True Hearts
: Pamela Ferguson

Sunny and Buck had noticed each other years ago. His family history and her controlling yet loving mother don't mesh. Buck moves away and builds a successful business, but a solitary life. When he returns home for a family wedding, sparks fly. Will they get a second chance at love or will old problems keep them apart. The town loves to gossip and can be judgmental but they still look out for their own. A good clean romance with a whole cast of characters.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Stephanie Dillard made this an easy and enjoyable listen.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I loved this book. The author's faith was laced throughout this book. I grew up in a large town and have lived my adult life in a small one. Actually not far from where this story takes place. This story of Lilac is typical of small towns and their gossip grape vine. You have to take the good with the bad. It is apparent how small towns can affect the lives of the people who live there and influences their actions and decisions. This book was excellent, heartwarming and pure. Love is a gift from God and Pamela Ferguson did a awesome job of getting that across. The narrator was wonderful as well. She brought the characters and the story to life.

True Hearts was a very sweet romance laced with God's word and influence into the lives of two separate families. The main characters, Sunny and Buck were well fleshed out. This is a very well written story with some heartache, family relationship issues, and the need to be accepted. Sunny and Buck come from two different walks of life. Can Sunny's mother and father put aside their feelings and be happy for Sunny?

I found myself immersed in the conflicts of the characters and rooted for the underdog. The story had some intense moments which moved the story along nicely. The ending wrapped everything up and there were some surprises along the way. Awesome read. I can't wait to read the next one. I highly recommend Pamela Ferguson's books. You won't be disappointed.

cute small town romance. Sunny and Buck were both likeable, strong characters. The book moved a bit slow at times but nothing too bad.

True Hearts
Lilac Romance, Book 2
By: Pamela Ferguson
Narrated by: Stephanie Dillard

It is nice to be back in Pamela Ferguson’s Lilac for another fabulously sweet and meaningful small town romance. This is the second book in the series but it stands on its own characters from the first book make appearances and it is like seeing old friends. This book is Sunny DeStefano and Buck Day’s story, Lilac is home to Sunny and she loves living the small town life. After her father’s heart attack, her parents retired and moved to Florida for retired living, Sunny took over her mother’s hair salon and even though her mother is out of state, she still micromanagers her as if she was there. All of her mother’s friends call her to fill her in on everything going on, not only in Lilac but in Sunny’s life and the salon. Sunny wants to manage the store her own way, but her mother gives her a hard time, even from a distance. Sunny is busy making everyone’s hair pretty for Donnie Green and Leanna Killian’s wedding, which most of the townfolk will attend, plus some past residents, including Buck Day. Buck never had a great family life and left Lilac without looking back, he always had a crush on Sunny, but he knows she would be a forever type of girl, something he never wanted. Even though he made another life for himself and built a successful business, he still feels lonely and seeing Sunny again stirs up old feelings and Lilac offers some more surprises for him, including a family member he never knew he had. This beautifully plotted story captivated my attention from start to end, it contains plenty of drama, both family, relationship and town, heartwarming and heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance. Pamela Ferguson, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Stephanie Dillard continues to do an awesome job of bringing these characters and story to life. She has a complete understanding of the characters she is portraying, gives each a voice that fits the character’s persona, sounding believable in each role she plays and just as I picture the characters to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. Stephanie Dillard is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.

There is something to be said about small town romance. The buzz of the community, the lack of privacy and the forward questions! When it comes to Buck and Sunny, this is all true! Buck has come back to Lilac to attend a wedding, and when he sees Sunny, all the feelings from his teenage years come flooding back. Sunny is attracted to him too, but now that they are both grown, will they fit together? What I really love about this book is the senior home. Ferguson has woven in Mountain Mist and it fun cast of seniors. It brings a true sense of life and how history is so important to the community. We get to enjoy their conversations and wisdom, and Buck in particular finds a part of him he didn't know. This second chance at finding love and happiness is fun, witty and full of charisma. I loved it.

