This book was an enjoyable read, though I felt it was a bit light on the content. I did like that the author regularly cited his sources. There is sensible wisdom shared such as that hodling can be an opportunity cost and that the most important things are to let your profits run and cut your losses. The idea of selling after the long-term trend bends is also practical advice. I didn't learn as much from the book as in other trading books, but if you are new to trading, this would be a good place to start learning before getting into something a bit more in depth. Just make sure to put emphasis on what not to do, since those are the hardest areas to overcome.
Good book for beginners. Not good for advanced traders. More personal stories and recommendations than trading facts. Still a funny book and easy reading. Explain most of the mistakes that every newbie trader do and how to avoid them.
So...I’m just getting into the “crypto space,” but coming from a background in psychology, I can certainly say from that vantage point, this book is a “home run,” as the author makes no bones about it: if you don’t take time to know yourself, you’ll never get a successful grasp on the fundamentals of trading (crypto or otherwise).
Also, the author is accessible, as I reached out to him, only to be surprised by how quickly he returned my inquiry...perhaps due to the fact that he hasn’t reached star-status just yet(!).In any event, I’m excited to begin utilizing the wisdom within these pages, but before I do that- I’m going to reread the entire book (at least) one more time, just for kicks, as it’s not merely a dry book on the technicals of a complex subject matter, but actually quite funny at times. I’ll post an update to this review, once I’ve made my first million...
This is the one of the most entertaining and helpful financial books I've ever read.
The first part goes explains what cryptocurrencies are and the reasons why they were invented. This part also teaches the reader how to look after the digital tokens properly, especially if one is holding them in the medium to long term. The second part gives a detailed guide, but simple enough that anyone can understand, how to identify and execute many profitable trades as possible and when to sell. The final part talks about the aspects of behavioural finance in plain English.
The author also uses his personal experiences to aid why it is important to develop and follow a trading strategy and control one's own psychological weaknesses unless one likes to end up with no money.
I would recommend this book to anyone who's interested in the subject.
So I am already trading for a while and I started this book at one point and didn’t finish it.. after a a year or even more I found it on the shelve and thought to myself „no book should be on my shelve unfinished“ and I picked it up again.. to be honest I didn’t expect to read anything new because I already finished multiple trading books, did. courses, watched videos etc. .. but to my surprising the author still managed to show me a few little things that I didn’t know and I enjoyed it very much.. it just proved what I read and heard so many times before „be always a student of the market“
I can really recommend this book to everybody who wants to start trading and looks for an easy to read book with many examples
The book is really BASIC and I dont advices its purchase. It shares basic advices which can be found for free on Binance Academy. If you want to make it for real on crypto, it's not for you.
Not what I thought it was. I expected a lot more technical analysis but this was more of a "this is what happened to me" story with a few very basic past chart analysis pictures. You can get this info for free from a fast Google search.
If you are very new to trading or have never taken an economics course this may be a good starting point. He has some good advice, like don't HODL forever and make yourself poor but just wasn't what I was looking for.
I developed an interest in crypto last year and have been trading on and off since then. I thought this book will help me make better decisions and educate me some more about crypto markets etc. Sadly, it is a very basic book and may work for someone who knows nothing about crypto currencies and would like to get started. The tips are very generic, the language wearisome and the jokes mostly don't land. Maybe in a few years it will be funny (or useful) but right now it was a very ordinary read.
"A Crypto Trader" outlines everything a newcomer in Finance 3.0 world should know. It explains all the advantages and disadvantages of crypto. A growth - and huge volatility. A safety - and scam cases. A transparency - and rugs due to decentralization. To put it in a nutshell - must-have to read for everyone.
Just good enough for a crypto beginner. Quite an easy read, well balanced between trading and discipline aspect. Some chapters are already old however, even if the book was published in 2019, and I don't agree with his view on day trading. Again the discpline matters - putting an absolutely strict rule and running the trades in rigorous manner will generate steady income, in my opinion.
This book is an easy read. But it has more about stories than real trading, I was expecting much more about technical stuff, and not agree with some recommendations about short trades.
Great little read. Lots of useful wisdom and avoids getting too stuck in the weeds. I think the fact that it isn’t super complicated is its main benefit. A lot of the information is common sense. Certainly changed my mind in regards to efficient market hypothesis and trend trading
Very good practical and easy to read. At times complicated but that’s the subject matter I’m afraid. Some laugh out loud moments and I now feel equipped to enter the market being aware of all of the potential potholes and some techniques to help make the right decisions at the right time.
Great book very witty and to the point and great advice for the novice. Sent the author a question and he replied in detail and with kindness. Highly recommend
Very much enjoyed this book. It was quite informative and helped deepen my understanding of the charts. It's definitely a book that I will keep close by and return to it to help me along the way
Informative book. But writer seems like a bit of a douche sometimes? Also he talks a lot about his winnings during a previous huge bull market, but will this be of help during non-bull market times …
An interesting read, clear, concise, amusing at times. It gives the reader a basic understanding of what crypto is, and how the author made his £££. If you want to get into this space, this is worth a read.
Plethora of knowledge and strategies for short-term trading. Great entry into cryptocurrency for first timers (such as myself). Even touches on psychologial biases - great stuff
