HALF MY HEART & CHANGE MY HEART

At nineteen, Devin Sutton lost his first love, his freedom, and his hope. Years later, the only thing he has on his mind is finally settling the score back in Clover, North Carolina.

That is, until the girl he thought he’d lost forever crosses his path. Rebecca Farrus is supposed to be off living the life of her dreams, not tending bar in some dive.

When faced with the choice, will Devin decide to celebrate what he’s finally found or keep seeking retribution for everything he lost?

With his heart full of vengeance is there any room for love?

ALL MY HEART
f you spend half your life chasing down vengeance, what do you do when the thing you’re hunting turns out to be someone you love? If your sanity depends on the solace you’ll find in retribution, is one terrifying discovery enough to get you to stop searching?

Rebecca has given Devin half her heart and all her love since the moment he was arrested. Now it’s up to him to decide if he’s capable of the same dedication when new clues point to her involvement in murder.

With so much on the line can Devin sort out the chaos and stop his tailspin before he loses everything? Can he hand over all his heart and trust he’s making the right choice?

FACING HOME
Vitorino “Click” Coglinaese knows he shouldn’t feel more at home in a war zone than he does in his own backyard. But when you earn yourself a nickname like Click, the only sound the enemy hears before you strike, transitioning back to civilian life is a more insurmountable task than any combat mission.

Click knows his family is longing for the kid who left for boot camp six years ago. But that person doesn’t exist anymore. The only thing strong enough to pull him back to Sturbridge, Tennessee is knowing one of his four sisters is in trouble.

Can Click fight his nightmares and haunting memories long enough to save his sister? Can Jordan, the woman he loves, help him navigate his way toward peace with his family? Or will facing home be the one fight Click can’t win.

CRASHING DOWN
Lu-Ella settles into her favorite chair at the Happy Heart Dance Studio. Like every Tuesday night, she’s ready to watch her sweet daughter, Rudy, have fun. The outside world isn’t built for Rudy and her limitations, but the family they have built at the dance studio wholeheartedly embraces her.

When tragedy strikes, Lu-Ella will find out just how hard a mother will fight to save her child. For the first time in Rudy's life, she realizes she can't do this on her own.

Mike isn't looking for a place to settle down. As far as he's concerned, roots may as well be chains. Only a few months since his last deployment, he’s settling terribly into civilian life. No matter how hard his old friend, Click, tries, there’s just no room in this suburban world for him.

One evening while working on repairs at the dance studio the code he lives by is called into question. Leaving isn’t an option this time. Because running means leaving Lu-Ella to fend for herself . . . and there was no way in hell he’ll do that.

Writing is a way to make a lot of different people do exactly what you want them to do. When I can’t get my toddler to listen to me, I turn to my characters. They always cooperate!

I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my husband and seven year old son. I have perfected the ability to write in a noisy house and create story lines while folding laundry.

Ten Things to know about me:

1. I have a fear of whales. All whales. The noise they make. The sight of them (even on tv). I don't think this phobia has a name and I've never met anyone else who feels this way. I blame it on the 3D movie when I was 7 at the Boston Museum of Science. (Thanks Dad.)

2. When I get hungry it brings out the worst in me. My friends and family know to keep me well fed. They pack snacks now.

3. I can cook but not bake. Not even a little. Not even a box of brownies.

4. If there is a song I like it is normal to hear me listening to it a hundred times (give or take) in a row.

5. I do not, under any circumstances, read directions. Who has time for that? Making mac & cheese by the seat of my pants for the last 25 years.

6. Like a black-out drunk, I have lost hours of my life mysteriously to Pinterest. If you haven't tried it yet... don't. Save your self.

7. Before I became a mother, lots of things grossed me out. Now nothing does.

8. My favorite food is food... my least favorite food is no food. I love food. (apply the same rule to wine)

9. I do not have a green thumb. I have the kind of thumb that kills any type of plant ever given to me. Whatever kind of thumb that is... I have it.

10. Writing has changed my life. Not just the career it's created but the way I feel when I write. If you have something you love to do I hope you get the opportunity to do it.

This four book series is billed as a romance collection, and on the surface it is, but the subjects in the series go so much deeper than romance. The characters are so well developed that you forget that they are not real, and their love for each other, their families, and their friends continues through all of the books. The themes resonate with issues faced by real people; small towns struggling to survive corruption and job loss, fair and ethical access to healthcare services, and the sacrifice of military service and the very real impact the return to civilian life has on service members and their families. The subjects are handled sensitively with just the right touch of seriousness and without being too heavy. The humor and search for the redemption of love fleshes out each individual book as well as binding the books together as a series.
You will be eager to visit with and root for these people in each book and will be sad to say goodbye to them when the series ends! Danielle Stewart has hit this series out of the park!

