After the all-out action of last volume, it's time for some rest and relaxation . . . and romance and romance and romance and romance and . . .
To celebrate their victory, Raven takes her crew to a peaceful island run by an old . . . friend . . . Since most of the crew has paired up at this point, it's time for everyone to have a date night. But first, there must be shopping and planning and much talking about feelings.
A cute and sweet interlude before the next adventure, but with an ominous epilogue casting doubt over the outcome of at least one of the relationships.

THIS WAS SO CUTE! Normally I'm not a huge fan of graphic novels where there is absolutely no advancement of the overall plot, but apparently the exception to that rule is if the entire thing is devoted to a large group of queer ladies going on dates ;) It was nice to see all the different dynamics between the couples and friend-groups and also it helped flesh out the characters who don't necessarily get a lot of page time in more of a the action heavy volumes. Overall a really fun detour.
Since her introduction in the Princeless Raven has been a favorite of mine. The books cater to an older audience and beautifully shows relationships between Raven and her crew. Raven has been on a mission of vengeance since her brothers tricked her out of her inheritance. She has gathered a crew of women from different backgrounds all seeking independence and becoming their best selves. This volume shows several of these women's relationships as they get some much needed R&R and a Date Night. Raven and her girlfriend Ximena continue to be my favorite couple and the artistic team on this book excel at showcasing women of different sizes shapes and skin tones.
I found myself reflected in many of the characters (especially the book obsessed), this entire issue shows different types of dates and also quiet friendship moments between friends. This was a nice pause in the overall arc of the story to celebrate the relationships Raven and her crew have developed
Strangely, I can see a reflection of myself in Raven, and of my girlfriend in Ximena. All the other characters I can see elements of my friends... What I'm saying is, this fantasy comic series about queer female pirates has rather believable characters.
I was so happy to get a copy of this volume, as I'd been waiting 8 months for a delivery that the "Forest" delivery company falsely promised would be with me asap. Bought with FP instead, and so worth it.
An adorable breath of fresh air. I think readers needed a break from the non-stop action and drama, just like the crew. There definitely was a competition to see who could create the best date ever...
Adorable. I'm a big fan of the series, which follows an all-lady crew of pirates. The series gets high marks for wide representation. Date Night sets aside the action and zooms in on the relationships among the crew, both romantic and platonic. Great fun!
I feel kinda meh about this one. Sure it was cute to see them all relaxing, having fun, and trying to plan the perfect date. But that is all there was, it actually got a little boring. Literally nothing happens.
Everyone plans the perfect date, and couples reveal some of their long-held insecurities. While this volume doesn’t have a super-dynamic plot, it wins on cuteness points!
What a delightful romp! I lost track of this series and it’s so much fun to catch up! Especially with such a sweet installment! As good as I remember, if not better!
Volume 7: Start of year three, I believe, and also date night! Does what it says on the tin. After the shenanigans at Golden Rock, Raven and her crew head to a safe port to rest, relax, heal, and generally have a good time. Also, Raven's ex-girlfriend is there! I love her, she's a joy. Anyway, there's no real plot progression here but there almost doesn't have to be; it's just our cute ladies hanging out with each other in various configurations both romantic and platonic. Very low-stress volume.
I still love this story and I really hope it gets continued. I think it's great. The dialogue is fantastic, the characters are so real and so relatable, and I am Invested in Ananda's plotline now (along with everyone else's). Highly recommended for teens and up.
