Sarah wünscht all ihren LeserInnen viel Vergnügen und sinnliche Stunden!
Why do I do this to myself? I started this and. Ew the entire plot line and writing was moronic... it should have been a DNF. I mean good lord, they had about 5 separate Conversations where the subject of her eating turkey off of his penis is mentioned. But I skimmed around and finished. Completely dumb. It’s finally revealed that he had fallen in love and lost his wife and child once before. So that’s the big mystery on why he wouldn’t let himself get close to the heroine. Of course just like most books with the dead wife trope, the author doesn’t bother to have the hero do anything to show that the heroine is anything special or that he loves and values her more that or at least equal to the previous relationship. I don’t think he ever officially said “I love you”. Just weird all around and it would have been nice to have a warning about the widower trope. I can’t stand that type of book and I avoid them for this exact reason. Authors rarely do it right.
Sarah J. Brooks is a new-to-me author. First let me start off by saying I adored her writing style! The words and plot flowed flawlessly, there were very little grammar/editing mistakes, and there was just enough detail and development without being too much or too little.
THAT ALONE gave this book 2 owls from me. And THAT ALONE is why I am willing to give Ms. Brooks another go as an author because I did appreciate her storytelling. On a side note, the link in Goodreads is a different title than on Amazon. I’m not fond of that.
I didn't like either of the MCs. Alec was creepy AF and Kylie was a doormat. Alec literally manipulated her to have sex in the beginning and then Kylie would moan and groan about everyone bossing her around but then she did NOTHING to stop it.
No relationship development. Borderline erotica (which isn't a problem except this is supposed to be an enemies-to-lovers ROMANCE). Unnecessary health problem drama at the end....Ugh, just no.
A well written book about love and hate! Kylie wants a quiet night so goes to a bar on her own, only to have her two best friends phone her and tell her they are on their way! The only problem is, she told the, she was on a date, so what does any normal person do, she asks a man sitting alone to pretend to be her date! And he agrees, afterall, he knows who she is! Alec is a ruthless Billionaire and when he finds out that Kylie is pregnant with his child, he makes her move in with him, he wants her and the baby, for now! Slowly, and unbeknownst to each other they start having feelings for the one another, but as always there are complications when it comes to love. Can beauty and the beast form a life together or is he about to lose everything .
A well written erotic romance story that is unique and a bit on the dark side with wonderful characters, undeniable chemistry, witty banter, and so much more.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Normally I like this author. However, this book didn't work for me. Kylie meets Alec at a bar. she has him pretend to be her boyfriend. They go home together that night. They have a complicated relationship. Thankfully in the end everything works out and they get their happy ending.
Surprising because I did not expect this characters At first, I wasn't sure I liked Kylie, because her world revolves around her fake image and relationships for marketing. But finally the way she meets Alec, a very wealthy man, and the evolution of their torrid affair, the way they discover each other because they are full of preconceived ideas about each other at first, then the way they unfold the ball of their lives to understand each other, all this makes their story addictive, intense and captivating, like its characters who seemed simple at first. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

Kylie Morgan is a beautiful woman; But her image is fabricated by the industry she works in, her agency makes her out to this carefree playgirl who sleeps around for fun; Jumping from relationship to relationship going out partying etc.. it's all part of the image for her modelling career, and it's doing well for her. Making her one of the highest paid models.
On Valentines Day she tries to escape from the image, just have a quite drink on her own, what she doesn't expect is for her best friends and room mates to demand where she is, so she fabricates a story saying she's out with someone... but it backfires when they say they're going to come and meet this man. In her panic she turns to the man sitting next to her at the bar...
Enter Alec Blair... Billionaire playboy. Will he play along and be her pretend date for her friends? A pretend date... thats all it was meant to be, but it turned into a night neither can forget. In the morning Kylie leaves Alec's penthouse.... It's easier that way she thinks.... But is it?
Alec can't get her out of his mind, and she's everywhere, he keeps track of her from afar. When their paths cross again it's publicly... the night doesn't end the way Alec thinks it will. Now he knows she's pregnant with his baby... this changes everything. He's going to make this work for them... Billionaire and the model... in love with a baby on the way.... It's all going to be in the plan... but the best laid plans don't always work the way we want them to.
The more time they spend together the relationship sifts... is it still just a PR stunt? or is it real?
This story was ok... Nothing stood out for me to be honest. - Even now a few weeks after reading it I'm sitting down to write this review and I actually can't remember much of it. I had to skim through my book marks.
First read from this author and there were parts that were great, but most of it fell flat for me. I love the alpha-male type books. I also love fake relationships that turn real. But I felt that this story just didn’t hit the mark for me.
There were many parts that just were unrealistic. And some parts that I was just like….REALLY? The middle got a little boring and I just skimmed through. I almost didn’t finish as I really didn’t care too much about the characters. I did force myself to finish though. The story did end in a HEA, but at that point I think it was rushed.
A deep emotional story that will make you feel better about baggage & perfection - love & happiness is a present we all deserve!
The story is independent model Kylie who is famous but held to her roots and made family. Few are lucky enough to see the real her. Multi Billionaire Bachelor Alec has shut out the world to stay control, because when you have lost it all - no one wants to return to that! This is an intense story - almost 50 shades... to fake role as happy family. During the time the let walls down and fall in love. V2,S2.5 More reviews @my2centsbooklover Thank you!
