I read the first one, and was pleased there was at the beginning of this book, a brief review of Cup. This picks up the story. Cup/Ellen is married now, and expecting a baby. Unfortunately, it was not to be at this time. Thank goodness, her parents live in a house right by them. Ellen, though she cannot hear or speak, has her own language to communicate with her loved ones. She befriended a homeless man, and he became like a member of the family. As do others around them. Ellen gets pregnant again, and this baby brings joy to all. Though this family has some hard times, they stick together through it all. Very enjoyable read.
