"Taking Meghan" is the story of Meghan and Gabriel.

This was another great addition to the Disciples series!

Our H has just got out of prison, after taking the blame for Lucifer's action, and granted pardon. He is utterly lost in this new world, so much so that he has to learn what a smart phone is, but that doesn't stop him from being loyal to his Disciple family. When Russians start causing mayhem while facilitating child and women trafficking, he decides to take them on.. bursting in on the vile mastermind Alexei Rastov's marriage ceremony and kidnapping his bride!

Meghan is shocked when her father sells her to Alexei to merge the Irish and Russian mob, and is scared to death of marrying the ruthless pervert Alexei. Drugged into submission, her life changes when Gabriel kidnaps, and weds her instead.

Soon Meghan learns the importance of loyalty and family, while falling in love with her brooding and sexy husband, and though she has many plans, the choices to fulfill them might never be hers..

HOT, well written, angst filled read with likable h and H, loads of updates on our previous characters, action, drama and an ambiguous ending.
I wish we had spent more time with the MC than with what was happening around them- but still an engaging read never the less!

Next one in the series!!! This one was lots of action and steamy and pretty entertaining to me.

Gabriel is finally out of prison after doing 10 years he took the fall for Lucifer, now he is back in the game ready for the next mission. And its a doozy, they are crashing the big bad Russian who caused trouble for family. Wedding crashed people killed and Gabriel gets a gun pointed at him by the bride. Meghan didnt wanna be part of this didnt wanna get married she was forced and drugged and heartbroken her father would do this, didnt matter now shes married to another guy who is sorta saving her. Better this devil then the other. Now the sexual playful tension between Gabriel and Meghan was fun. Also i believe she was the only girl who had more freedom in the series. 🤣🤣

Fucked up part was when Meghan overheard the bad guy tell the doctor they had taken out her IUD when she was unconscious (before the wedding) that gross and so wrong.

Idk if this is the last one in this series? Or if James is getting a story?

Low agnst, no ow drama slight om drama, drama, secondary charas, no cheating, sexy times, no virgins

Recommend- yes

Content warning:

Dislikes:

We never found out what happened to the evil doctor at the end. I’m not a fan of unanswered questions.

Likes:

Gabriel. If you like possessive heroes, you’ll love him. He’s funny, violent and masochistic. He’s a tough guy, but he has his sweet and tender moments, like when Meghan had a headache. He loves gore to a disturbing extent, but we’re going to overlook that little tidbit because everyone has their faults 🙃. This was one of my favorite quotes from him:
“For richer and richer.”
“I don’t think that’s how it—”
He presses his thumb against my lips.
“Shush. Be quiet while I prove my utter devotion.”

Meghan. A certified baddie. She's so brave, strong and defiant. She's also very reckless, which in some cases annoys me, but in this case, I had fun with it 🤷 it made the story more entertaining. Also, she has surprisingly good morals considering she’s in the mafia world.

Gabriel & Meghan’s entertaining banter.
“Put your seatbelt on.” I refuse to at first in stubborn defiance. “Suit yourself.” He takes a very sharp, very unnecessary turn to the left that pushes me into the door. When the car finally straightens, I hastily do up my seatbelt. Eyes sliding toward me, he grins and says, “Good girl.”
“Fuck you.”
“Maybe later . . . if you promise not to cut my dick off . . .”
“Did I say cut off? I meant bite off.”
“I don’t know what kind of pussies you were with before you married me, but I like a little teeth. For future reference.”

The heroine had a somewhat realistic reaction when she found out that her lover kills people. In mafia books, the sheltered women usually don’t react when their significant other kills, tortures, maims, etc. I never liked that because most people would react and the fact that these characters are brushing it off like it’s nothing is unrealistic. Take, The Darkest Temptation by Danielle Lori, for example. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the book, but Mila was hardly bothered by the fact that her crush was a ruthless, murderous and vengeful kidnapper despite having very good morals herself. Meghan was not so calm about the situation.