The Hearts of Clover Collection – I’m not normally one to fan-crush, but I’ll admit I was totally hooked after reading the first story in the Clover Collection! BTW, it’s just as good the 2nd time around when I re-read all the books. Danielle Stewart’s series introduces some wonderful new characters who are brought together in the poor small town of Clover, NC. Half My Heart is the first in the series and set at Christmastime. At first you may think it’s going to be another sweet holiday story. It is, but as each book reveals new twists and turns you soon realize it is much more. There is real depth to these characters as you discover their backgrounds and personal stories. I enjoyed how each chapter title is a character’s name and written from that character’s POV. It really helps to get inside their heads and know what they are thinking and feeling. The series can be read in order or each book can easily stand alone. If you aren’t completely sold and want to know more, a mini-overview of the storylines is below. Honestly, just go read this collection and fan-crush for yourself. Each book is more enjoyable than the last. ~JDM

Hearts of Clover (Half My Heart & Change My Heart)
Teenage Devin was arrested on Christmas for murder he didn’t commit. His life and the holiday are forever ruined and all he wants is revenge. After serving 10 years in prison he returns to his poor home town of Clover, NC at Christmas. He’s no longer a kid, but a successful businessman with a plan to destroy the town and the man who framed him. He has second thoughts once he discovers his high-school first love still lives in town working multiple jobs to provide for her brothers’ education and her young daughter. Town thugs threaten Devin’s safety so ex-marine Click is hired to protect him. Devin and Click must also protect Rebecca and her daughter after they become targets. Devin arranges to take the girls away from Clover’s threats and danger. They celebrate a magical Christmas together unlike any of them could ever imagine. Change My Heart reveals Devin and Rebecca’s childhood love story as they work out their current feelings since both have changed from when they were teens. Rebecca tries to change Devin’s mind about his vendetta plan for the town. They continue to face grave danger and with help from friends Click, Jordan, Nick, and Luke they try to discover who really killed the high school football star in the unsolved murder case. In All My Heart the tables turn on Rebecca when she is arrested and faces trial for murder after new evidence is uncovered. She better understands what Devin experienced as a teen and why he’s the man he is now. Friends Click, Jordan, Nick, and Luke join forces again to protect the girls in a safe house while trying to prove Rebecca’s innocence and expose the true murderer. Facing Home follows Click and Jordan’s blossoming relationship as Click goes home to face his big, loud Italian family in crisis after hearing one of his sisters is in trouble. The ex-marine has avoided home until now. With Jordan’s help he must protect the whole family from someone who is killing people in order to keep a nasty corporate secret from being exposed. Crashing Down is about Mike, a lost, lonely ex-marine buddy, who never stays in one place for long. Click and Jordon have settled down and own a dance studio for special needs children. They offer Mike a job, stability, a place to stay, even though he feels broken and unsure if he deserves or wants those things. Mike becomes Lu-Ella’s hero by saving the life of Rudy, her 6-year old autistic daughter during a routine dance class. They learn Rudy may die without a heart transplant so Mike and the friends battle to save the life of the little girl. Mike wants to stay to protect Rudy and Lu-Ella, but will he stay for good?

Great Read!

I have read other books by Danielle Stewart and have enjoyed them, this one did not disappoint. Trying to save a once thriving community, The people who bond trying to save the town of Clover become friends, who become family. There is everything in this series, corruption, suspense, friendship, justice, romance & secrets... oh the secrets. It was very convenient to have all of them together in this set. I read through them quickly because I could not put it down. I am not a big fan of books in the first person but the series was well written and by many points of view, it did not feel one sided.

Excellent set

These books are more mystery than romance. When I hear the word romance it brings up thoughts of cheesey romantic novels my mom read when I was a kid. These books are sophisticated books filled with mystery and suspense. They also cover some very difficult topics. The author obviously puts a lot of time into researching her topics and it shows in her emotional books. The topic of military families and ptsd is very close to my heart and this book gave me some insight into what my family is going through. Well worth the read!

OMG, what a great set of stories!!! You have romance, suspense and HEA. The characters come together in unexpected ways and they click. The first two stories are about Devin and Rebecca. The knew each other in high school and reconnect years later. The third story is a about Click and Jordan who met in the first two stories. The fourth story is about Lu-Ella and Mike. I love how the stories intertwine with each other. I want to see stories about all the other characters we met along the way. What a great book. One click today and fall in love with the people of Clover, NC.

Fantastic reads. Danielle Stewart is known for her twists and turns in her books, but wow she stepped it up in these 4 books. I loved learning about Devin and Rebecca, their history, how things played out in their lives, and impacted them the way it did. I enjoy new characters who become main characters in the later book, such as Click, and Jordan.
I honestly couldn't put these books down and was reading every chance I got. From drama, suspense, romance, and flat out nonsense you'd never expect but can't stop reading about, these books do not disappoint.

This collection is a series of entwined stories set in a small town. The characters are connected in various ways & make appearances in the other stories. There’s romance, love, suspense, chemistry & happy endings - everything you’d want to keep you interested & involved. As each story is told, the characters flesh out & become more realistic. Each relationship becomes stronger & more emotional. The reader is pulled deeper into each story & their feelings are more entrenched in the ending. Danielle Stewart’s writing is at its best with its prose full of wit, sarcasm, emotion & reality.
