description I was hoping for good things from this book. I wasn't overly crazy about book one. I couldn't stand Easton. The guy was a butthurt douche over something that was never even Charlotte's fault. That said, I had hopes we'd get a better Easton in this one...we didn't. Well, not until 65% at which time he just turns into husband of the year because Jill (who suddenly has feelings for Easton) states the freaking obvious to him. On top of that, this is the second book in the last few days that has the hero sending <--- is this going to be a thing now?? Because it crosses SOOO many lines and I find it hard to believe anyone would ever be with someone who did that to them...sigh.

Ugh...anyway, I could go on and on nitpicking, but I won't. This duet just didn't work for me. However, I am just one opinion in a sea of many, so keep that in mind when deciding whether or not you want to read this book.

Holy hotness!

This was a fab read. The emotions evoked were as real as they get.
The feelings of loss, betrayal, and loneliness made my heart bleed for Charlotte.
Eastons loss and grief causing his anger, revengefullness, and spite taking over .

All this masking the flame of something special that was lit by a tiny spark years earlier.
A spark that would burn slowly and steadily until it burns away all other emotions except love, respect and gratitude.

Don't be fooled however that this is a lovely dovey romance .
This is harsh & dirty, hot & steamy, bitter & twisted, wrong yet right in so many ways.

I was gripped from the start. A brilliant end to the two book set .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Arc of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Updated- I have listened to the audio for this book, and I have to say it was unreal.

Rarely do I give a one star rating to a book, but here I am and here's why. This is going to be a really long rant. I apologize in advance.
The book is a dark romance. It's the second in a duet about Charlotte and Easton. Charlotte married Easton as payment of a debt owed by her father, otherwise Easton would have killed her father (or something like that). It's all a bit convoluted and illogical really. That's pretty much my big issues with this book. It's ridiculous. It's fiction, I get it. I don't expect a dose of reality from my fiction. With that, I do need it to follow some rules of logic set up in said fictional world. In other words, things that make sense in a fictional world that doesn't make sense.
The book starts off right where book one ended. Easton was a dick in the last book, and nothing much changes in the first. New characters are introduced at the beginning named Deion and Ashanti. They are the man and daughter that take in Charlotte after her escape. They are entirely too forgiving of the situation that Easton puts them in. They are too agreeable and understanding in my opinion. At one point, Deion says "You didn't choose your father. None of us did. Mine isn't perfect either." I'm sure his father didn't pull half the shit that Charlotte's did. Also, with all the terrible things Charlotte's father did, it's still crazy to me that she would let herself be held captive for him. Again, I'm expecting things to make sense. Lesson learned, have no expectations if you don't want to be disappointed.
As far as Easton's character, there needed to be some character development for this insane romance to be believable. I wanted to like him. I did. Even in the first book I didn't like him. That really didn't change in this book. He's a dick. Plain and simple. A dark hero I can get behind though. I'm a sucker for a sexy villain/bad boy. Some fictional characters can pull off the attractive asshole, Easton could not. I didn't like Easton's character. I found nothing about him redeeming, charming, seductive, appealing, or in any way likable. There's a scene where he's taking her back to his house and he says " if you keep acting like a brat I'll spank you." I'm paraphrasing a bit, but that's the gist. Charlotte responds with" I forgot how seductive he can be I'll have to be careful I don't get seduced." Again, I'm paraphrasing, but that's still the main sentiment. Now, some might find that sexy as hell, and that's great. I found it ridiculous, which is probably the main word I have when describing this book. I am now going to use all caps because I have a lot of strong feelings. HE'S NOT SEDUCTIVE. HE'S NOT SEXY. HE'S NOT GOOD. THIS IS NOT ATTRACTIVE BEHAVIOR. I was practically screaming at the book for Charlotte not to fall for his bullshit.
For the romance to work at some point Easton had to stop being a dick, or do something that made him redeemable. The switch in his character was entirely too fast and didn't make sense. He completely switched from "I want to claim her. I want revenge. I hate her dad. She's mine. Mwaahaahahaha" to "I love her. I need to give her her freedom. I don't need revenge. All I care about is her happiness." I don't buy it. It was too weak a transition. Same thing with Charlotte. She went from "I hate him. I just want my freedom. I'm attracted, but I'll never love him. I'm in hell." to "Please fuck my pussy, Easton. I love you. You're not the devil, just an angel with clipped wings." (Yes, that last bit are actual lines from the book.) Her change in perspective was too fast to be believable.
The ending was another wild ride on the "I don't make sense" roller coaster. Maybe this speaks to what a twisted person I am, but I would have killed Charlotte's dad. He ends up being the big bad villain in this one, the scapegoat for all the problems in this book, if you will. Since he's the big bad guy it makes even less sense to me why she agreed to this captivity/marriage.
Side note: there is a cleanup crew in the book that comes and takes care of the dead bodies, the company. Are they in the Yellowpages? They on speed dial? Do they advertise? Can you find them on Facebook? They literally just show up whenever they are needed, clean up the dead bodies, take the money and go. It's an interesting little business they got there. Very convenient for Easton, though.
Overall, there were just too many plot holes and character inconsistencies with not enough believable transitions for this to work for me. It's fiction it doesn't have be logical, but for me it does have to make sense within it's own world. This one was a no for me.