The soft scenes between Gabriel and Meghan. There’s something special about a man who thrives on torturing people comforting the woman he loves.
I started trembling as the reality of what happened yesterday washes over me. So much has happened to me since the wedding that I haven’t really had time to think about it. To process it. Scowling, Gabriel drops his hands from my cheeks and reaches down, gathering me up in his arms and pulling me close. I stiffen at first, not wanting his comfort, but I’m so cold all of a sudden, and he’s so warm. I’m drowning . . . sinking . . . and the only thing I can grab onto is the fucking shark in the bloody waters. His hands travel over me, tender, soothing.

Alexei was a genuinely terrifying villain. Let’s go over his resume, shall we? He trafficked women and children. He had no problem raping minors. The unpredictable villains are great for readers because they’re interesting and engaging.

James. The man is violent, wild and hilarious. He’s even funnier than Gabriel, which is really saying something. The other characters were great too, but his sense of humor made him stand out to me.

Recommendation: The Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori. I found multiple similarities between the two that lead me to believe someone who liked this will also enjoy TSO. They’re both dark, mafia companion novels told in dual perspectives featuring a possessive alpha hero and the forced marriage trope. Happy reading! :)

So much happens in this story! Gabriel and Meghan have great dialogue with each other. There are some pretty explicit and violent scenes. I loved Gabriel, I thought he and Meghan were perfect for each other. I think this my favorite Disciples story.

Wow, this series gets better and better with each new edition to the Disciples series! Gabriel and Meghan's story reveals many secrets to the disciples' origin as well as the war between the rivals in Garden City and Bethlehem.

Thirty-one year old hero, Gabriel has just been released from prison after 10 years for protecting his boss, Lucifer (Matthew). A lot has changed in those 10 years and on the inside of those prison's wall, Gab has gotten darker and colder. On the outside, Gabriel still hurting for the delay of being released but as he welcomed back into the group, he still knows how to kill and beat the hell out of his enemies but he's clueless about how to use a simple cell phone... so funny! With most of the disciples married now ... well Gabriel can't see that in his life until he meets Meghan and haphazardly commits them to a marriage of convenience for his protection after his crew storms into her forced wedding with perverted mobster, Alexei!

This was another fast-paced dark story but please let the funny and cocky James meet his match soon... he deserves a woman like all the other brothers.

Murder and Mayhem! That pretty much sums up Gabriel's story. Then Meghan came and we have some steamy moments! I really enjoyed their story. The authors have a thing for biblical names, the protagonist is named Gabriel after all and the story takes place between Bethlehem and Garden City.
Overall a dark read with lots of torture and violence!

My least favourite of the series thus far - probably because Gabriel's introduction to the world felt so rushed.

While I liked this story and the continued story arc, and I enjoyed seeing the characters from pervious books, I don’t feel it measured up to the previous ones. I liked Gabriel just fine, but Meghan was annoying and grated on my nerves. I was tired of reading about her by the end of the story because she was so wishy-washy in her behavior, as well as having a couple of TSTL moments. But I find this whole series engrossing, enjoy the alpha males, and like the writing style of this duo, so it still deserves a quality rating in my opinion.

Second favorite book of the series!

I loved Gabriel’s book! He’s a close second to Simon - something about the Whitmore men 🥵🥵 Forced marriage between Gabriel and Meghan, no OW drama, fast paced, and James was hilarious as always 😂

Meghan has been forced to leave college and return home by her father who intends to marry her off to Russian mob boss, Alexei. Whether she likes it or not. She doesn't like it and resists so much that she has to be drugged and forced down the aisle. Gabriel has been in jail for 10 years after taking the blame for Lucifer, who let him out to cause mayhem. Which he does at Meghan's intended wedding, killing a bunch of Alexei's men and taking Meghan for his own.

