About the author

Neapolitan artist and writer, she is one of the most complete and eclectic Italian creators in the international field. Her upcoming Mercy is going to be published almos simultaneously in Italy (November 2019, Panini Comics), France (January 2020, Éditions Glénat) and United States (March 2020, Image Comics).

Her ControNatura (Panini Comics) is one of the most successful Italian series of the last few years. Published in the USA by Image Comics under the title Unnatural/b> , it’s a best seller hit with several reprints already.
There are also Spanish, French, German, Polish, Mexican and (upcoming) Brazilian, Czech and Bulgarian editions.

Andolfo has been collaborating with DC Comics since 2015, having lent her pencil for titles such as Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Bombshells, Teen Titans, Green Arrow, R.W.B.Y. and Hex Wives (published under the cult-imprint Vertigo). Together with the writer Sylvain Runberg, she is creator of The Under York Chronicles (Éditions Glénat).

She also wrote stories for BOOM! Studios ( The Amazing World of Gumball ) and illustrated two issues of the award-winning Ms. Marvel series by Marvel Comics.

In 2012 she created Sacro/Profano (Edizioni Dentiblù), a huge bestseller published in United States, France, Netherlands, Germany, Serbia, Spain.
As an artist she’s drawn comics for Dynamite and Aspen, as well as some short stories for Vertigo and DC’s Young Animal, and she’s actually working on covers for DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Valiant, BOOM! Studios, Aspen, Zenescope.

As a colorist, she worked on covers and comics books of important franchises such as Geronimo Stilton, Adventure Time, Ice Age, Peanuts and other series and volumes published all over the world.

During her collaboration with Topolino magazine (Disney’s Mickey Mouse), she has colored numerous covers (including the cover of the historical issue 3000) and stories, working with artists like Giorgio Cavazzano, Corrado Mastantuono and Fabio Celoni.

When she is not working, she loves good food, reading comics and… sharing photos of cats and wolves on Facebook.

I picked up this volume literally as soon as I finished the first volume because it was so good. Unfortunately, this wasn't as good as the first one. The writing was a little bit on a clunky side. Some things became super predictable and a little to convenient for the plot. Nevertheless, I'm still interested in reading the 3rd volume and going ahead and finishing the series. I think that a lot of this series is an allegory for how society treats members that don't fit the "traditional mold/standards" of a relationship. This appears to be in terms of gender identity, race, and sexuality. I could simply be reading too much into the text; however, it really makes sense to look at some of the conversations in this comic in that manner. The fantastical elements that readers see in this first volume are explained a little further in this volume which was really cool. The art is still FANTASTIC and the ending is definitely a major cliff hanger.

Another gorgeous, fascinating volume, but I feel like there's just so much story left to be explained, and I'm being told there's only one more volume in the series? Whaaaaaat? I hope it's going to tie up a lot of things, but as this one stands, I thought it was really solid. There's so much tension and intrigue, and I'm enjoying the plot developments with Leslie and the Albino's spirit. You go, get your murder on, little pig ♥ 4.5 stars!

Sadly this volume doesn't live up to the last one.

With Unnatural volume 2 we get a lot more of the mystical side of things. Leslie has this old spirit creature living inside her. A very powerful one that can tear people's arms off and slaughter them within seconds. With that beast within and having the rest of her new team all working together to escape the clutches of the evil-doers who want to bring harm.

The series still has some intense scenes. People do die, and it's refreshing to see no one is really safe. I also enjoyed the art a lot as it's very colorful and well done. On the flipside the pacing seemed odd in this one, rushed, and then padding scenes made it feel slower. Was a odd mix.

Overall, good but not great. I hope the third volume picks back up. This is a 3 out of 5.

Ммм, нещо не ми харесва как се разви сюжетът. Имах други идеи в главата си с какво може да са свързани сънищата на Лесли и бяха в пъти по-интересни от действителността. Отделно, че Лесли доста почва да ме дразни с нейното постоянно плачене и ролята на жертва. И не разбирам защо на почти всяка рисунка трябва да е полугола. Илюстраторът ще умре ли, ако й сложи дрехи неин размер и бюстът й не прелива от страниците. Просто тууу мъч ми идва, way too much.
Ще прочета и последната част. Да видя дали ще се хвърли повече яснота върху това защо се гонят едни други, че не мога да ги хвана.
Вълчо (Хал) си е сексии, ама си го представях малко по-badass (губи ми се думата на български, затова ще ми простите този миш-маш🤣).

Leslie jest poszukiwana. Razem z Khalem i Sayą wyrusza do Tijoux aby odnaleźć szczątki Bes i zniszczyć Albinosa. Niestety Wzrok robi wszystko aby im przeszkodzić.
Jakie to było dobre. Robi się coraz ciekawiej, mroczniej i bardziej tajemniczo. Zwrot akcji na końcu był świetny i kompletnie mnie zaskoczył. Mam nadzieję, że 3 tom będzie jeszcze lepszy.

Ok I’m slightly salty this isn’t longer. Some scenes really needed some more panels, a little more depth to really make the scene pop. That doesn’t take away through that I like the storyline, I love the art and I’m intrigued to know what the hell ima coming next.