Fake by author Sarah J. Brooks. Absolutely wonderfully brilliant. The soul of this book is utterly glorious. Fake, will leave you breathless and wanting. There are moments in this story that will break your heart with the “realness” of life for certain individuals. And the courage it takes to weather such obstacles. Even with all that it’s seriously “sexy” intense! The title of this book might be labeled Fake - yet there is nothing “fake” about its heart and soul. Sarah, you are truly gifted- thank you! Enjoy!!
A steamy no holds barred read. Both Alec and Kylie are living a public life that has nothing to do with reality. When their paths collide it changes their lives forever. There is a lot of emotional upheaval as they both struggle to let go of the pass and embrace the future. The characters are raw and out there as they express themselves and seek to find common ground. There are issues discussed that may be triggers for some readers or offend others but I believe it has all been done in a way that will allow most to enjoy the story for what it is, a very fun work of fiction.
Kyle is desperate to make her friends think she’s in a relationship on Valentine’s Day so she goes to ask they first guy she sees at a bar if he will pretend to be her boyfriend. Little does she know it’s Alec Blair a billionaire just as well known as she is. Will they continue with their Fake relationship or will it turn into something real? I really enjoyed this page turner an would highly recommended you grab it today to find out how their relationship unfolds!
I received an arc in exchange for my honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh wow, it all started off so innocently but pretending to be a strangers boyfriend is something new for billionaire Alec. Model Kylie didn’t mean to tell a fib or white lie but she needed to say something to her good friends. Problem is, when does a fake relationship become real. A very heartwarming and heartbreaking story that will knock your socks off. Two people with certain secrets and playing fake for the media. When do they get to be real with each other is the question. A brilliant story I just loved.
Kylie and Alex met in a bar, she was a model, he was a alpha man, not a card in the world! She needed some to get her friends to not to worry about her and leave her alone for the night. She went home to his home. It all started from there Kylie was a lonely woman, she had n family except her girl friends! It was a complicated and he only wanted a one sided affair!! Must read to find out what happens next! A delish sexual story! ENJOY!!
This starts out smoking hot! I really loved getting to know the private, real side of Alec and Kylie. They have a connection but have a lot to deal with as the story progresses. They both have darkness and sadness in their pasts. I enjoyed the story, the world that they built and am hoping to get to dig into Kylie’s friends later. A spicy, touching read.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
When you live in the spotlight, nothing is usually as it seems or portrayed. Kylie and Alec are similar in many ways, she’s sexy, smart and sweet, Alex, he’s sexy, swoon worthy with a touch of a bad boy side to him. I enjoyed the banter between them and they are explosive together. Kylie had no idea the favor she asked Alec that night that something fake would turn into something more. One just never knows. Great read, no spoilers, I received a copy of this book.
Fake By Sarah J. Brooks Main Characters: Kyle and Alec I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 5 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this book. Is their relationship fake or real? Kylie is a model and Alec is a billionaire. They meet in a bar where Kylie needs a pretend boyfriend. This was an emotional up and down romance. I love Sarah's books and recommend this one
I wouldn't call this enemies to lovers honestly. But the book was soooooo good.
Met on Valentines Day when she asked Alec to be her fake boyfriend....Alec recognizes her and she recognizes him as the billionaire playboy. But Alec wants more from her and they agree to 1 night...except after that night he wants more and unknowingly leaves them a connection....now he needs to convince her he wants her...forever
This book just wanted me to keep on reading to find out what was going to happen. Is everything really fake or do they have real feelings that they are just not letting themselves feel because they have been hurt before. Love the storyline and the ending. It had me on my knees praying for the best at one point. This is a must read story
I loved this story! It grabbed me from the start and I couldn’t stop reading! Kylie and Alex were great for each other and their chemistry was amazing! It was an entertaining combination of emotions, drama, romance, heat and humor. What started out as fake became much more! I highly recommend this book to everyone!
What a great story. Alec. I’m single and that is the way I want it. I have no desire to be in love. Been there, done that. Never going to happen again. Right? Kylie. I’m a model. Everyone sees what my team wants them to see. No one knows the real me. Can anyone find the real me? I am voluntarily leaving an honest review for this ARC.
Not my favorite of the series and overall an ok romance read. I enjoyed the initial meeting for Kylie and Alec’s story, it was cute and had potential to be more. I enjoyed watching them fall for each other and finding their HEA after all the drama and a fake relationship that becomes more.
This was a fun read and I liked it. Kylie and Alex were great characters that had amazing chemistry. The story held my attention with an entertaining combination of emotional turmoil, drama, romance, heat and glints of humor. Quite enjoyable. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
WOW absolutely great Alec was just amazing, glad he let his true self out. Kylie was also good but running away never solves issues. Great story just fell in love and could not put the book down
I received a free copy of this book via Sara J Brooks and am voluntarily leaving a review
The start and the middle of the story was really good, but the end... it blow me away. The scene when Alec sat in the chair with his phone and Kylie lay in the bed...it was awful and wonderful at the same time. I loved this story and characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Kylie and Alex's story is whimsical and poignant. Two souls who needed each other to be whole. I couldn't put it down once I started reading... Another great story from one of my favorite authors!! Thanks Sarah!
This was a good story. He was happy to play along with her request but couldn't quite deny the attraction he had for her. I really loved the supporting characters. Her friends were fiercely loyal and supportive.
Great story up until the last several chapters. It felt as though the author got rushed into finishing the story and kept jumping ahead weeks and months at a time suddenly instead of letting the story naturally progress. Hope the next books are better.
Very sweet romance. This is a story about how 2 people only show the world what they want them to see. Then when the two open up to each other it’s beautiful. I loved the hero’s growth in this book. Steamy scenes were nice and plot moved well.
