The World of Loreston was Erick Brighton's favorite Video Game.
He'd become one of the top players and constantly stayed up all night, competing in tournaments and avoiding any real commitments besides feeding his two plants.
However, one night when he awoke, he was no longer in his house in front of his computer, but surrounded by Goblins, beautiful women, and enough supplies to build a tower from the ground to the moon.
Turning into a Lord, one of the individuals gifted with the ability to create structures, he starts out as a lowly serf as he attempts to climb the social structure from a small, powerless villager into the king of the world!
Warning: Contains harem elements, gore, and a ton of gamelit elements.
This was a fun and interesting book that just got on immediately with its story and characters. I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait to see what's next.
It needs heavy professional editing. The story seems unable to decide if it wants to be a sex romp (gratuitous and adds nothing) or a litrpg, and jerks between the two. Story continuity is a problem too, as the exposition goes “oh yeah this happened” and the reader is left questioning “when?! The character literally had no time?!” I read as I was bored. I will not continue in this series.
There were no high expectations of course, with a nom-de-plume comme "DragonTreasures" but it did provide some entertainment value. I'm not really sure how to rate this, but a 3 is probably (more than) fair.
I lost track of the spelling and grammar errors; the author said they planned on it being read in two hours, and at times I thought that was how long it took to write it too. It reads somewhat like somebody dictated it as a stream-of-consciousness and that would explain a lot of the grammar/spelling errors and the rather abrupt writing style.
I'll probably roll the dice on Vol 2 when it comes out (a small time investment, after all) and see if some of the rough edges are smoothed away, but this is not a serious book by any stretch of the imagination so take that into account.
This book was fun to read and was a quick read as well. It had a few errors where in the book but overall it was solid and read like a turn based RPG game. The MC is not very detailed yet but could be very interesting in time.
I like the mix of RPG and RTS, that is being introduced here. The characters are also amusing, especially Pepper with her innocence. Can’t wait for the next book.
The dynamic between the main character and the girls in the story is great! Far from an average Harem story, what it lacks in perfect editing, still not bad in my opinion, it makes up with amorous charm. Can't wait for the next one.
This is trash or a sick joke. Not Werth reading. I've only said this a few times but I can't stress this enough trash book. I've seen fast progression before but this is just.. Sigh. Just sigh. Download a trial before reading and you will see what I mean.
I know the blurb said "heavy game elements", but this is ridiculous. It reads like one of those cellphone civilization creation games. The dialogue is awful too.
I took this because it said he (the protagonist) had to build stuff. I didn't know it was building from preexisting templates. I will finish this book because it's really short, but I don't think I will continue with any sequels. Also from the dialogue, I will be very hesitant about taking a chance on the author's other books.
Well I'm done. I was right about it being a civilization builder with preexisting templates. The protagonist is also a "nice guy gentleman". He is classy to the ladies and an upstanding paragon of virtue.
There is an audio book version now it can be gotten here. https://www.audible.com/pd/B07VFK64YV... I enjoyed the fact that the game system reminded me of age of empires, a game which I play many hours of when I was in college!
This was a quick read, but the spelling and grammatical errors really detracted from the story line. There is definite potential here, but way too much reliance on continuous player statistics gained or lost. Not a typical harem adventure with oodles of sexual encounters, which was a nice change. Hopefully some serious proofreading will happen before the next book is released.
