Why some authors feel the need to do so much in so few pages I’ll never understand. Nothing of substance happened in this story, including decently written spicy scenes. I found both main characters to be boring and with the same horniness as a teenage boy. The FMC definitely gave off gold digging vibes and was extremely unlikeable.
I should have known it was going to be a train wreck when the author mentioned “jewels/family jewels” twice within the first 10pgs.

Max's short but sweet story of love before Jenna.
Just when I was all consumed with the Max and Crystal's blossoming relationship and love, it ends! Yes, I know this is just a novella, but, DAYUM! Something Real is just the "tip of the iceberg" of Max and Crystal's life... before Max met Jenna. Wow! I loved the Something Great trilogy and all the spin-off novels that came after. Now, with Something Real!?! I want more of Max and Crystal. It's a great novella revealing the Max's story before the Something Great trilogy began.
Loved, loved, loved this. Would love to have read more.... This is a great start to a full novel into this Something Great "universe." I so want more....hahaha!!!

This is a novella to the Something Great series, which is my favorite series ever. I loved these characters and to get to go back to them with this book made me so happy. Max and Crystal are something hot! To see their relationship start from the beginning it is sweet and sexy, and they jumped right into it. I never can get enough with the Knight brothers. Its a must read!

I should start this by saying that I probably shouldn’t have read this as the first book in this series because I have no investment in either Maxwell or Crystal. Maybe if you read a different book in this series this novella would make sense but for me it felt unnecessary. 2⭐️

A quick novella about Max and introducing Crystal. Read Something Great first, though. I really enjoyed this novella despite not liking Crystal. That's all I can say without giving anything away.

I got this as a freebie from Apollycon last year and didn’t know what to expect. It’s smut with a solid plot. Solid plot because it’s part of a much bigger fleshed out series. But it’s so short but the spicy scenes are just right.
Maxwell is best appointed head of his fathers company and with it comes new responsibilities. Responsibilities Crystal is determined to help him with. So when he needs to go on a trip to Japan, Crystal is happy to tag along. And show him exactly how invaluable she can be.
Definitely a good short story. And definitely a good story to pick up if you like the rest of the series.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!!!
I always want more more more, so I really enjoy getting sneak peeks into my favorite character’s past. This novella gave us just that. I have missed these characters (ok some more than others because well...Jenna is the one I see him with. However we all have past loves, so it’s nice to understand their relationship a bit more.) I would still love to see more of the characters come around, but this was a wonderful addition.
