When you're psychic, being a good friend is dangerous to your health. Especially when your best friend is framed for murder. I'm planning a legendary celebration party. After working my tail off the last seven years, I graduate law school this weekend.
My entire family is coming to cheer my triumphant march across the stage to accept the prize of my labor.
My best friend Martin becomes frantic when his girlfriend Penny doesn't answer his texts. She isn't ignoring him. Someone murdered her.
Martin is shattered. Before I can help him deal with his agonizing loss, the police handcuff him and whisk him off to jail.
Talk about a buzz kill! To exonerate Martin, I need a confession from the real killer. Our graduation ceremony is only hours away, and if there's a time to be courageous and dare to use my paranormal 'Gifts,' it's now.
I devise a covert mission to trap the murderer and convince my brothers to help. They both believe my plan too risky. But I'm convinced I've left nothing to chance.
If that's true, why do I have this gnawing fear in my gut?

I learned early it's not acceptable for me to talk about the weird things I see at night or the whispering voices in my room. They told me there's no such thing as ghosts. Dead folks don't hang out in little boy's bedrooms, and I have an overly active imagination.
They were right about the imagination.
Later, I discovered that while talking about "such nonsense" is taboo, writing stories about paranormal events is acceptable. I've been hooked ever since.
You may find the female characters in my books to be ridiculously smart, tough, resourceful, and occasionally a hot mess. This is not only because I find this style of protagonist intriguing. Writers write what they know. Where I come from, most women fit into this category.
April May Snow, the protagonist in the prequel series The Gifts Awaken and the full-length novel series Foolish, is a young woman who personifies a strong woman. She just doesn't know it yet.
The April May Snow books are a paranormal women's fiction series. They are not a midlife series. Considering the multitude of dangerous situations April finds herself in, they might be past her midlife. Let's hope not. I've come to love her and hope you will, too.
To round out my Bio, I was born in San Diego and raised in Birmingham. I like to think I keep a California surfer's attitude toward life most days while conversing in a heavy Southern drawl.
I now live a few miles outside of Nashville. Since I can't play the guitar, which is a genuine impediment to being a successful country music singer, I continue to write books, which I enjoy immensely. I hope you'll receive as much joy from reading one of my books as I get from bringing it to life.
Another read story but still haven't gotten a clear picture of our heroine. Yes she's bright, loyal and psychic but nothing else. Graduation should be a time of joy but when her BFF gets arrested for the murder of his girlfriend and she's looked on as an accessory things go from bad to worse. Her family is coming down for the ceremony but a psychic episode outside the police station leave her having a nightmare dream. A dream of two young women being killed and the face of the killer. Is it a dream or a fact? Can she and her two brothers do anything about it? A fight for her life. Will she and her BFF make it to the ceremony?
I love the brave, caring but slightly sarcastic character of April Snow. This is the third April May Snow book in the series that I’ve read back-to-back, never mind my book allowance. They are fun but suspenseful. This is my favorite book in the series so far, but I already have the next book in the series to read. They just keep getting better, even though the first book was very good. I like the paranormal aspect, especially in this book. And April’s family members are coming into the picture, giving the book a friendly feeling. The editor didn’t catch a few words that were typed together, but that didn’t take away from the story. It was very well written. I recommend this book.
Graduation day for April Snow from the University of Alabama. She just finished her J. D. degree and will be studying for the bar exam. She will be an attorney and hoping to practice law. She helped put a professor behind bars who neglected to register as a sex offender when he moved to Alabama from Arkansas. After the death of two co-eds, April remembered a uncomfortable encounter with the professor. This book was not as interesting as the full length novel, but for a novella,it was short and good.
Who knew you could be so "edge of your seat" with a short book? And really this didn't have the feel of a novella, in my opinion. Great writing and character building, and I really like the main character, April May Snow! I'll be heading on to the next in the series, right now! I hope you all enjoy this series as much as I am!!
I hate to give a 2 stars. The story is good. Just painful to read so slow. The books are small story great. If you skip to last 20 pages. The story should grab you. Again story outline is good. First 35 40 pages so much fluf. I hate it the story could be really good
Especially if she has some extra gifts to go along with her grit and determination. If you're her friend, she will go to unbelievable lengths to help her friend out. She also wants to nail the bad guy, despite the danger!
I’m enjoying this prequel series of novellas to the main April May Snow series. In this one it is graduation at last after 7 years of University, but then her best friend is accused of a murder that April is convinced he didn’t commit.
Love these books. I live in Birmingham and enjoy all the places that are mentioned. Grab one of this and enjoy like sweet tea on a summers day and Roll Tide!
