APOCALYPTIC THRILLER THAT WILL LEAVE YOU FEELING THERE IS STILL GOOD IN THE WORLD & HOPE FOR HUMANITY
EMP Desolation by S.A. Ison is not only a very well told story of a possibility of what might happen in the event of an EMP attack on the U.S. but a glance into there maybe hope in the face of all being lost and the U.S. sent back to the pre-industrial age with no access to food and supplies at your local convenience store, big boxed stores, or online shopping. With the loss of resources, all hell breaks loose and the fight for survival is set loose on everyone. The evil that has been hiding in the shadows are free to commit their atrocities with no police, firefighters, hospitals, and chaos is the norm of the day.
S.A. Ison writes with a voice that draws you into the book and clearly paints a picture of all her characters that leaves you thinking you truly know what they are going through and know deep down who and what they are as a person.
The cast of characters in this story are minimum-security inmates and guards, an odd bunch but it truly works and you will find yourself glued to the story to see how they endure the challenges they face on their trek to Tomi's uncle's home in the hills of Kentucky to avoid the violence and mayhem.
This is a story of growing friendship and newfound romance and love in the face of an unfortunate event that is as deadly as anytime in our past. It's a story of hope when it appears that all hope is lost. The heroes of this story are normal everyday people with everyday problems that band together not only for the chance of survival but because they are nice people with the knowledge of what's right and wrong and a high level of morals.
If you have a chance to read this book, I would highly recommend it. All of the books and series I have had the chance to read that S.A. Ison has written, I can honestly say that they are right up there as some of my favorite books and she's definitely one of my favorite authors. Her time-travel books are out of this world. You can not go wrong with her books.
