Designed as a "teacher's book," the fifth edition of Torts: Cases, Problems, and Exercises contains thought-provoking problems designed to stimulate interesting classroom discussion that can be carried throughout each substantive chapter. The problems are designed to help students learn doctrine, to illuminate trends in the law, and to ultimately produce better learning. A secondary goal was to include a "skills" component, with problems that place students in situations they are likely to encounter in practice, in order to encourage them to think about how they might handle these situations.

About the author

Professor Russell L. Weaver graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1978. He was a member of the Missouri Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and won the Judge Roy Harper Prize. After law school, Professor Weaver was associated with Watson, Ess, Marshall & Enggas in Kansas City, Missouri, and worked for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of General Counsel in Washington, D.C.