One thing I love about IS books is that they always go fast and there's not a lot of dragging. I dug Gabriel and found him so funny. I loved the scenes when he's struggling to acclimate to modern living. I wanted more scenes with him working through it instead of him thinking Meghan was the cure. Feel like Lucifer should've had someone give the poor man a tutorial on how to use his smart phone. But Meghan was more than willing to help him though. Almost died at the 'new phone, who dis' scene. Meghan was definitely the toughest FMC so far in the series and I understood her struggle with Gabriel's work and the lives it would cost. She had one TSTL moment that was ridiculous but she recovered and I didn't mind her by the end. I'm not sure why but Simon got on my nerves with how he treated his brother. Still shocked to discover who their father was. I think James' book is next but I'm hesitating cause I have beef with the heroine in another book.

I love these guys/heroes!! Crazy, OTT, touch her you die☠️ Gabriel has been in prison for 10 years for something he didn’t do…Lucifer promised him he’d get him out, but 10 years😳He is ready to get back to his crazy ways *cough* murder *cough* he has 10 years to make up for. His first mission brings him to meet our heroine…I love how he sees Meghan and immediately makes her his! Sure she was being forced to marry a bad man, but Gabriel stops it but wastes no time taking his place! No ow drama🙌🏻 I mean the man has been celibate for 10 freakin years

First of all Gabriel is my favorite character. This book might be my favorite of the series as well.
Meghan was strong and fierce. She wasn't weak or a pushover as most of the heroines were in this series.

Wow! This story is one hot, wild ride!! Gabriel has been in prison for ten years and was just pardoned. The mafia is nifty that way. He’s one huge guy who has a vendetta. Meghan is the only daughter of the head of the Irish mafia. She’s being forced to marry Alexei. He’s one evil Russian asshole. Luckily, Gabriel breaks up the wedding and steals Meghan... for his wife! These two are quite the pair! She loves him. She hates him. It was very much like the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith!! Gabriel and Meghan have scorching chemistry and that makes for a very hot romance. Taking Meghan had lots of great action and steamy sex. Any lover of Dark Romance should read this story! 4 stars ⭐️

Bedlam and Mayhem

I knew from the last book that Gabriel was going to be a force to reckon with. He is a hothead, lethal, and completely alpha. He was recently released from a ten year prison sentence for handling business for the family. He fits in with Lucifer's band of misfits perfectly. He meets Meghan on her wedding day and she's not a willing participant. Things get crazy and the real fun begins. This is a fast paced instalove mafia romance and I couldn't put it down. I loved Gabriel and Meghan and it was nice to see some of my favorite characters from the other books. Great series

This book could have been better. There was too much time wasted on all the heroes from the previous books and not enough on the H and h of this book. The h was another problem for me. Upon meeting the H she is snarky and giving attitude instead of freaking out. Plus, she tries to kill the H and ends up sleeping with him. What the hell is going on? She also had her TSTL moments. I liked her less and less as the story progressed. The authors really dropped the ball on this one.

Great and exciting read!

A great story that hooked me from the beginning, I do wish though that the heroines put up a little more fight!! Overall though a fab book in the series, lots of actions, a desperate villain and some funny moments with some side characters and lastly some great steamy scenes! Will definitely be reading more in the series!!

Gabriel and Meghan are the stars in this brand new release by Izzy Sweet and Sean Moriarty. This is a dark romance just so you all have been warned, if you need a trigger warning this book probably isn’t for you, but if not happy reading! Gabriel (Simon’s brother) has been incarcerated for the past 10 years and understandably a lot has changed in that time and he’s currently out and just trying to readjust to life free from bars. Then there’s Meghan she unfortunately has mostly become a pawn in her fathers game, and is being forced to marry Alexi Rastov.

Gabriel and the rest of the Disciples have heard through the grapevine about this wedding and decide to attend. Gabriel pretty much takes one look at Meghan and is determined to marry her himself before they leave the church. Chaos ensues as it usually does, and before Meghan truly is able to grasp what has happened she’s being saved last second from having to marry Alexi and is now under the protection of Gabriel and the rest of the Disciples.

