The Haunting of Hadleigh Estate
An unsolved case in a small town that has gone too far.
A young couple moves into their dream home only to find a dark presence lurking from within. For Cassie and James, the small town of Playa del Sol seems too good to be true. But they soon experience terrifying supernatural encounters tied to the deadly secrets of an unsolved mass murder. Can they solve the mystery in time? Or will they face the same doomed fate as the tenants who came before them?
Skylar Finn grew up in a refinery town just outside of Houston, Texas. She has lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Colorado, and most recently Florida. She writes on the road on planes, trains, and buses. When she's not writing, she is out looking for the next adventure.
This set has two very different stories by separate authors. The first book is called Witches of the Woods. It is by Sklyar Finn and narrated by Ramona Master. It has a gal named Sam that goes to see her mom while on assignment, since it is in her home town. Her father had taken her from her mom at a young age, he thought her mom was untrustworthy. Her mom was keeping secrets, she is a witch and didn't want her strict husband to know. Sam has been having strange incidents in her life too. The story is pretty interesting and the narration fair. The second book is called The Haunting of Hadleigh Estate by Conner Donnelly and narrated by Gwendolyn Druyor. I enjoyed this one a bit more. It starts out quick, a murder, and just keeps going. The main character is a woman who is flawed but a good mother, wife, and loving niece. The uncle is the victim of the murder but the cops don't seem interested in finding a killer. The ghostly elements are not scary but caring and trying to help the family when they come to the estate. Their lives become in danger when they move in. Lots of suspense, mystery, who-done-it guessing on my part (I am rarely right), and good scary thrills of evil of the human kind kept me entranced! The narration was better than book one. Both books end with a high note so that is a big plus for me! I would give book one a 3.5 for the book and 3 stars for narration. Book two would get 4 stars each for book and narration. I received this book set from freeaudiblecodes.
Box sets are always a great bargain to me because they group together some fantastic reads in one place to make sure you aren’t missing anything, and you don’t have to wait for the next book in the series to “stay in the zone”! When the books are well-written, it’s a win-win situation for the reader! This set includes: “Witches of the Wood” and “The Haunting of Hadleigh Estate”. I especially enjoy cozies with a little bit of mystery to entice the reader into the pages! Although this one wasn’t the warm, fuzzy cozy most would expect, it did present a bit of dark mystery for the reader to tackle and a few shivers along the way.
Check this collection out and see if you can solve the mysteries inside!
I enjoyed my first book by Skylar Finn. Samantha is a witch who doesn't know she is a witch because her father took her away when she was small. When she gets to meet her mother and other family members, they let her know just how special she really is. A good storyline of good vs evil makes this very enjoyable to read.
The Haunting of the Hadleigh Estate is also a great 3-part tale about a man who was brutally murdered. He haunts the house that he has left to his niece Cassie in the hopes that Cassie will bring the murderer to justice. Throw in a false confession, kidnapping, and Uncle James' ghost there to help, and you get a great mystery story.

Excellent books - two (Witches of the Wood and The Haunting of Hadleigh Estate) are included in this boxed set and are extremely engrossing, well-written and with a fabulous plot to each story. I highly recommend this boxset.

This book was great, but I didn't give it 5 stars because there were parts were the author rehashed the background interfering with the flow of the action. It seemed like several chapters retold the background as if the reader would constantly need reminding. Otherwise it would have kept me on the edge of my chair.
The first book was a sort of mash-up: The Devil Wears Prada meets Charmed as envisioned by Hallmark Mystery Channel. It was good enough. The second book made me keep reading until I finished. Very exciting, well planned, satisfying ending. I'll look for more by Skylar Finn in the future.
This was a surprise, well written and easy to digest. Ghosts are an interesting subject to write about and fascinating. Thank you authors for the great find
Reads as though several very short stories got slapped together. Definitely needs editing but cute storyline with sympathetic characters kept me reading til the end.
i really liked these two books... The second one a little more.. I like the cute ghost stories, but the people seem a little silly.. These chatters. seemed more like real people.... I liked Cassie and Charlie. and Uncle James..... sweet.. Good reads