Mysteriózní furry soft-porn thriller pokračuje.
Tentokrát s menším důrazem na soft-porn část a s mnohem větším důrazem na mysteriózno. V tomhle díle se totiž dozvíme mnohem více o osudu, který spájí hlavní hrdinku a bílého vlka z prvního dílu, dostane se nám více informací o zákulisních machinacích celého světa a docela tu ubylo všemožných komentářů na to, jak je mezidruhové páření správné a nemělo by být zakazováno (ale nějaké tu pořád najdete, nebojte).
Musím říct, že se mi tady autorka trefila do toho, co jsem chtěl, protože je to právě linka o vyvolenosti hlavní hrdinky, která mě v první knize bavila a tady jsem dostal poctivou dávku navíc. Trochu na škodu je jistá předvídatelnost, kdy bez toho soft-porn obalu, který odváděl čtenářovu pozornost tady ještě víc vynikne, jak jednoduchý ten příběh vlastně je, ale mě v tuto chvíli bude bohatě stačit, když se to celé nějak důstojně uzavře, byť už teď se bojím, že tuším jak.
Kresebně je to naprosto stejné jako minulý díl. Byť pokud jste tuhle sérii četli hlavně kvůli svůdným prasečím křivkám, tak pořádnou dávku dostanete až v bonusových materiálech (které tu musí být, aby zakryly fakt, že je to další paperback jenom o 4 sešitech a celkově trend, který se mi líbí míň a míň).

Mohlo by se vám líbit, pokud:
- po prvním díle chcete víc informací o světě, kde se tenhle komiks odehrává a o jeho historii
- vám kombinace mysteriózně-romanticko-softporn thrilleru zní dobře

Spíš vás zklame, pokud:
- nechcete aby ve vás do budoucna pohled na vepřové nevyvolával úplně jiné chutě
- vás v prvním díle nezaujaly náznaky osudovosti a toho, jak je tohle všechno jenom opakováním příběhu z minulosti

I love the art style and colors in this series. It's so visually pleasing.
The story was very fast. I almost wish there had been more explanation for it. I had a little bit of a disconnect between Volume 1 and Volume 2, just kind of wondering what was happening. I wish I had been eased into it a little more. I'm excited to read Volume 3 and see how it all ends.

Mirka takes this adventure in a direction I wasn't quite predicting. Some of her decisions work for me and some don't. However, I feel the pros far outweigh the cons and a 3.5 still rounds up.

This story did start to feel extra personal. It wasn't until after finishing this that I even noticed that Mirka is the writer, illustrator, and colorist. It must be an important story to her.

At this point in the story it moved away from the diversity message (no inter-species relations allowed) to a supernatural, historic reason behind why the bad guys want Leslie. The art is still stunning, still FMA. (Closed my Hoopla reader app a couple times when coworkers came into the break room - LOL - and now they will all know what I was reading.) Still a little confused as to where this will go...

Well, I don't know about this one... We get more mystical stuff, more "evil government" thing but it kind of felt all over the place and sometimes I wasn't really sure what are the characters trying to achieve.

But Unnatural is still an entertaining and easy to read and I am looking forward to the final chapter.

While the world at large sees Leslie as responsible for her friends' deaths, she finds herself in a bunker. Khal the white wolf claims they are safe there. Besides having blue blood, the two are part of a prophecy and can somehow bring about the end of an entity called the Albino who is now inside Leslie. It can manifest great strength through her, but she mustn't let it take full control of her body.

The organization Jones is a part of is named the Glance. It's still looking for Leslie to acquire the Albino's power for themselves. Their assault on the bunker sends Khal, Leslie and Saya into hiding. The latter betrays Khal, leading Jones catching up to them in Tijoux. Leslie hoped to defeat the Albino, but now the only way to proceed is to let it take control and beat Jones into the ground. Their opponent now is the Glance leader who turns out to be Leslie's mother.

Not as good as the first volume.

Les is losing her body to a Wolf that is trying to possess her. Fortunately, now she has a new group of friends (the others died) that want to help her, but will that be enough?

Although, I enjoyed volume 1, and the animalistic world the writers created, I felt confused this time around. Were we trying to fight a revolution of all animals (not just same race) being allowed the freedom to express their love or possessions or hidden identities or... What exactly was I rooting for here? The more the story unfolded, the more complicating it got.

Well, this got better, thanks to focusing on the mysterious powers, cults and so on. And also Leslie, or how the main girl pig is named, is less annoying thanks to the plentiful of other characters getting some space. Some of them, yes, are also annoying. But it works for the story better than the "main female pig".
It was a good enough ad unfortunately short enough to swing me right into the next, final, volume.

Ich habe die Sonderedition auf der LBM 2018 gekauft und beim warten auf die Autogrammstunde mit Mirka Andolfo angefangen zu lesen. Die Geschichte geht spannend weiter und ich fand es sehr gut, wie die Waage gehalten worden ist, zwischen Charakterentwicklung, Antworten finden und neue Fragen aufwerfen. Ich bin gespannt auf den nächsten Band, denn das Ende vom zweiten ist richtig gemein >-<

I really love the premise of this series, and the allegory it tells about intolerance of interracial (inter-species in this book) and same-sex relationships. It's fast paced and full of action. I love Mirka's beautiful artwork and use of color. Such a cool story.

Questo secondo volume mi ha un po' confusa. Non sono spiegate benissimo le dinamiche di ciò che sta accadendo, compresa la questione del passato e della linea di sangue dei protagonisti che li hanno portati a vivere questa avventura. In oltre trovo che tra i due sia nato qualcosa troppo all'improvviso, senza alcun segnale iniziale e questa mi è sembrata una scelta frettolosa solo per mettere una componente sentimentale. Spero che il terzo volume faccia riprendere il tutto.
