Former presidential aide Ryan Belvedere has been drifting in a fog of misery ever since his president was killed, but he reluctantly agrees to do a favor for a friend—fetching a rare book from a crumbling manor house in England. There he meets Sidney Blount—cold, sophisticated, Dominant—who’s at the same house to appraise the family art. It doesn’t take Sidney long to appraise Ryan too, and decide exactly what Ryan needs. Which just so happens to be the one thing Sidney wants to give…
The characters from New Camelot meet briefly the characters from the Thornchapel Series, while Merlin plays the matchmaker’s role. Ryan Belvedere used to be president Ash’s humble servant and he belonged totally to him. Now he is lonely and devastated since his beloved boss king is dead. Mr Blount is exactly who Ryan needs. He is cold, calculated and he loves to humiliate little subs like Ryan. Highly recommended if you loved the New Camelot series, but it can also be enjoyed as a standalone if you like BDSM contemporary love stories.
Gah, how does this author make me fall in love with a story that only felt like a handful of pages?
This is the story of Ryan Belvedere who is devastated and adrift after the death of his beloved president and boss, a man he more than admired. On a mission to retrieve a rare book, he encounters the sadistic dominant Mr Sidney Blount who happens to be everything he has craved and wished for. Fortunately, destiny has a plan for them as Mr Blount has been waiting for his own boy to discipline and care for…
“I want to be the one, Ryan,” he says in that crisp, elegant voice of his. “The one you begin to try with, and the one you open up to. I want you to be mine, like you were his.”
Set amidst the snowy, historical English village of Thorncombe, you can’t help but be swept away in the magic of it all. I felt nostalgic reading this and I adored these characters with their special kinks, that only Sierra Simone could dream up.
Although American Squire can be read as a stand-alone, it is a bridging book between The New Camelot and The Thornchapel Series.

Finally Ryan Belvedere gets his very deserved HEA 🤗 ahhhh what joy to go back to Camelot 😍 and way to get me intrigued into Thornchapel... I can’t wait for all books to be out so I can dive in.
This was such a delicious treat. A bite sized HEA for Ryan who I had grown to love in the New Camelot series. He deserved his Prince Charming, even if it comes in the form of a ruthless dominant Mr Blount. Yum!
short and quick novella about president ash’s aide ryan belvedere and how he finds purpose again and love in his life now that he’s no longer the president’s aide.
Sierra Simone è riuscita in una manciata di pagine ad ammaliarmi con il suo stile. Si tratta di una breve novella mm un po' bdsm che nonostante la sua velocità di azione ti fa comprendere il bisogno di dominio di Belvedere.
When two giant worlds did collide, my heart got trampled!! Camelot meets Thornchapel and I was left moist-pantied & breathles for more. Sierra I hate that it was so short!! GIMME MORE
A handsome icy- cold demeanor and aristocratic personality & features is what makes Sidney Blount "He’s Caesar standing at the Rubicon, Hannibal gazing up at the Alps. It’s an expression that says he’s ready to conquer, and conquer ruthlessly."
Just his introduction affected ME as a reader outside of the book, such magnetic and electric was his aura!! Sierra creates Larger than life Master Alphas. I still haven't gotten over Max Colchester, my president, my king and here she gives me Sidney Blount!! Be still my heart 🥰 Happy & dutiful Ryan Belvedere is equally effected by him and his pulse is pounding too, along with his other organs.
He's been sent to Thornchapel by Merlin & Nimue. "there’s just a house, and a book inside this house that’s been promised to Merlin and that is therefore my job to find." What happens next dropped my jaw to the floor...WTF!! Did he...?😮 Did she....?😮 Was this planned...?😮 How did she....?😮 O.M.G....😮
Sidney shows restraint but the vision of delectable Ryan kneeling at his feet, crying and begging for relief at his hands is too powerful to ignore, but he "ASKS " for consent and that's where his true mastery shows. “Am I competing with the hero you gave your body to, or only your heart? Have I lost the chance to try for you before I’ve even met you?”
