Spending time with my nemesis never felt so good.
Carson Brooks has been my enemy since the day he moved to Sweet Water and tried to drown me in a rogue wave.

Falling for my nemesis was what I needed. I've been reading outside the YA genre of late and this book reminded me why it's my favourite.
Mia is best friends with Ethan. He's a little younger than her but their friendship works perfectly. Except for one detail. His older brother, Carson.
Carson and Mia have been enemies since he moved to Sweet water. When an incident at school throws the pair together, the reasons Mia hates him so much don't seem as obvious. He's actually being pretty decent. After a few confessions at a party, Mia is questioning everything she thought was true.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narrator was great. Mia's back story adds an extra level to the tale and Ethan was a great best friend.
I won this in a competition with no obligation to review. It's also available on KU.

Oh, I hope that “Falling For My Best Friend by Victorine E. Lieske” is the next book to this series. I don’t even want to read the short story because I know I want more...
But anyways I already knew this book was going to be good in the end because for one. These series have been good; it’s either a four-star ⭐️ or a five star ⭐️ when I end up reading a book from this series. I can’t wait for the next book. I heard it supposed to be 12 books to this series. I’ll wait and see.
Other than that I had a feeling that Carson actually liked Mia.... for one he showed her he liked her by being mean to her... but she liked at it as being BULLIED, and he didn’t like her. I don’t understand why a guy does that to get girl attention when they can actually tell the girl they like her... I guess Carson had to figure out a way to get Mia attention, but it sucked that he had to hit her in the eye with the ball. Heck, I know that feeling since I got hit in the head with one myself in middle school.
It also was funny when both Ethan and Mia stated that the kiss was horrible gosh that was hilarious... I said not “you kiss like my grandma” 🤣🤣🤣 hilarious.... but at least I’m the end he knew he didn’t want her & she didn’t want him... & also Carson stopped ignoring Mia and actually gotten into a REAL relationship with her instead Of beating around the bush ... & she got into Duke too. It’s also funny how Carson also wanted Duke to be his number one school... & that Ethan was happy for both of them regardless... he was just jealous of losing his best friend... I did want to slap her for ignoring him though. But at least they made up in that 5. seconds of talking & doing a kiss that both thoughts were gross.
Plus; I want a book about Ethan; hopefully, it’ll happen soon...

I've read a few Tia Souders books before, but this one is for sure the best. Sometimes all a girl needs is a light-hearted YA romance to make her day the best it can be. I was giggling and sighing as I read this book. I loved Carson and his personality. He's just a great character all-around. Mia was also endearing and I loved the witty remarks she could come up with. I would love to read another book like this by Tia. Usually her YA books have a serious theme or lesson, such as anorexia, but I really enjoyed this sweet, clean YA book. I really recommend this one!

Absolutely enjoyed every minute of this story! Great pacing, good characters, realistic plot. A really fun read. Will definitely be seeking more of this author’s work. Recommend it.

This was an adorable story with a fun premise and likable characters. I very much enjoyed it.
The plot of the story was good but very predictable. I don't think that there was enough drama, to be honest. I think a little more stirring of the pot would have improved the story. As it is, it is still a good story though. No plot holes or unnecessary scenes.
I wish that I had felt more connected to the characters. I liked them well enough and I enjoyed their interactions but it felt like something was missing for me. They definitely had enough depth to get a good feel on them but I would have liked a tad bit more. I think that a little more digging into the characters would have fixed this for me.
I know that my review sounds like a downer and that wasn't my intention. This is a good book and I enjoyed it very much, it just felt like it was missing a spark. It is a fun and easy read that I am glad to have read. It was amusing and delightful in places. I think that it just needed to be a bit longer to add in some more tidbits. A little more added character growth, a little more time for the couple to spend bantering, and a little more conflict would make this an outstanding read. For me, anyway. If you like fast-paced sweet young adult romance then you should definitely pick this one up.

