Lawfully Secure

Rate this book
She thought she knew love. Until she met the man hired to protect her.
Paige Bancroft lives a charmed life-the daughter of a billionaire, beautiful and intelligent, about to marry the man of her dreams. Things are going according to plan, until her father unexpectedly summons her home and introduces her to Adam Wilder. He's irritatingly polite and far too serious, and she hates herself for noticing how handsome he is. Worse, he's the man her father has hired to protect her after a threat against their family.
After his years in the military, Adam Wilder never expected to work as a personal bodyguard for the heiress of the Croft athletics empire. Her sarcastic remarks and cold shoulder are easily overlooked, given the sudden inconvenience to her life, but when she's open and real with him, he feels a connection with her that he's never felt before.
The closer Paige's wedding gets, the closer they get to each other, and the more Adam realizes he would do anything to keep her secure. Will he uncover who's behind the threat before it's too late?

Lawfully secure was a really enjoyable contemporary romance, with a hint of suspense. At first, I was frustrated with Paige for being so resistant to having a bodyguard. However, once she had a better understanding of the possible threat that existed toward her, she worked to change her attitude toward Adam Wilder. I really liked her after that.

And I couldn’t help but like Adam. He was very good at his job, yet had some vulnerability from his past, too. I enjoyed watchig as Paige woke up to the fact that she was engaged to someone completely wrong for her and began to realize what a gem she had in Adam.

Lawfully Secure was a well written story that kept me intrigued from start to finish.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Good read

Paige is a spoiled young woman who starts the book with an attitude. She's a little on the elitist side (in fact, she doesn't change, so either her few moments of superiority were just for show or she wasn't all that stuck up to begin with).

Adam is ex-military and a police officer. He's given his first assignment as a bodyguard. And he falls for Paige (despite her attitude) pretty much immediately.

This was a sweet story, even if everything in it wasn't completely accurate.

This is the second book I've read from Ms. Noorman that had cheating. I'm not a fan of that theme.

Whoa, great little story!

It's a short story so not much time to develop much of anything story-related.
We get a little character development, but mostly just a light romance with a bit of action and suspense thrown in.

I was a fun read. I'm sorry I allowed it to languish in my TBR list for so long.

A great story for television series.

Adam and Paige had a great story and they were great characters. I hope they appear in a future book in this series. I hope they have a. horse and a dog! You will enjoy this story.

1 star & 1/10 hearts. This story just wasn’t for me. There was too much sexual content. Talk about being hot, about sexual innocence, about enjoying your wedding night, about women’s underclothes (and the bodyguard watching Paige unwrap her friends’ presents of lingerie was disgusting), detailed kissing/touching, seeing each other partly unclothed... nope, thanks. And really the plot was pretty predictable.