Their scenes were blazing inferno of passion. No other way to describe it. I could FEEL the palpable chemistry, I could FEEL the dripping lust, I could FEEL the desperation in both Ryan's tears and Sidney's wondrous gratitude and then I could FEEL what was coming NEXT.... “Well, next, I think that I’d like to fall in love with you.” I am gone Sierra. Head over heels, topsy-turvy, dunked in oceans of love!! As a bona fide, loyal, dutiful reader and reviewer -> I DEMAND MORE!! You cant surely leave me (us) hanging!!!! The "Is that going to be a problem, Sierra?" #WriteSierraWrite!! The mystery, the power, the premonition left me reeling!! Merlin & Nimue have been always in the background I think. They never take charge but are always "In Charge" like master puppeteers. I so want more
I think I enjoyed this more because I cannot wait for the next Thornchapel book. ;) Plus, loved Ryan in Camelot series. Nice easy novella.
I listened to this in Read Me Romance. I think though that one chapter might be missed in Read Me Romance as the same chapter was played twice...maybe I just played it twice. LOL.
If you’ve read any books in this series then you know it’s a mess!! You also know that messes aren’t a bad thing and this book is just crazy enough to make you melt and beg for more.
Sierra Simone does a crossover with the New Camelot & Thornchaple series with this novella. Mr. Belvedere get's his happy on! #hotaf, #mmm #domain #erotic
This story is so beautifully written, as most Sierra Simone's books are. She has such a unique style, like an artist with a defined and unique style that I always love reading ❤️.
This story is about Ryan, who meets Sidney on a trip to the UK. Sidney is a cold and demanding hottie (also a Dom) whom Ryan instantly feels attracted to.
I recommend that you pickup this one if you usually like the author's work, as the plot and the story are a delight.
please enjoy my thoughts while reading this (spoilers for what happens, of course, and slight ones for the new camelot trilogy and a lesson in thorns): ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Two book worlds collide. The Camelot trilogy meets Thornchapel.
If you read A Lesson in Thorns you may have seen the little nod to the Ash’s most loyal servant Ryan Belvedere. Ryan is sent on a mission by Merlin to find a rare book in the library at Thornchapel. Events take place after American King. Ryan is a bit rudderless, jobless, lost.
He is introduced to Sidney Blount with his pristine clothes and leather gloves (the gloves are a thing to sigh at). He’s at Thornchapel to review the art in readiness for sale by our favourite posh boy Auden Guest.
Mr Blount may well be the rudder that the lovely Belvedere needs. Ding dong, it’s on! So hot! And sigh those gloves!
If I'm honest, BDSM isn't my favorite thing on the menu, but I'll pick up one occasionally. Especially if I love the author. Since Sierra Simone is a freaking genius with words, I knew I had to read this one. And you know what? I freaking loved it. Ryan and Sidney (and his leather gloves) were spectacular. It was super freaking sexy (duh!) and my only complaint is I wish there was a little more!
Short, hot, sweet. Not much more to say about American Squire, as it was only over a couple of days, and not much more than that happened. I would love to read more about Ryan, though, and I hope I'll get that one day.
Book 3 of the Smutathon i am doing!!! This one is to read a LGBTQ book and i didn't reallyy wanna read so late so i listened to RMR Podcast M/M romance!!
the narrator had a nice voice and lord almost put me to sleep lol which isn't a bad thing, We meet Ryan who is in a foggy funk since his president was killed and was asked to do a favor for a friend getting a rare book from a manor in another country. Now this is were the audio lost me.. Sidneys voice.. LORDDDD I CAN'T THE ACCENT HAD ME NO!! the way he voiced Ryan was so much better.. then when he switched to Sidney was blah it made me not invest that much into the story.. :( also.. I couldn't connect with these two.. :/
Low angst, no cheating, Sexy times, No virgins
slowburn-ish M/M BDSM Dom/Sub undertons LGBTQ

I'm finding it hard to adequately find words that will depict how this book made me feel. Sierra's books ALWAYS do this to me. I. Am. WRECKED by Ryan and Sidney, left full of all the feels. Such a Hot, sweet and sexy story ... and I especially LOVE Guy as a narrative. Once again Sierra delivers the PERFECT read that will stay with me for always.
Great short story! love that we get to finally heard about Ryan story and it was awesome.. the chemistry between him and Sydney was amazing. since the very beginning both felt so much attraction to each other and we get to finally see them together.. Love the narrations too, the voices of Guy Locke really brought so many feelings and emotions to this story and characters..