Hate-to-love books are my jam, y'all. I want the tension, the banter, the mixed feelings...ALL OF IT! And Falling for My Nemesis DELIVERED. Plus, it was a Christmas read!
Carson was just...ugh, a dreamboat. Was he also an annoying, confusing pain-in-the-neck sometimes? Yes. But his sweet moments were just so incredibly swoony. And even though he constantly came across as an insensitive guy, he definitely had a gentle/caring side...he just didn't always show that in the best way.
As for Mia, her need to keep it altogether/be as perfect as possible really hit home for me (seeing as I'm a type one) and her struggles were just really relatable.
It's always interesting to see how the dynamic between a fun-loving/easygoing character and an uptight/responsible character is going to play out...and I loved how it happened for Mia and Carson.
Like most romance plots, there usually has to be some misunderstandings...and while a lot of people don't enjoy when the main leads don't communicate, I honestly enjoy it when it's realistic/done right, which was the case with this book. Mia and Carson held back from each other because of their insecurities and doubts, their hesitancy was understandable. The ending, however, wasn't my favorite. It really just felt rushed...and unresolved? There was an epilogue though, so that made me VERY happy!
As far as content goes: Although there wasn't any language, I wouldn't personally consider the book an "all clean read." A possible "illicit affair" was mentioned. Voodoo dolls were mentioned. A flirty characters was described with having "ample cleavage" on display. "Stoners" and "crackheads" were mentioned. Streaking and skinny dipping were mentioned. Underage drinking happened at a party. A guy that Mia dated in the past was told that she was "secretly into girls." The phrase "pimpin' it" was used. A character cupped his crotch after being threatened by a: "you'll be one ball short" comment.
The kisses and chemistry were UNBELIEVABLY good, and the angst between Mia and Carson drove my crazy in the best "hate-to-love" way possible. 😉
Did I say that Carson was swoony? He was honestly just flat-out sexy. AND he also had the cutest vulnerable moments. Lastly...perfume. That's all I'm going to say. PERFUME.

When Mia gets hit in the face with a ball during gym class, she knows her nemesis Carson is to blame- and to make matters worse he just smirks at her. You can't really blame her for her temporary moment of insanity when she tries to strangle him- in front of the entire gym class. Now Carson and Mia are forced into working together for a charity event to avoid suspension, and Mia knows it will be a disaster. Can she survive dealing with her stressful home life, lack of date for the upcoming dance, and forced interaction with her enemy while creating a nice holiday for those in need?
I loved that this was the perfect mix of two of my favorite romance tropes- enemies to lovers AND best friends brother. When I originally saw the title and realized that this was an enemy/lover romance I was so excited, because nothing screams chemistry more than angry banter and colliding personalities- I mean come on, we start the book with the main character taking a brief moment of insanity to attempt to strangle her nemesis. When I was reading and realized that the nemesis was her best friends brother I was even more thrilled because it adds a layer of the taboo/forbidden romance thing I just can't seem get enough of.
I actually did not realize that this was the sixth book in a series, I may not have picked it up if I had been aware. But I am happy to report that while this may be the sixth book, it is 100% a standalone and can be fully enjoyed on it's own. Each book in the series is written by a different author with a different set of characters to find love but set in the same town. I now have five more books to get my grabby hands on!
This is the fourth book by Tia that I had had the pleasure of reading and I am most certainly a fan. She knows and can write the most perfect of romances- be it her adult books or YA, I love them both. I highly recommend Falling For My Nemesis as well as any of her other stories, they are the perfect mix of believable characters, sweet HEA romance and great dialogue that makes me come back for more any chance I get. (Side note- I think this would be great for a Christmas time read since that is when the story takes place.) I may be a tiny bit a Tia fangirl at this point, but after reading one of her books you will see why.

Mia is a sweet strawberry blond girl in her senior year of highschool whose family life is falling apart. She is waiting on an advanced admission letter to Duke just hoping to get out of town and move forward before the chaos gets worse. She keeps all this hurt hidden from everyone, painting a happy face on and being the sweet, smart, kind girl she is to everyone at school. She doesn’t join any one group but gets along with them all and spends her time talking and enjoying everyone… everyone but Carson. He is the bane of her existence, her nemesis, she still can’t quite forgive him for almost drowning her on the day they met when she moved to Sweet Water as a young girl. But that is also where she met Ethan, her best friend, even if he is a year younger and Carson’s brother. Their family is her home away from home the haven from the chaos and fights of her parents.
The boiling point comes when Carson accidentally or intentionally… hits her in the face with a basketball during gym while she is distracted thinking about all the difficulties at home and discussing the Snowflake ball with her friend. This is the breaking point and she snaps, running at him and grabbing him around the neck in an unsuccessful attempt to strangle Carson. Of course this winds them both in the principal's office and the story begins…
Rather than suspend them which would ruin her chances at getting into Duke and Carson’s at his swimming scholarships, the principal offers them an alternative, run the charity event for Christmas, the Angel tree and christmas boxes for families in their areas.
As they work together, grudgingly, Mia finds out more about Carson, who isn’t quite how she thought he was and she discovers that maybe he isn’t her Nemesis after all..
This is a sweet romance story with some tougher themes such as divorce and the pressures teens put on themselves, there is some underage drinking and parties mentioned but they aren’t a big theme of the book. I really enjoyed the story being told from Mia’s perspective, she has a great character and voice and her discovery of herself and Carson is wonderful and enjoyable to read. The fun and cute twist of Ethan wondering if he might like Mia as more than a friend and the resulting chaos is a humorous experience that had me laughing out loud…
Recommended for young adults of all ages, this is a cute story sure to leave you with good feelings, and hope that even when things are tough, you can make it through with a little help from your friends and those you love...

