Sin and Tonic is a collection of short romances all centered around bars, speciality drinks, a speakeasy, and all the emotions! Only one of these authors I’ve read before, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to read each of these stories, but I’m so happy I did!! I found new authors to follow, new couples to fall in love with, a huge helping of laughter, a dash of tears, mixed with drama, and poured through a strainer of love right into my reader! I loved these stories and definitely recommend this collection!
Wild Thang by Tessa Layne - Mason and Luci have known each other for the past two years, but now is Mason’s chance to convince Luci to stay... hopefully with him. He has twenty four hours - can they fall for each other? This book is the perfect blend between sweet and spicy, with a connection between the characters that’s fun, engaging, with a dash of conflict. I loved reading this book - it felt almost like a fairy tale for me because it all happens so fast, and it’s amazing what all can happen during a day, but I fell in love with these characters and am so excited about this new direction for a series by Ms. Layne. Mason is romantic and sweet, Luci is fun and tends to wear her heart on her sleeve, and they just made a couple that really suits each other! This is a fantastic beginning and bridge, and I really hope to see more of Mason and Luci!
All In by Mira Lyn Kelly - Jason and Laine have worked together for the past two years, and they both have some serious feelings for the other. But Jason has a reputation and has already pushed Laine away once. Will he be able to convince her that his feelings are true and he wants love? Oh my, once I started this romance, I didn’t stop until it was done! I was completely captivated by the romance between Jason and Laine, the angst, the love, the intense chemistry! My favorite parts were when they were both vulnerable and opening up, and I adored the lengths that Jason went to for Laine! So romantic! Ms. Kelly is a new author for me, but now I just want to devour her books, especially since side characters already have a book!
French Kiss by R.L. Kenderson - Lacey’s father just passed away and has left his beloved bar to Lacey, only if she can stay in the states for a year and work with Jake. Jake and Lacey start as enemies, but when a dared kiss comes between them, is there hope for more? I wasn’t sure what to think about this romance at first, because I didn’t love Lacey, but I’m happy I kept reading because I ended up really enjoying this story! Lacey and Jake have a ton of chemistry that they both deny, but I loved their slow change from enemies, to lovers, to friends, and falling. They have a few issues to work out between them, there’s a few hiccups that come their way, but I loved their determination and enjoyed reading how their relationship evolved! This was my first romance by these authors, but I definitely want to read more, it would be awesome if there were more centered around this small town, and overall enjoyed Lacey and Jake!
Irish Legend by K.C. Enders - Finn and Addie have been together for a while now, and both have huge, life changing plans set for their trip. But with Finn acting strange, secrets, and some miscommunications, will the perfect plans come crashing down? Oh my goodness, this is my first taste of Finn and Addie, and I’m completely addicted! They’re so perfect for each other, my heart strings were completely pulled! Addie has some insecurities and anxieties, but Finn is so good about settling her down. I love that we, the readers, know what’s going on the whole time, from both points of view, and you’re simultaneously cheering them on and cringing at the potentials that could go wrong. I definitely fell for this couple, for their current trials, and can’t wait to read more about them and from this author!
Redheaded $lut by Kayti McGee - Bridget is about to get married, but the night before, she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her. Making a spectacular show, she ends her engagement and decides to marry Phoenix, her DJ, instead. Could this impulsive action be the best decision she ever made? This romance was pretty fun, but Bridget took a little getting used to. She seems a little brash and bold, but I love that she’s unapologetic about who she is and the family she’s surrounded by. She tries so hard to balance “being an adult,” aka, being settling and responsibilities, with trying to have fun and going after what she wants. I loved that we see so much of her sisters and I was cracking up over the hierarchy of favorite sisters. This was a fun, short little read with lots of emotions, bold actions, and a surprising romance!
