‘This is the life I would’ve chosen for myself no matter what…’
Charity Parkerson has published many books – romance stories for every inclination, LGBT, Bisexual, paranormal erotica – about every form of sensuality imaginable. Her audience is very large and her books are increasingly successful.
SUGAR HERO is Book 15 of her popular SUGAR DADDIES SERIES, and while Charity continues to write the steamiest erotica on record, this story adds a sensitive examination of interpersonal relationships, age differences, victims of abuse and those who rescue them. Charity’s respect for her readers is evident in her opening statements about the content of this novel – that it raises the problem of sexual abuse and ‘it’s so important for survivors to have a voice.’
As always, the opening words of Charity’s stories set a tone and a slice of history that initiates the story: ‘It was a cabin in the middle of nowhere. His boss, Zander, had warned Adrik it would be, but he hadn’t realized how far from civilization he would be on this trip to question a retired hitman. Adrik had thought he was brave enough for this. That enough time had passed. Until he saw the cabin, and the seclusion set in, that is. Each breath Adrik took came harder than the last. He was drowning on dry land. Every place he looked, Adrik saw the past. Adrik saw the face of the man who had destroyed him.’ Then we discover Adrik’s rescuer is actually present …

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey’s books)
it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole

Sold to the highest bidder when only a child, Adrik has grown up knowing nothing of love or security—only abuse, fear and isolation. Adrik feels beyond broken and wonders if his savior will ever see him as anything but just that…broken.
Leo has committed his life to protecting others, and after rescuing Adrik from a horrific situation of abuse, he vows to never allow Adrik to feel anything but safe. But as time goes by, Leo’s heart sees in Adrik his other half, but is too afraid to take the risk of telling him how he feels. For if Adrik knows, would he return Leo’s love or will the past be too much for Adrik to move forward and cost them both a chance at a happily ever after…
Sugar Hero is a heart wrenching read that I would recommend but would also caution that the abuse Adrik suffered could pose a trigger for some readers. This is the 15th installment the Sugar Daddies series. In order to fully enjoy, it is my opinion they should be read in order as each story builds from the previous.

Detective Leo Humphrey swept in and saved Adrik two and a half years ago and then gave him his first real home. Adrik couldn't help but fall in love with Leo. Adrik is too young for Leo and used to be his guardian but Leo loves the twenty-year-old who has come so far in his recovery, but is it far enough? Leo is prepared to give him the time he needs even if it hurts him. Neither Adrik nor Leo are looking anywhere else but at each other. Hopefully, they can figure that out before they ruin everything.
I loved this story about an abused and damaged man who fell in love with his rescuer/protector and just needs to finish sorting himself out before he can try to have a future with him. I loved Adrikand found Leo quite annoying with this sense of honour and determination to let Adrik make his own choices even if they would hurt him. I wanted to shake Leo at times. The data from the flash drive was interesting and the conclusion. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Loved Adrick
Okay, Adrick was utterly adorable. He’s this mix of innocent and brave, but still shy and timid. I loved him. His backstory is heartbreaking. But seeing his strength and will to move forward and become something more was wonderful. Leo seemed like a good match for him, except he too, suffered from this idea that he needed to set Adrick free to explore life with someone his own age. Ugh. All the martyrs are starting to wear thin.
Still, Leo’s patience and care with Adrick was wonderful and they ultimately made for a great pairing. Though surprising Adrick with a wedding seemed like the exact opposite of something Adrick would want and be comfortable with, but hey, whatever works, I guess.

Tamer than advertised
Although the author has a warning about this book dealing with some emotional issues such as rape and abuse, this book is not dark or explicit. As usual for these 'sugar' books, there is a lot of explicit sex, but the abuse is mentioned without going into any details or descriptions. So don't worry about that kind of content. If you've read any of the others in this series, then you'll find that this one is no different. It's a May\December romance that has a sweet heart and lots of sex.

Amazing story
Oh.. How I loved Leo and Adrik story. So perfect, they’re absolutely beautiful together!
Adrik can’t help but fall in love with Leo the cop who rescued him from a monster. I loved how Leo truly cares for Adrik willing to give him space no matter the cost to himself.
I adored these characters and I was rooting for their HEA!! Another 5 star read in my favorite M/M series 💖💖

Another great “Sugar” book. I would have preferred it to have been a longer read. I might have said this about previous books in the series. I feel like the books are getting shorter and shorter. I am so glad I get to read them in KU.

Adrik and Leo's story was so beautiful. I loved watching Adrik develop and come out on top of his issues and everything he'd suffered from.
I also adore the fact how this series is coming full circle with the next book. It's awesome!

Good Read
I enjoyed this book. It was a little sad, but a great HEA. I felt it could of been a little more emotional, but all in all it was a good read.

This book was absolutely amazing. I cried all the way through it. Not in a bad way. Adrik pulled at my heartstrings so hard. All he wants is love. Leo is the perfect protector for Adrik. Their story has been the hardest one I've read so far. However, through all the tears and turmoil finding out the ending was worth it. I loved the ups and downs with each word I read.