Stephanie Dillard continues this series with her wonderful narration. She has a very warm voice and easily changes it for the characters. This book has so many of different ages, and she seamlessly switches from teenage to senior citizen. It's a pleasure to hear her.

This was extremely dull, and I thought for sure that I was missing something and literally started it over again from the beginning 4 times.
There is a lot of time spent with characters just gossiping about other characters—many of whom I haven’t met, so it seems rather pointless as a reader. Seems more like it was designed just to entertain whoever imagined up this world, than someone unfamiliar with it.

I struggled through these bits (some many times, as stated above), certain that something might happen somewhere but … nothing really did.

Overall very dull.

Audio-
The narrator more dictates like a robot than performs, for the most part, and her voice is rather high-pitched. I recommend listening to the sample before committing to be sure you’ll be able to handle it. Not bad, per se, but possibly an acquired taste. My ears were bleeding a bit after a while, I had to listen to this one in spurts.
That said, not bad overall and a smooth, professional production. 3 stars on this front.

Edition! audiobook.

This book was awesome. Just like the previous book I read by this author. They are all set in the small town of Lilac, so it was wonderful to catch up again with my favourite characters, and find out how they had fared. I also got to meet some new characters. I was totally lost in this story and found the book hard to put down. I also found myself rethinking some of the characters who i thought were totally horrible. I found myself feeling sorry for them. The theme of reconciliation, and forgiveness are strong throughout this book. The narration was wonderful as well. There were some laugh out loud moments as well as serious and moving.

I would highly recommend this book.

This series has made me fall in love with the town of Lilac, I wish I could move there. It highlights both the best and worst aspects of small town life.

It was great to catch up with all the characters from the previous books and this book has some great twists that made it grab my attention and refuse to let go.

I loved the second chance romance, both Sunny and Buck go through a lot of personal growth during the book and felt like I could meet them walking down the street.

The narration is just as good as the book and makes the story come alive with character voices that match the characters personality and a dynamic delivery that conveyed emotion.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

This is a great fantastic love story . Pamela knows how to grab your heat which is a given with love story . Listen to this audio and let it speak to your hear .

Hero is Buck . Heroine is Sunny
This story shows how a family fued will keep two people who are meant for each other apart . Also it shows how even though your from different classes money wise don’t let it keep you apart.
Buck left the small town and mane a successful business. He goes back to the same town for a wedding when he sees Sunny . He still not over her . Will sunny and Buck family keep them apart

The narrator voice of Stephanie was great. Her voice is smooth, clear and strong. She did all the characters great

Family Matters

Her mother left town, leaving her in charge of the salon--but mom's still trying to run the show. His mother likes men, well enough to give five of them a child, but she's not interested in her own children and walks out on them. She's been best friends with his sister and known him most of his life. Can they get over highschool's heartbreaks and their mother issues? It seems too much parental attention can be as chilling as too little.

Narrator Stephanie Dillard does a great job vocalizing this complex, multi-layered story which forces the protagonists to work out who they are and what they want.

True Hearts was another great read by Pamela Ferguson. Sunny is a hair salon manager who loves living her small-town life. Buck returns to their small town for a family wedding and Sunny realizes that she has strong feelings for Buck. Buck tried fighting off the feelings because he wanted to believe moving out of the small town was exactly what he wanted. I loved listening to Sunny and Buck's story. They are characters that you fall in love with. I can't wait to read more by Pamela Ferguson.

I wasn't aware this was a faith based romance when I started reading. It was sweet and wonderful. I liked each of the characters, and the happily ever after certainly didn't disappoint. The story line flowed well and was polished. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a story that is pure romance.

Cute, clean romance

This is a cute story...the h is desperately trying to assert her independence from her controlling mother while helping lots of folks in her tiny hometown of Lilac, VA. When the former town’s bad boy returns for his stepfather’s wedding, the pair connect, but can the town’s good girl really find love with a bad boy...who has lots of insecurities?