Meghan having never met Gabriel or any of his men before thinks she has gone from one bad situation straight into another. Over the next several day a lot changes in both of their worlds, and since I don’t want to give too much away you’ll just have to pick it up and read it to find out for yourself. I will say it’s full of lots of funny moments, plenty steamy ones and maybe a few that are slightly disturbing and while that may not sound like a good thing, if you’ve read any of the other books from this series you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. All of these men are crass, demanding, ruthless and make no apologies for it.

I absolutely loved it and if you’ve read this series and loved it in the past, you’ll love Taking Meghan. If you haven’t read anything from this series before I highly recommend you start at the very beginning with Keeping Lily. These books can be read as standalone but they’re so much better if you read them as a series!

Taking Meghan was a wild one, and I loved it. It was so full of dialog and banter!! Which I'm a total sucker for🖤 The book starts off with a serious bang in more ways than one and it never let's up. This is a fast paced, murder, Mayhem, Steam with lots of thumbs being cut off👍 🤣🤣🤣 the dark humor in this book was delicious and I lived for Gabriel!! After being locked up for 10 years and having to face a brand new world, it was hilarious watching him struggle with a smart phone and Bluetooth ✌🤣 Meghan and Gabriel were the perfect pair, and I had to order the paperback so I can reread their story anytime I want 😍❤ trust me just jump into this one!! It didn't even matter that this was book 5 and I started it first lol. It made me want to read the whole series now!! So off I go 🚶

3.5 stars… I loved the rapport and possessiveness of Gabriel. I also loved how strong and bold Meghan was! I can’t stand a weak protagonist and she was anything but that. I’ve never read any of the other books in this series so I was going in blind… it was still a great action packed read!

“I was dead in prison, I can’t deny that to myself. I was dead and mentally ready for the end. I’ve questioned how much longer I would have been able to hold out before I attacked the guards so badly they would have had no choice but to end my life sentence. I wouldn’t have killed myself directly, nah, that shits for the birds. No, I would have gone down doing what I do best. Causing destruction.” Gabriel the hellhound.

Let me just take a moment to savor this story. By far, one of the best dark reads I’ve ever had (and I think I’ve read a lot).

This book is unapologetic, crass, gritty, violent, action-packed, gory and at its core is a man who had a second chance in life and love and he’s not going to allow anything to come in between his redemption of the life he envisioned with the h.

The banter and insanely funny dialogues made me chuckle loudly too many times.

If dark reads with a twist of dark humor is your jam- Read it. You will not be let down. Not for the faint of heart though (see above)

20 stars ⭐️ for 2020!

Amazing and worth the wait!!!

It feels like I've been waiting years for the next book in this installment so I was super excited to read it for the first time! This was hot, sexy, dangerous and action pact that I wouldn't expect less from 1 series like this.

I also like Gabriel a LOT better then the certain main males in the other books because (yeah Gabriel was controlling and etc) but he had a playful humor whenever he was around his girl + the dedication and love a'd honestly between the two was amazing to watch. I also like how the main protagonist female wasn't a push over like in the others books cause I like STRONG females. And especially in a alpha male series like that I like it when they fight back / question their man. So this is what made it a favourite for me 😊.

Not to mention the sex scenes were ON FIRE! that it will leave you breathless lol. Everything about it is great and you should read!

Gabriel and Meghan ❤️

I really enjoy this series! You have to like instant love , possessive and jealous men who literally steal women and fall in love instantly. They refuse to let them go...... ever. It’s kind of ridiculous but totally okay in my fictional book world . This one is about Gabriel who has served a 10 year prison sentence for Lucifer . When he gets out they shoot up a wedding of a Russia mobster who literally sells women and children into sex slavery. Meghan is forced to marry the Russian monster but She May find a way out . This was action packed and par for the course in this series .
