I thought this was a very informative book and didn't try to hide that bad things can happen to soldiers even though it was shelved in the young readers section of my library.

Very easy to read and interesting information.

This book is a special book for those guys who enjoy watching, reading and to especially the world of the war. In this book, the reader can study and read about some Wars which happened such as World War I & II, Vietnam, etc. In this book, it shows how the troops get ready for stuff, it shows weapons, battles, how they plan, etc.
The theme is what I thought. When I saw it saying in front of the book "Soldier", I automatically thought about the world of soldiers and wars. It is important to show how the things work.
I would recommend this book for some of those guys who like war or are curious to big events around the world because it shows everything that they need.
A good quote is "A soldier is a professional fighter: A man or woman - who is paid to fight for a country or cause". It means that being a soldier it is possible for both gender. You can see this quote on page 6.

I finished this book on Friday and I thought it was very good. The book is about how soldiers are trained and fight in many different places around the world. My favorite part was about guerrila warfare whitch is when an army is out numbered and they use hit and run tatics. It was easy to understand and the pictures and photos helped me understand it better. I learened about soldiers traing and thare tatics.

The DK Eyewitness books are marketed for children, but they're good introductions for adults too. Most books for adults don't have illustrations like these. In this case the text and pictures cover both ancient and modern soldiers and their equipment and training, with examples from numerous countries.

Such tiny print.
Only one spread mentions women.
Beginning misleads that soldiers = army w/o mention of other forces
