A Wild Dragon, A Murderous Poacher, A Dozen Stolen Dragonets Threatened with expulsion and imprisonment for her offenses against the Magical Militia, Alba must stay out of trouble and obey the rules. But when a mysterious thief steals the dragonets, Alba and Fyrian must find the culprit before he escapes through the wards. With tensions running high in Mount Fornax and a sinister force causing mayhem among the dragon warriors, will she succeed before time runs out or become the poacher’s next victim?
This one surprised me a bit. Alba is actually growing up and thinking through her actions a bit more. The relationship between her and her dragon is maturing as well, even if they are both still very young. While she is still trying to complete her first year at the academy, she is still learning about her magic and the link she has with Fyrian. Add to that the Academy is still in an uproar from troubles caused by King M, her parents do not approve of her budding relationship with Niger, her parents are flirting with each other, the Poacher is back and there is a new attacker on the loose! How is she supposed to get anything done? The most fun of the series as a whole.

Not a quiet moment for Alba! Her last adventure lands her in prison. Since there is no proof that she aided in Evolene’s escape, she is released but now she has to be extra careful not to step a toe out of line! Yet, she can’t help herself. When dragonets go missing and Academy students are being targeted and hurt by an invisible force, she decides to take matters into her own hands and with the help of her friends apprehend the culprit. But who is it? Has Asproceros really infiltrated Mount Fornax? What is the wild dragon’s role in all this? And will her relationship with Fyrian survive the wild dragon’s attempts to turn Fyrian against her?
“Pariah of Dragons” is another thrilling episode in Alba’s adventures! In this installment the story takes place solely in Mount Fornax, and although it might seem that there’s less action than in the previous books, that is not the case. We get to experience more of Alba’s inner thoughts and her interaction with Fyrian, her friends and family, giving us a better insight to her character, fears, hopes and beliefs. The magical world of Mount Fornax gets more detailed, with new information and characters being added with each chapter. The mystery and suspense build slowly throughout the book, keeping the readers at the edge of their seat, culminating in breath-taking action in the last chapters, where questions are answered, and more questions arise. The finale is mind-blowing!!! Never before have I wished so much that the next book was already out!!!
Princess Alba, disguised as a boy, and her bonded dragon, Fyri, meet a strange dragon brought into the academy by the tamers. It's a strange color and obviously wild. The rantings of the wild dragon send Fyri into a funk and Alba regrets meeting him and subjecting Fyri to him. Strange things are happening in the academy, and Alba has to be careful to do nothing wrong or she will be expelled. But there are strange thefts and stranger assaults going on all over. The witch Evolene knows nothing, but is currently brewing a poison to kill the spriggans that are in control of the Kingdom of Savannah, and the strange dragon finds out and thinks the poison is aimed at dragons. I found this book very interesting and I think you will too.
With the spriggers trying to raise The Forgotten King, Alba doesn't need a wild dragon interfering in her bond with her dragon! Especially since the wild dragon believes all the tamed dragons are slaves to their riders.
Cordelia Castel has created a fascinating series with something for everyone. There are heroines, heroes, dragons, magic, mysteries, battles and even a forbidden love. All of this adds up to a rivey
