went into the house to get baby blankets for our dollies. I was one short and did not want to go back in the to get another one. I was already being bad by playing on the driveway. I kept the last blanket for myself. The high princess of the neighborhood took great offense and Knocked me over. Using my shoulders for handles pounded my head onto the driveway. I aquired a fractured skull and concussion. I went blind for a couple of days but my mother 's prayers. It is a much longer story. I didn't have any friends after that . I find your stories very Bibical and inspiring. God bless as you continue to write inspiring stories.
Beauty is only skin deep! A saying many have said but faced with living with the after effects of smallpox, she knows no one feels that way. As caring as she is, her brother, her town and now her (mail order ) groom reject her. Left off the stage in a strange town she seeks help. Her groom didnt show so what can she do. Taken to his employers ranch, she finds acceptance and a job but not by him. As her story unfolds she finds a new beginning and a new love. This story intertwines tolerance and caring with new freedom of life. Her patient doesn't react to her face like most and is genuinely a good man. His concern for her, her desire to help, and the friendship that grows ,may be more. I truly enjoyed this story.
An excellent Christian story. Sterling and Daisy are a terrific couple. At first glance Daisy is a little to good to be true but on a second look, she definitely has some issues. She is very insecure and puts her thoughts on others about herself. Granted those thoughts have been confirmed much to often. This gets her into trouble.
I loved Sterling, he feels a lot of guilt over his brother and what he has done. He seemed more real.
There were several twists and turns I didn't expect and a very fitting ending.
Hannah Fisher did an outstanding job narrating.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
This entire series has been about forgiveness and the rights of all to live in a peaceful environment with justice. This final book in the series has taken the forgiveness further and brought in the petty issues of hatred and wanting to be loved in spite of outward appearance. Loving and being loved, giving to others regardless of their situation, tolerance are all brought beautifully to life in this courageous story of a lady who cares for all, is scarred by her efforts, and whose self worth is brought into severe distress due to the ill will of others. The title days it all, Fairer than Any. A very well done book.
Sterling was one of Parker's command in the confederate army. He was bad my I hired and his brother dumped him at the gate of Sweet Water. Daisy was a survivor of small pix and she was left with terrible scaring. A lot of people ridiculed her for being ugly from the scaring and she was persecuted horribly for it. She nursed Sterling's through the worst of his healing not knowing how he would heal. What will become of the two of them. Would they be able to find the love that they both wanted? This has been a wonderful series and a not to read.
I enjoyed this audiobook but found the self doubt a bit over the top! The townsfolk being so abusive seemed a bit far fetched too, but there is hatred, even among so called Christians. I understand these two concerns were needed for the storyline, but, they just didn’t seem realistic enough to me. I thought the narration was very good. I think the best part is that Kathleen is now writing Christian romance and I hope she continues! I have read a few of her books years ago and I much prefer this genre!!
Kathleen. I feel.a connection with you. Your stories have brought be back to thinking of my mother. She loved reading .books like you write, she would tell me about them. This was back in the 1940's _1950,s she always wished I someday would time. To read. Well Here I am 85 and reading ,and have been since 2004. You are Christian in Gods eyes. and mine. My family in Lutheran . I will continue reading, I feel like Mom is listening to me read .she passed 2012 at 93 rears old.
I would give more stars if I could. These are definitely Christian books with wonderful messages. We can all with at least some of the characters. It's worth the time to read all 6 books just to have the opportunity to read the ending Author's note. Kathleen, keep writing what God has laid on your heart in the way that he desires. Bless you.
I read the entire series and enjoyed each. They were all unique unlike some series which reveal the entire story line within the first chapter. As far as being Christian , it was how my Bible reads. So for the critics, perhaps they should take another look at theirs. I plan on reading more from this author.
Awesome ending to a great series. Enjoyed this book very much and read in 1 sitting. The only question I have is the whole book Daisy was meek, insecure, while feeling unworthy. And yet stood up to the towns "queen".
How sad that this series ends. The message of tolerance just seems to be still needed and each book in the series so clearly demonstrated that. Kathleen Ball is to be praised.
It was so goooood! Beautiful story with lessons about judging. I loved Daisy and Sterling. Sorry that it is the end to a great series. I think Rufus was sent to Daisy by God to help her. Love ALL your books Kathleen Ball. Thank you.
I have enjoyed the whole series and truly hate seeing it end. I enjoy all of your storylines, some should continue. Keep the stories coming. I'm a happy fan and I can't get enough of your stories.
This is Sterling and Daisy's story and is a sweet story or overcoming tragedy and misfortune. Once you start reading you will not want to put the book down until finished. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
I enjoyed this story except that there was not much character building or developing. The characters were very one dimensional. I also dropped a star because of the bad grammar.
Words and actions of denigration wound and wound deeply. Unlike other readers I cannot fault Kathleen for her belief and the faith of her characters although, personally I have other beliefs. I respect her honor to hers.
Fairer Than Any: Book 6 and Last one in the Series
A good series, enjoyed each book! This is the last book in the series, loved the ending. As always, Kathleen Ball brought together the right couple to fall in love and fight through the twists and turns toward a well deserved HEA. Looking forward to her next series. JudyE
I've enjoyed every Kathleen Ball books. This was a good western romance. Daisy, mail order bride, just wanted a new life but it wasn't meant to be until she met Sterling and he showed her how she was a caring and loving person.
Very good.and.loved.the.characters how they lived.and.find.happiness
Five stars great book.and.very nice and precious.to.read.the people.was.great.trying to help out Daisy they knew she was beautiful inside and.kind and.loving
Kindness, do unto others as you would do unto you, the golden rule. Daisy nurses Sterling and falls in love so she leaves because she has always been told she was ugly. - Babs
Ms. Ball is a terrific story teller and her plots, romance and characters are believable. To those who criticized her as her ending comments state, shame on you! Her books have helped me with a few things I have struggled with.
I wish there were more books to the series! I've really enjoyed reading all of them. A few editing issues but it didn't take away from the story for me. You have to live a story where the girl gets rescued by the handsome cowboy!
I have read all six books, throughly enjoying them. They were moving, and quite loving, but mostly very Christian ✝️ and God fearing. Thank you and I look forward to reading your other books.
These books make you see that there are still good and bad people in the world. While we really know this, these books make us see that there are more goof than bad and that our Heavenly Father is still in control.
Good story, especially liked the characters...Always love cowboys. I liked having the main characters less than perfect in outward appearance. Liked the prayer life of the characters.
I have enjoyed this series so much . The love of the characters and Christian values made each story so inspiring. Please keep writing. You have wonderful talent.
This was an excellent read, Christian to the core,.those who's at otherwise should examine themselves and their own relationship to owe.lord Jesus Christ!
Seemed carelessly written, not well thought out, though not bad either, or I wouldn’t have read the whole book. I’ve come to expect better writing from this author.
