Liliana Dapprima was living her best life, full of dreams and possibilities, until she was unwillingly demanded to relocate to help her family's business with no explanation.
Making the reluctant adjustment to her new life should have been the only difficult part she'd have to endure, that was until she found herself torn between her new love interest and the man who shattered her heart.
Choosing between the two was supposed to be Liliana's only concern, but her world spirals down when she finds herself caught in a tangled web of betrayal, secrets, lies, and death.
She's left with more questions than answers. Who is her family? Why does she feel in constant danger? Are the two men who each hold half of her heart really who they say they are?
What will Liliana do when everything she's ever known turns out to be an ultimate deception?
Old wounds opened up again when Liliana had to be with her old lover Emilio Amante. It didn't help her either that she must live and work with him while she was already committed to her new boyfriend Lucas, who happened to be Emilio's employee. This kind of love triangle may sound cliche, but trust me, their love story was something extra-ordinary.
This story already captured my attention with its prologue. Liliana was startled awake after she saw herself running away from someone who wanted to claim and lunged her. As the chapters ran, my impression of Liliana being innocent changed to deceivingly cautious and mature. From that point on, I knew I was in for a good read. And it really was! It was an hour later when I realized I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I finish the story.
MD Melai and CS Leigh are highly commendable authors, as they both made me thrilled from beginning to end. The ending provided an opportunity for me to think and guess what happens next. So I am looking forward to reading book 2.
As the book's author, I'm partial to loving it. Lately, I've had little inspiration to write, mostly due to every day stressors. It's been five years since this wonderful, life-changing book of mine was released, so I thought I would re-read it again. Sometimes going back to my roots helps ground me.
It's still as fantastic as it was when my cousin and I sat down to write it. Lily's story is one that always inspired me, because even though I created it, I was experiencing it with her. Though she's young and naïve, I know she grows into such a wonderful woman that doesn't let anything beat her down -- and that's when I knew that I found my inspiration again. Though life can beat you down, the only thing that matters is that you survive and come out stronger.
To those looking for a story that has twist and turns with a mix of romance, I recommend you read it and get as caught up in Lily's story as I have. She'll forever be my rock to remind me why I started my writing career with her story. <3
I enjoyed this book, though initially I did not take to Lilly AT ALL. I don't know why but she just seemed to be so naive and childlike - maybe not chidlike, I cant pinpoint the exact word I want to describe her, suffice to say I didn't really like her character much,
But as the story progresses I could kinda see why she was written to be so naive. It took me a while to get into the story but once I got going I loved the twists and turns and the ending.,.... oh my!
Great book.I suspected the mafia connection but did not suspect the way way it ended .I need to read the next book .Who got shot, will emelio and lilliana end up together,or maybe lucus.Would love to see Dante and Violets story too.Cant wait for the next one I will definately buy it.I recieved the book free as part of first reads .