Heroine lost last of her brain cells. She is homeless and goes to sleep in a crack house, then park pench, then she goes into a house of a complete stranger. They are in the netherlands, she should go to US embacy.
When hero ask his father to find her, it makes no sence, because he is in US ..but it seems Author forgot that her family lived in US and that she flew to netherlands. She writes that her family is also in netherlands (?) and that she should meet up, because her brother is in hospital.
So heroine is this "caring naive sweeetheart" and calls his father from the starngers phone, in his house. Phone that has contract, is not burner. Then she destroys it "they can't track it that way". - oh yeah? They just get the number, get the provider and info who this nr belongs to and his adress. They dont need the actual phone. But heroine who is supposed to be smart does one very stupid decision after another.
But seems the world works in a weird way author thinks it does, so they do not find her for weeks.

It is super hard for me to read this book, because author does not seem to have knowledge of what she is writing about and she forgets things in the plot.

Sospira.

A Debt Repaid by Clarissa Wild is book Two in The Debt Duet. This continues the story of Charlotte and Easton, so you really should read the first book 'A Debt Owed' before reading this one.
This book starts where the last one ended with Charlotte running from Easton and toward freedom. But of course Easton is looking for her but sadly someone else is looking for her too.
Easton was a hard hero to like but almost middle of the road he started doing better, so if you like a hard nosed slow to give in hero this book is for you like it was for me.
Overall enjoyed their story and will be looking for more from Ms. Wild.

I read both. Just no. Am I just the odd one out? He is certifiably crazy. Not just a dominant...but an actual crazy person. Hated the H in the first book and hated him all the way through the second. His character made no sense and his inner monologue was worse. Nope.

I loved this ending! Easton and Charlotte both had some growing up to do. Easton had a lot more than growing up to do; he had to get over his revenge and find the happiness that he wanted and craved. But when you have hated as long and as much as he has, it was going to be hard to do that, even with the love that Charlotte could give him.

Charlotte finally has gotten free of Easton and her family. She has gotten everything she could ever want with being free of Easton except Easton. So when Charlotte finds that that the only way to save someone is to go back to Easton, she will do just that.
A Debt Repaid is a beautiful book, and I enjoyed it very much. I will be rereading these books again!

The conclusion to this duet is perfect. Charlotte and Easton have had a very rough start in their marriage and things only get worse. Charlotte is determined to get her freedom and Easton is more determined to keep her locked up. These two battle to the end until a miracle happens and Easton finally understands what it is that Charlotte wants. Once the light was turned on, he was determined to make amends and Charlotte is in disbelief. Is this a trick or has he changed?! Let's not forget her awful Dad that causing issues between them and making Charlotte's life hell. Easton has finally realized what it takes to make her dad go away and seal the deal between these two. Can they truely be happy? Read to find out. I loved this book.

Made it through no 1 & 58% of 2

And that's enough.

The back & forth just became too much.
I don't know if it's dark. Maybe. She's 25 and paid for so a Dad who hates her won't die. But I feel like I've left a twisted teen drama with how stupid everyone acts.
I think I'll read a teen drama to shed the weirdness.

Wasn’t worth finishing. Easton is still a clownish, jealous baby. Charlotte spends half the book with some other guy. Ridiculous drama ensues and time speeds up. Pacing is way off. Time to stop investing energy into this book and pick up something else! I will say this, if you don’t despise Easton like I do, then chances are you’ll decently enjoy this book.

I have no idea why I continued this duet, after I hated the first one. But this one was just as idiotic. The messed-up relationship between the H & h became even more obvious after h runs away and stays with a single dad who made for a much better match.

In qualche modo. Lo so e basta. “

Mind blowing!
Staring of this book I had low expectations, the first book didn’t really make a mark for me but this book just wow.

The book stated of where it ended , she was running as fast as her legs could carrie her for the opportunity to finally be free. It was really interesting to see her struggle,to find her way but then one kind man made a big difference. When he first approached her I was defence thinking that he would hurt her or do something really bad like lock her up in the attic.

