Sage Patterson yearns to succeed as an event rider on her forever horse, Star, but she is struggling to break through. She can’t measure up to Andrew Darling, a talented equestrian who is used to getting exactly what he wants. Andrew has a carousel of flashy horses and is destined to get to the top. His best chance is leagues above Star, who lacks flair in the dressage phase and simply may not be good enough.Sage is impatient to achieve glory. She pushes her horse too far and pays the ultimate price. Life begins to unravel - both people and horses get hurt – and vows once made are broken. When everything is thrown into doubt, and the prospect of competing at Burlington Horse Trials slips further from her grasp, Sage is forced to question her decisions and make some difficult choices. It might be too late to save Star, but Sage is determined to try, and in the process she might even save herself.

This is a romance novel

A romance novel with a few horse terms thrown in. The author goes on a rant every few pages to explain the main characters inner emotions. Mostly the story is told and not shown.

A Horse Life

Hazel Beecroft nails it again with another great story of a young equestrian, a horse, and the complexities of life. This is a totally believable and repeatedly moving book, well- written and very hard to put down. I look forward to further novels about the equestrians of Fenson.

Love Story

This was a wonderful book, a real love-story about a woman and her forever horse and her forever man and the horse and man that came between. It takes a not very likable woman and leads her through immaturity and selfishness to a true horsewoman and faithful wife. I loved this book and can hardly wait to read more by this author:

A Heart Warming Book

I have recently discovered all these wonderful horse novels. I loved that this writer covered the years of Star’s life. So many books leave you wondering what the future held for the people in the story. A great read!

I was so mad during parts of this book. How selfish can one person be! Great book though, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don’t Waste Your Time

Unrealistic and inane with a very un-likeable main character. The story does not flow smoothly and lacks polish. I won’t read anything else by this author.