As they work together, grudgingly, Mia finds out more about Carson, who isn’t quite how she thought he was and she discovers that maybe he isn’t her Nemesis after all..
This is a sweet romance story with some tougher themes such as divorce and the pressures teens put on themselves, there is some underage drinking and parties mentioned but they aren’t a big theme of the book. I really enjoyed the story being told from Mia’s perspective, she has a great character and voice and her discovery of herself and Carson is wonderful and enjoyable to read. The fun and cute twist of Ethan wondering if he might like Mia as more than a friend and the resulting chaos is a humorous experience that had me laughing out loud…
Recommended for young adults of all ages, this is a cute story sure to leave you with good feelings, and hope that even when things are tough, you can make it through with a little help from your friends and those you love...

Other than that, it's a cute read about finding your first love.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of contemporary romance, coming of age, first love, cute and cliche scenes, and best friends (because I adore Ethan).

This book was so good.
The Story:
Mia and Carson have always hated each other. As Carson's brother's best friend, they've spent most of their lives circling each other, but never becoming friends themselves.
Until now. After injuring Caron injures Mia in gym class and she retaliates, the two are forced to work together to take over the school's holiday angel project. If they don't kill each other first.
What I loved:
Pretty much everything. Mia is such a strong character and it's easy to root for her. It tugged on my heart when she kept waiting and waiting for the acceptance letter. Carson took some warming up to, but only because of how we see him through Mia's eyes. As the story moves alone, we learn how a lot of his past actions had reasons beyond antagonization. He becomes a sweet guy who has always been in love with his brother's best friend.
What was just okay: Some unnecessary drama with the brother, but I understand why it had to happen so it didn't take away from the story.
Final Verdict:
A story you'll want to read in one sitting with characters you won't want to leave behind, and a writing style that leaves you looking for everything else written by this author.

Read this book!
Tia's books just keep getting better, and this one is definitely added to the top of the books I've read from her and loved. Carson is swoon worthy, Mia is very relatable, and their chemistry feels real and palpable. I loved the relationship between Mia and the entire Brooks family, and that though her world is falling apart around her, the relationships she's built in that family really do provide her with a real feeling of home. I highly recommend that you read this book!

Entertaining YA enemies-to-lovers romance
The enemies-to-lovers trope is one of the toughest ones for an author to pull off. Typically, one or both of the main characters ends up being too unlikeable to fully redeem for readers.
This one is better than average. It does well enough to to succeed with all the happy, warm fuzzy feels. The author does a good job of building their relationship over a relatively short period of time. And their encounters are amusing.
Carson did do some fairly obnoxious stuff, though, and is too old for some of the crap he pulls on poor Mia, especially knowing she's going through hades.
The author writes it well, however, so it's really only after reflecting on it after finishing the book that it kinda bugged me. So... not perfect, didn't fully pull it off, but I'd still say close enough to still be absolutely worth the read.
*Clean romance level: passionate kisses
*Religion: secular, takes the Lord's Name in vain once, sadly, but at least not with cursing

This was a great quick read! I didn't realize until after I was done that I have read a book from this author before and loved it. This one didn't disappoint either. I love the enemies to friends to more stories.
The characters of this story were really good and relatable. I loved the chemistry between Ethan, Mia, and Carson. I felt that the basketball incident was a little harsh but I loved that Mia stood up for herself and did something about it even if it was a little extreme. The punishment was perfect in my opinion because it made them work together and get to know one another a little better. I felt really bad for Mia because of her parents but I was glad that she had Ethan and could escape to Ethan's house whenever she needed to. I really liked Carson as a character after he started to work together with Mia and show that he cared about the project they had to work on. I just wish Carson had spoken up a little sooner about how he felt about Mia instead of teasing her and making her feel like he hated her. This story ended a little to fast for me though; I wanted/needed more.

