Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Stories

Audio book narrated by Earl Hammond
"A collection featuring three classic horror stories, read by actor Earl Hammond: 'The Tell-Tale Hart', 'The Cask of Amontillado', and 'The Black Cat'."

I highly recommend listening to this version on Audible. Earl Hammond brought the stories to life that kept me captivated until the very end.

He never fails to impress me. Poe is truly one of the greats, and every word on this page sends shivers down my spine and makes my heart race like a fast car. I can't explain how genius this man is—except that he is.

Tell-Tale Heart is a legendary book i had to read for an assignment. I never re-read books, but this story was a must. It was pretty hilarious that the man was creeped out by the old man's eye referring it to the "Vulture's eye" but then the story soon started to really become creepy because the man decided to kill the old man just because if his eye. Planning the murder of the man step by step precisely, even though the old man didn't do Anything to the narrator, he still hated the old regardless. After the man killed the old man then chopped up his body into pieces, he hid the body parts in the floorboards. A neighbor reported to the police that they heard a scream, so the police came to the man's house asking questions. The man trying to play it off to the police a little too well invites them in, the police take a seat and start asking the man questions. This is when the man started going crazy, in the man's head he heard a heart beating. Soon after the man started driving himself trying to play off to the police as if everything is good. The officers started to catch on to what was going on with the man and started putting the dots together. Following this the man ended up giving himself away for murder and the police arrested the man. Moral of the story don't take things further than what it has to be. 1000/10 recommend to everyone, it's a nice book to have under your belt. Also, Tell-Tale Heart has an interesting play on words.

Edgars Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart: A Graphic Novelette Adaptation is a book I highly recommended because it is a book that has good dark poetry. Some of these poems in his books are about his loving wife and some can be haunting stories. So people who love dark and love poems I recommend this book.

So much happened in such little time, I loved it. I remember reading this quite a few years ago in school and remembering that this was the book/short story that truly got me into reading and English as a whole.

This is a prime example that it doesn't take many words to tell a great story. Simple and sweet which for Poe is quite often not the case. This story has a great underlined meaning and one we all should be reminded of, for our actions in this life can come back to haunt us.

I really enjoyed this short story. I loved the imagery as well as the symbolism within the story.