But I was pleasantly surprised he was just a regular man that had a kind heart with a sweet daughter with always made me laugh.
Living with them brought out a more happier side to her, then in the fist book where she almost seemed depressed all the time not even beeping able to look yourself in the mirror but being with this new family brought her to life.
Freedom was all she ever wanted but freedom had a cost and her’s were always looking behind her shoulder.

When we get to his prospective, we get to know how his life is without her. I think her living gave him a new prospective that not everything was about revenge because without her presents he couldn’t feel alive or whole.

The romance in this book definitely came forward, I Felt the connection between them just like when the meet as children.
The ending was perfect and some finally Disserved justice was dished out.

A Decent Book

So, let me reiterate that I love Clarissa and her works, and thoroughly enjoy them, but this duet did not do it for me. I'm not sure if maybe it is because it is a duet, which means the story is usually dragged out if there is not enough substance, but I felt disconnected from the story and characters, and almost bored. It almost didn't even feel like one of Clarissa's books. It interested me enough where I didn't feel like I had to DNF it at anytime, but still not interesting enough to give it anymore stars. Just like in the last one, the h is daft and dense, with severe personality changes, just like the H again, and no real development at all. There was no real conflict in the story, in my opinion, just the back and forth between the h and H. Overall, decent story, other people might enjoy it more, especially because I am very picky, but I will still be reading more of Clarissa's books in the future.

I absolutely devoured this entire duet. Book 2 I finished in one sitting. It was everything I love in a great mafia romance. Hero was raw, gritty, flawed and had the best redemptive qualities I could ever ask for.

Book one left me hating the guy and hoping he can never get her back. Clarissa Wild’s writing had me on this fantastic rollercoaster of emotions. Where I loved her hero and heroine, I hated them and fell in love all over again.

I read this book via audio and I can never say enough things about the amazing duo Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross together they pulled these characters right off the pages and made them real.

Well I continue the book after reading the first one and it's expected of course Easton did changed a little bit and they were able to fix their relationship and her dad was still an a*******. To be honest I don't like to start a book without finishing it if the series continues so I chose to continue this book but i-Ready more to finishing up because I really enjoyed it . It was okay I expected more from the books based on how well it was reviewed I don't know how the author what about that but ehh.

Received This Book From Author For Honest Review & I Also Bought It!
I Give this Book a 4.5/5 Star Rating, will List As 4 Though.

If you Have and/or Read Book 1, You Won’t Be Disappointed With Book 2!

Romance: 5/5
Heat: 4.5/5
Suspense: 4/5
Drama: 4.5/5
Dark: 2/5 (Level Wise, Not Rating Wise)
Insta-Love(?): Heck to the No.
HEA(?): Yes!!
Predictable(?): Good Heavens No! Lol

This book didn’t go the way I was anticipating it would.

From The Way Book 1 Ended, Then Jumping Into This Book, I Was Anticipating...
Between Charlotte & Easton:
‘War & Maybe Explosions(??)’
(I Don’t Think Literally Though... But Ya’Know ‘Plot Wise’ aka CRAZY SHITE ABOUT TO GO DOWN!!)
When Charlotte returned to him, I was Expecting Female BADASSERY (Yeah! In Yo Face Autocorrect, IT’S A WORD! I Even Looked It Up To Make Sure I Wasn’t Going Crazy) also with an Awesome Mind Blowing Motive.

-My Craving For Fictional Revenge Was Maybe Possibly Inspired By John Wick...but ya know..-
(Maybe An Idea For A Future Book? Hehe)

Alas... that did not happen.

BUT the way things DID go down.

I won’t deny, I was continuously flipping (or technically swiping Lol) to the next page!

Charlotte, Easton & a Few Other Characters, seemed to have been Dialed Down a bit more than I would’ve liked..

The Way Romance was nudged(?) in the book...It seemed a tad out of character to me, cause it seemed a bit rushed at the ‘starting point’ of it.
When Jill ‘Verbally Goosed’ Easton in the love direction, it was odd to me at how quick & willing he ‘went with/jumped on’ it.
But a Bit After That (to me, it was) Stumble, The Romance Pace took a MUCH Better turn.
I Would Not -At All- Classify This As Insta-Love (Thank Goodness!), I Would Classify This As A Medium/Slowish Burner Love and That Made Me SUPER Happy.
I really did throughly enjoy it, some areas were so unexpectedly Soft & Sweet that (I Swear to You) I could hear Girls ‘Harmoniously Fawning’ over Easton and Won’t Deny, I Did Too Lol
I Literally Was Agnes from Despicable Me at Some Points; Where She Wins The Unicorn and says “It’s So Fluffy!!”
My Reaction instead was “Easton’s So Freakin Cute!!”