I absolutely loved this book. This is a bully romance. Mia and Carson’s chemistry is off the charts. Yes they do banter and exchange quips with each other but Carson’s bullying towards Mia is also a warped form of protecting her. Carson may be arrogant but there are other layers behind his character. He is also caring and thoughtful and also attentive. Mia starts off hating him but slowly they develop feelings towards each other.
The story also explores Mia and her best friend Ethan. They knew each other since they were kids. There is a possible romance but is quickly squashed as they care for each other as friends
This book was easy to read and I devoured it within a few hours. I love the HEA and was pining for Mia and Carson to be together. Highly recommended read for YA lovers

A highly enjoyable read. I found myself loving all the characters and the slow progression of friendship/romance between Mia and Carson. So adorably sweet! I also liked the writing itself, and that's saying something because I'm usually super picky when it comes to these types of books. There was so much humour in it too. I burst out laughing throughout the book. I'm still mentally gushing over the whole story. The only sad thing is there isn't any more to it! I would've loved seeing a bit more backstory with what younger Carson used to do to try get Mia's attention (LOL) but the story itself feels complete as it is so I can't really complain. I went and got the audiobook because that's how much I loved reading it!

I had to read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down! It's a really sweet love story of two normal teenagers, growing and slowly getting into adulthood, and I felt like I could relate and understand their actions and decisions, even if I sometimes thought they were the wrong choices. They feel real, the character depth is amazing for just one book! The friends and family that surround them are less detailed, but they are written in a way that enhances the two main characters. I enjoyed this book a lot and didn't know the series, I will definitely look into the other books!

Mia's life is falling apart and when her sworn enemy hits her in the eye with a basketball, she may have lost it and tried to strangle him right there in gym class in front of lots of witnesses. And now she is stuck working on an angel tree project with sworn enemy Carson as part of their remediation. Carson's brother, Ethan, is Mia's best friend and Mia has managed to spend lots of time at their house over the years with very little interaction with Carson. But now she's being forced to spend a lot of time with him and realizing that she may be falling for him.

I LOVED this book beginning to end! I was hooked from page one!! The chemistry between Mia and Carson is off the charts. The witty banter between the two kept me laughing. High school star jock and the overachiever, what more could you ask for in this sweet first love story? I could have happily read many more chapters of this book so I'm definitely wishing there were more. Will definitely be picking up more books by this author!! This one will go under my faves tab!

The story had me at the beginning within the first chapter. Enemies, evolving into friends, and then evolving again into something more than friends is one of my favorite story developments. This book did not disappoint. I didn't like Carson too much in the beginning but he surprised me and I really wanted him to get the girl. I can't wait to read more from Tia and now from this series. Thank you Tia. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.

Beautiful sweet high school romance
I loved this sweet story. There is something about secret admirers and finally getting together with them. Seeing those who we thought were enemies turned friends is wonderful for the soul. I love forgiveness and seeing others at their best. The characters were fabulous and the storyline flowed. I highly recommend this book and author. Hapoy reading.

Mia and Carson have a sweet magnetism that is as flirty as it is antagonistic. When Carson pings Mia in the eye with a basketball, her throat-rushing response probably has more to do with the other stress factors in her life, than the stinging pain of a blooming black eye. When they are sentenced to work together on getting donations to provide Christmas presents to underprivileged families, they may find that there is more than meets the eye and the strained relationship between them.

This is a series that my sister introduced me to. Sweet Water High is a series of stand-alone books all written by different authors. It follows the individual lives of 11 students in each book.
It’s cheesy, corny and very predictable. But if you love meet-cutes or even the budding love of a high school romance, I recommend it. The books are small that you can finish it very quickly. For me however, it was too addicting that I decided to bail it. And I only read just this one book! 😂

I loved this book so much. I love the whole "enemies to lovers" trope and this book certainly did not disappoint! The only complaint I have is that I wished it was longer! I found myself at the end and so upset because I was so attached to Mia and Carson's story. Regardless, this a great read if you like quick, witty, and cute romance stories.
