Madness and Magic: The Seers' War

Rate this book
You can't choose your family.

If you could Baen probably wouldn't have chosen his. He could have filled an asylum with his aunts, uncles and grandparents! And Dariya certainly wouldn't have chosen hers. There was no one they wouldn't sacrifice for the Throne of Grenland – including her.

But as they had both learned, family was what you were born with. A life was what you grew into – a good one if you were smart.

Then one day Dariya's uncle sent a raiding party deep into the heart of the Hallows, risking a war with the Fae, and both their worlds were turned upside down. The bonds of family would be tested. The lives they had made for themselves would be thrown into chaos. And all around them madness and magic would rule – as it always had.

Great book

Except for some editorial issues this book is a great read. I like how it ties together. It’s witty, surprising and the steampunk is well done.

Awesome Steampunk

This story of a group of people who are trying to prevent a war between the kingdom of man and fae was a very entertaining fast paced action story that I really enjoyed.

Good book. Very good book. The MC was interesting and his magic was unique. I loved his inventions and his attitude when he got his motor bike. His family was hilarious and unexpected. I was in turns embarrassed and charmed.

The twists and turns in the story were great. Just when you thought you had a handle on what was going on, the plots changed and the ultimate evil was not who everyone thought it was. This book could have easily been changed into two books so I felt I got my money's worth.

You should read this book. Very enjoyable from start to finish. Another winner from Greg Curtis.

Title appropriate!

Baen wealthy secret wizard with very odd family keeps doing mostly nonviolent tricks to stop murderous king and evil royal brother from having power to misuse. You never know what will happen next. I also recommend Maverick and Dragon books by same author.

Excellent reading

I now understand why this is so highly rated! It is well deserved high rating. A fine reading time with plot, characters and storyline being excellent. It checks all my boxes and has a nice dose of humor thrown in at several places in the book. If you read an overview of this book and it interests you. Definitely worth time and cost to read!!!👍👍

Fantastic from start to stop

Another fantastic book from Greg Curtis. I've yet to read one I didn't absolutely love. In a world of endless sequels it's refreshing to have a full story in one (large) book.
