Great for fans of Susan Mallery, Bella Andre, and Marie Force. Just the Way You Are is a small town, feel-good romance, the first in a four-book series.
Mitch Matthews is a regular guest at the Oceanside B and B, but until now he’s never arrived without a beautiful woman at his side. This time he’s here alone, to work on his book. So why, if he came alone for solitude, does he want to spend so much time with the B and B’s sociable owner, Fran Bishop?
Fran has been drawn to Mitch for years, but she knows friendship is as far as their relationship will ever go. The sexy, successful motivational speaker isn’t the type to settle in the sleepy Pacific coast town of Dunlin Shores, Oregon, especially with a woman like Fran, who wants not just a husband and children, but solid roots.
Can this certified hunk be looking at Fran in a whole new way? It takes an extraordinary event for him—and for Fran—to find out.
I'm a bit of a voyeur. I love to stick my nose into total strangers' business and observe how they deal with life's hurdles and whatever obstacles fate throws at them. I can't think of anything more challenging or interesting than delving into a character's psyche to discover what makes her/him tick. The surprises and insights are amazing.
The people who interest me most are the ones I know will triumph despite life’s problems and challenges. For me, writing their stories is both rewarding and a whole lot of fun.
Publication didn't come easy for me--just ask my family! That took seven-plus years, during which I worked full-time as a banker, complete with an MBA in finance and human resources management. I wrote evenings and weekends, spending countless hours hunched in front of the computer while I painstakingly honed my craft, and collected folders of rejections. In 1999 my efforts at last paid off. That summer, I won the Golden Heart for best long contemporary romance. Sadly it is now defunct. Six months later, just four days before Christmas, I sold my first book to Silhouette Special Edition, also now gone. That book, STRANGER IN A SMALL TOWN, was a 2000 Romantic Times nominee (another loss) for best first long series novel.
Since then I have sold multiple novels to publishers and tried my hand at indie publishing.
But things change, so check back often for updates.
This is my third Ann Roth book, and it also happens to be the third book in the Dunlin Shore series. And I have to say I absolutely love these books. They aren't my normal type of read but I do love them.
Fran has made appearances in the first two books of the series so we know she's the owner of the local B & B. Mitch is a motivational speaker who comes and stays at the B &B and always brings a date. Why would he not bring a date this time?
Fran has had a crush on Mitch since he started coming to the B & B. Mitch is not his normal self due to losing this father, he also happens to be the only guest at the inn.
During Mitch's stay the spend a lot of time together, including long walks on the beach. Every girl dreams of this. Through spending time together they grow closer and closer.
Fran and Mitch's story really shows that sometimes everything you're looking for is right in front of you and you're just too blind to see it. But once you do see it hold onto it.
I love this sweet, feel good series. Like I said not my normal read, but I really do love this series and will continue reading.
A very emotional, sweet read by Ann Roth. She shows she can take the roughest situations and make them sweet. The chemistry. The romance. The overall story was excellent. I feel so good after reading her books. She creates a world of simplicity and the theme of family. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what is coming!!
Fran and Mitch are frustrating. Mitch is forced to come back home because of lack of funds. She is fixing up the B&B she’s fixing up. They have known each other for years but never have acted on their feelings. You want to yell as scream at them to just kiss already! They create a story of hope and trust as they go through their journey. It is one you will want to read again and again.
I loved this story, I think Fran deserves her happy. Mitch is struggling with grief and a bit of writers block, I think coming back to somewhere he associates with peace and friendliness is two fold with an attraction he has to someone here. The slow build is a little faster in this one though not all straight forward, it is interesting. Flow is great and it is gripping and exciting. Some nice little sweet bits as well as cute moments. For me this is the best so far even though I loved the first two, it just felt as though the series hit its stride in this one and I read it in just a few hours, lucky me no work. I already have book 4 all ready to read.
After Mitch's father passed away he realizes his creative juices in writing have dried up. With the pressures of his agent and editor to finish his new book, Bliss, he retreats to the quiet B & B at Dunlin Shores to start on his book.
Fran has always had a crush on Mitch. He has always visited yearly with a lady friend except this year. Little does she know that her world is about to be turned upside down.
This is my first book in this series and my first by Ann Roth. I am absolutely in love with this book! I cannot wait to read the other books in this series! Fran and Mitch's story is beautiful - it really has everything epic love stories are made of! *sigh* Loved!
The third book is the one I have been waiting for - Fran was introduced in the first book in the series and you knew she had a story to tell. She comes home to Oregon after her husband left her when she miscarried their child. Feeling sad and needing a new direction in her life Fran hopes her return to Dunlin Shores will give her the peace that she craves. Taking over and re-furbishing the Oceanside B and B by putting her heart and sole into the project makes the B & B now one of the must go places when you want to get away from the real world and take time out for you.
A few years on and all Frans friends are either getting married or having children and old hurts and feelings resurface.
Enter Mitch Matthews the sexy motivational speaker the cause of butterflies to flutter in Fran's tummy every year when Mitch comes to stay, only trouble is he normally has a beautiful woman on his arms. But not this year, this year Mitch arrives alone at the end of the session and is the only guest at Oceanside. The normally outgoing Mitch has a sadness in his eyes that Fran hasn't seen before which is due to the sudden loss of his father. This now means he is unable to complete his new novel "Finding Your Bliss?
Long walks on the beach, learning how to make things out of sea wood and time spent with Fran and her 2 adorable Sea Gulls with a surprise no one was expecting added in maybe the Bliss that Mitch is looking for was right under his nose all the time.
I have really enjoyed the 3rd book in the series and can't wait for No4 the series gets better with each book
Falling for Mr. Wrong is Fran's story. She's been in the first two books, as she's the owner of Oceanside B&B, so of course, I was curious about her. Her backstory was quite emotional, but I'm not going to speak a word about it, but I will talk about what she has going now. See, she's had a thing for a guest named Mitch, a motivational speaker, who comes to stay at the B & B every year, only he always brings a woman with him, and never the same one. This time, however, he comes alone with sadness in his eyes. So they spend time together, figure out they have chemistry, but there's still a ton of frustrating push & pull that had me yelling at the story more than once. It was like he didn't realize that what he needed was right there in front of him, which made me want to shake him until his teeth rattled. So, how does he finally figure it out? Did she tell him, or did he finally wise up on his own. For answers to those questions, you'll have to one click it! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I like this story very much. I think all of Ann's stories trace one or both main characters' ability to start over in life with a clean slate. I find huge emotional satisfaction in that journey. Good book!
