⚾️⚾️From the start, this friends to lovers book had my heart pounding for them to succeed.⚾️⚾️
Naomi Springthorp is a new-to-me author and I really enjoyed this friends-to-lovers sports romance, and was rapt to have been offered a chance to read and review it. It is book 5 in Naomi’s All About The Diamond series, but each book is a stand-a-lone.
Houck and Angie have been best friends since college, and have pretty much communicated most days in the last 13 years. Both are still unattached, and view relationships as unnecessary. Then one day, Angie arrives unexpectedly, and Houck wonders what on earth is going on.
I was all in, and very impressed from the start. These guys are both as independent as hell and very well rounded characters. They’re both successful in their respective careers, especially Houck who is a Closer for his professional baseball team. There was only one thing that began to wear on me and that was the continual internal thoughts. While it did show me the vulnerability of our characters as they were too scared to cross the line from the safe side of friendship into the excitement of a possible sexual, and permanent relationship, I did start to see them as extra noise. It certainly was a fresh approach, but perhaps just a little too much for me.
This was a good red-hot quick read, and one that I’m sure anyone could appreciate should they be looking to squeeze a book in at lunchtime or just to fill in a bit of time. I also don’t know too much about baseball, so the details of the game were just perfect for me to imagine this sexy as sin baller with an ice cold attitude under pressure doing his thing. Yep, I totally googled what a Closer does in the game! 4 stars.

The Closer is an All About the Diamond Romance, Book 5 but can be read as a standalone. It is short, sweet and hot, hot, hot!
Doug Houck is the closer for the Seals baseball team. Girlfriends come and go, but his thoughts are always of Angie, his college best friend. He thinks of her first thing in the morning and last thing at night, but they have always been just friends.

Houck doesn’t want to chance losing Angie’s friendship by trying to push for more. But when Angie shows up in San Diego suddenly, Houck has to decide if the reward is worth the risk.

The Closer is book 5 in the All About The Diamond Series. Doug is the closer for the Seals baseball team. If you’re looking for a very sweet novella with lots of sexy this is the book for you. “Super D” and Angie are great together. They’re both “wanting” but are unsure if the other feels the same. I love a good love story, that is of course hot as well.
This is a stand-alone book, so you don’t have to have read the other 4. However, after reading this book you’re going to be strongly tempted to get the other books by Naomi Springthorp. Believe me, you won’t regret it!
Do as Doug and Angie have, take the chance on this book. You’ll be glad you did.

Super D and Angie
Houck, aka Super D, is the closing pitcher for the Seals. He gets a text message from a college friend, Angie, who he hasn’t seen in 13 years that she is coming for a visit. Each has had a secret crush on the other and now they each wonder is the other will feel the same. This has great baseball, laughs and great chemistry between Super D and Angie. When Naomi Springthorp writes a book with baseball in it you know it’s accurate because of her love of the game. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

June 4, 2019This is the 5th book in this series, and the 1st one which I have read. Angie and Doug / Super D who is now the closer for the Seal baseball team, were best friends in college, and had a secret crush on each other. Now 13 years later Angie sends a text to Doug that she is coming for a visit. Can they act on their feelings? No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is fun, humorous, sweet, and an all round entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and I recommend for all.

I love a strong female lead and Angie has everything! Strong, independent, smart, funny. In the 5th installment of All About the Diamond Romance we meet Super D, the closer for the San Diego Seals. Can he close this deal? I love a good baseball story and Springthorp does baseball well.

They've been friends since college, yep the friend zone! He's Super D to her, how can he get her to understand he wants more? Angie's business partner is in premarital couples class, what do you do for your friend, you take the test with her. Problem when you answer your best friend's name for all the soulmate questions it becomes clear something's up! Fun quick read!

When the girl you have been crushing on for 15 years tells you she’s at the airport and that you need to talk. Doug and Angie are fighting their feelings for each other as the don’t want to lose their friendship, once they both decided it’s worth the chance they go all in and heat up the pages, they both finally admit they love each other but will need to work out the living arrangements, will they get the HEA they deserve another awesome baseball read by Naomi Springthorp.

Doug/Super D and Angie have been best friends since college. Doug has always loved Angie bout was afraid she didn’t feel the same and he didn’t want to do anything to hurt their friendship. Angie comes to visit because she needs to know if his feelings for her are the same as her feelings for him. They finally talk and get their feelings for each other out and they now can get their HEA.

Loved it!
I love reading Naomi Springthorp. The playlists are great - music is a huge part of my own memories. The way Naomi tells the story is like sitting down with a great friend to catch up. Her characters are real and so relatable.

I really enjoyed reading the friends to lovers sports romance. Angie and Houck/Super D was so good together, but they.we're afraid to start a relationship in fear of.ruining their lifelong friendship. Loved this book. Highly recommend.

I love Super D. He has loved Angie since college and compared all woman to her. It was fun watching Angie opening her eyes to what she has been missing out on. This story was fantastic!

This book does not disappoint as it is a fun, easy red and isn't short on the hotness!!!

Once again Naomi Springthorp wrote a hot hot hot book. It's perfect for this series and of course I can't wait for the next one and want a follow up to this books two characters. Naomi has a way of making me go into fantasy land when I read her books. I mean what girl doesn't fantasize about a hot baseball player on their arm. I'm guilty every time I read one of her books and when I watch a Dodgers game.