-Your Welcome For The Imagery!-
LOL

Please! Please! Please! Please!
Give
Deion <——— He’s Right There!!!! Lol
A
Book!
I would love to know him a lot more!

I Wanted to Keep Reading this Book so much, that I even had to come to a decision at one point:
Either I Go To Sleep Now or Keep Reading BUT I Can Barely See The Words Cause They’re Blurred From Overlapping Each Other...
Sadly, I Had to Choose Sleep. Lol
But As Soon As I Woke Up, I Jumped Back Into This Book.
Anything In The Real World That Needed My Attention? - Be Damned Lol

Highly Recommend This Book & Author!
Will I Read More of Clarissa’s Books? Absolutely!!

OMG... JESUS FUCK... What the hell?

Alright... I need to say this. If you want to read this. You NEED to read this from book one, as this is a duet and you will be all kinds of confused otherwise.

Well, with that out of the way... to the review... SERIOUSLY?! My head is a mess right now. I don't know how to feel. I don't know why I don't know how to feel... No actually, that is a lie. I do... It's because once again, Ms. Wild has gone and blown my mind, twisted me all out of shape and she has me questioning my own morals and my own sanity.

Why do I even like, let alone LOVE Easton? He was a bad man. He was horrible with everything he did to Charlotte. He did some questionable things throughout the book... But here I am, my head spinning and my emotions scattered. This character has gotten under my skin.

I don't want to give anything away. Seriously you all need to experience this duet blind... But one thing? Be prepared to be all bent out of shape, for your emotions to be all over the place. This took me on a roller coaster, and I am still sitting here wanting to scream... or throw something...

Once again, Clarissa creates a dark romance that you can't help but fall victim to LOL and fall in love with the characters, even though you know you really shouldn't. I take my hat off to this author, she certainly knows how to keep me on my toes.

I wished for it to be better then the first one! I really really did!
I'm so so sorry, but it just wasn't for me. I love captive stories and indebted stories, but it is just a really really though genre to write so you'll fall in love with the H. So I'm sad to say this one wasn't for me and didn't meet my expectations.

Just like in the first one there were a few parts that seemed so pushed like it doesn't feel natural to me. There was also a lot of miss communication or so it seemed to me. Than the H did something bad and I at first it seemed like he truly liked and respected the h, but then he does things that make you think it was all a game.

I truly hope you still give this book a shot if you read my review! Because I wrote it to let these feelings go, so I can move on!

In this second book of the duology, we find Easton and Charlotte in a struggle between the heart and the right to own a life.
Charlotte had been "sold" by her father to Easton to reclaim the family's fortune.
Tired of being considered nothing less than a pet, Charlotte decides to take revenge on Easton, and flees leaving him without a trace to locate her.
Long ago, Easton no longer considered Charlotte merely as a means of revenge. He loved her. But since her escape, he needed to find a way to show her that his feelings were true.

The debt was paid, but the price was higher than everyone thought...

This is Clarissa Wild's The Debt Duet, so A Debt Repaid is the epic conclusion, which means YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST READ A Debt Owed FIRST! I have to say that I never know what to expect what direction that Ms. Wild is going to go with her stories, so I really can't get into what has taken place, just that in this story, it picked right back up where Book 1 left off. I was still mad as hell at Easton, and wanted to set him on fire, so obviously, I'm completely #TEAMCHARLOTTE ALL THE WAY. Hell, I want to set Charlotte's father, and possibly her brother on fire as well. No one has done right by my amazing girl, and I just wished that she had punished Easton a bit longer. There is a cast of secondaries who do treat her right, and even have her back, including when it comes to telling Easton what he's done wrong, and he's done some crap. There's some huge twists that had me dropping loud f-bombs, with one giant one that almost had me bawling like a b*t*h baby to be honest. For me, I'm not sure that I would have ever forgiven Easton, but that's me, however, I kept turning the pages & didn't put it down for anything so that's why I gave it the 5 star rating. So does he get things turned around?! You'll have to one click A Debt Repaid to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A Debt Repaid is book two in The Debt Duet. It moves past Easton's dark retributions and brings Charlotte into the light. This series is dark, angsty and delicious.

A Debt Owed left us with a huge cliffhanger, Charlotte had escape from her husband, her tormentor, East Van Buren. Charlotte had been sold to Easton by her father in exchange for a loan. He held her captive, taking away her freedom. After Charlotte's escape, she was left wandering the streets until a stranger offered her a safe place to stay. Easton wants her back, he has everyone available looking for her. He went as far as threatening her father. This leads to just enough angst to finish the story in one sitting!

Easton self discovery comes in enough time to make this a very happy ending. 4 Stars
