Great shame really. Generational figure of a guy but went mental and started attacking all his Day1s while organising rallies for the unemployed. Gallacher being baptised by Lenin in the immortal science kinda sealed John’s fate as a great leader who couldn’t work with others. He was an absolute legend and a martyr for the cause tho.

Nearly started crying when I finished it tho.

The classic biography of this great Scottish socialist and educator, written by his daughter, but none the worse for that. MacLean's story and ideas really deserve a far wider audience than they have, a century after his death.
